CHAPTER 23: Kakashi's Punishment

The next day, Kakashi walked down the streets of Konoha. Alone this time. His father asked him to go to a meat store and buy some fresh slabs of meat for the dogs. The owner of the shop recognizes Kakashi and begins to make some small talk with him. Kakashi, like any gentleman, would begin to talk to him, answers his questions, asks him how his day was, and when the order or request is fulfilled he leaves with a goodbye and his signature slouchy posture.

By the time he returned home, he gets a scolding from his father because he slouched. He keeps on reminding him to have a straight posture because slouching is bad for his health.

Kakashi straightens his back, only to slouch again when he's gone. He sat down at the dinner table, casually reading the Icha Icha Paradise drafts sent by Jiraya since his father is out.

He has become Jiraya's first official reader and critic. He's not much of a writer so he can't be his editor, he might destroy the plot. Kakashi was a bit sad, about that but he didn't care. Reading was much better than writing.

As he was reading peacefully, he saw a shadow loom over him, that looked like his father.

When he turned around, he saw his father staring at him. No emotion was present, just his chakra, steadily rising. Kakashi began to sweat profusely, his father continues to stare. Kakashi sweated even more. He averted his gaze, only to meet it again.

"Tou-san...Hai?"

"Hai."

"So...um.."

"Give me. The book. Now."

"Wait. Just one second. I promise I'll give it to you after this one cha-" before he could finish his excuse, Sakumo snatched it, and he watched in horror as his father made a very small fire jutsu to burn the book. Kakashi felt a tear drip down from his eyes.

His father mercilessly destroys a masterpiece like that. In front of a fan no less?! How could he? How could he?! His father then turns around, looks him in the eye, and said, "You slouch I take away your entertainment and the things you love most."

"Ok!, Dad, I promise I won't slouch anymore."

"You read this crap again, you're scrubbing the bathroom and toilet with your toothbrush."

"But dad! You know this isn't junk! It's romance!" Kakashi argued

"With sex scenes."

"You could use it to please your lover. It's a great reference you know." he defended.

"You don't even have a girlfriend, nor are you married, plus you're 12," he said with no expression.

"Blame it on the hormones."

"Scrub the toilet and bathroom. Now. Don't use chakra boosts. At all." Kakashi looked at him without emotions, as if it were so normal. He could just hide his chakra signature and use shadow clones to help him out.

By the time he finished, he looked for his father who was standing at the bathroom door.

"What did I tell you to do?"

"Scrub without chakra."

"And what did you do?"

"I scrubbed with chakra."

"Exactly. Now go back inside and scrub again!!" yelled Sakumo.

Kakashi scrubbed again, with his broken toothbrush, his father watched over him. Without the use of chakra, he felt like a normal civilian. It's exhausting. He finally finished, his father smiled at him and told him he did a good job.

Kakashi smiled at that but took it back when his father said, "Now I don't have to scrub the bathroom anymore. Just keep doing what you're doing Kakashi." A tick mark formed on Kakashi's forehead.

He then formulated a plan to read it outside instead, but somehow his father manages to know all the time. Someone was watching him and reporting his every move to his father. An AMBU or was it, Obito?!

Little did he know, it wasn't Obito but his father's shadow clones. His father was surveilling him, to not only catch him when he slouches or reads that porn book but also to pinpoint who the girl in his dreams was. The girl, lady, woman, lover who kept on dying.

He needed to find her, to protect his son's happiness.

However, today after Kakashi's punishment, he watched as Kakashi used the excuse to spar against Obito to beat him down and extract information out of him, relating to the surveillance.

Obito pretended he know at first, but the beating got even worse so he decided to tell Kakashi the truth. He truly didn't know about it, but Kakashi didn't buy it. Sakumo watched as this unfolds and he couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the little Uchiha.
