Adela's Point of View

"This is my son, Archer. He's the one that you're marrying," Mrs. Montero introduced her son to me.

I felt a flutter of excitement upon hearing that. Throughout my life, this was one of my biggest dreams – to marry my love.

A sweet smile appeared on my lips as I remembered Tita Helena Montero introducing her son to me a few days ago.

Two years ago, I started developing feelings for Archer, and little did I know that this year I would be introduced to him as his future spouse.

It was lucky, but if you knew the whole story, I wasn't fortunate. Actually, I was unlucky.

Yes, I love Archer, and I am engaged to him, but there's something that shattered me.

I'm ready to marry him because I love him, but he loves someone else, and that girl is the one he's willing to marry.

So, is that still considered luck?

No.

If before, Archer was my dream, I know that until now, he's still just a dream.

I saw him with her, and I could feel the depth of his love for that girl. I wished I were her, but that was impossible. I am just Adela, the girl who remains a dream to him.

As I walked along the shore, I suddenly noticed a nearby forest close to the resort.

I instinctively went inside the forest without hesitation.

I even came across a hammock hanging from a large branch, not far from the entrance.

When I sat down, I was about to enjoy the tranquility, but I paused when I heard a familiar voice.

"Someone's being alone again," he said.

I immediately searched with my eyes and couldn't help but wipe the smile off my face when I saw who it was – the guy who has been bothering me ever since I arrived at this place. He's handsome, with a serious look, a well-shaped nose, perfect lips, and an almost symmetrical face. But I'm not interested, even if he's handsome and charming.

He's Primo, Archer's younger brother. If Archer is four years older than me, this guy is four years younger. I'm 23, and he's just 19, still studying.

I don't like him because he always reminds me that I'll never be liked by his brother.

If Archer constantly rejects me, Primo is always there to remind me that I have no chance with Archer.

Is this their sibling goal – to hurt me?

Wow, that's enjoyable, right?

"Why are you here?" I asked Primo with no emotion in my voice.

"I should be asking you the same thing. Moreover, I want to know why you're still here. You should go home because my brother doesn't want you," he replied.

I shot him a sharp glare after hearing his response.

"Don't worry, as soon as our parents return from their business trip, I'll be the one to tell them that I won't marry your brother!"

"You learn fast; that's right, stay away from him. He won't love you," he continued.

I rolled my eyes at his persistent comments.

"I know, don't repeat it!"

I was about to turn away when I felt him grip my arm.

I raised an eyebrow and looked at him. I had to tilt my head a bit because he's tall, almost the same height as his brother.

"But the wedding can still happen, just not with him," he said with a mischievous grin.

I felt my eyebrows almost touch each other with his answer. This child! How dare he? For goodness sake, it's his brother who I was engaged to. I love his brother, not him. It's not a good idea to consider marrying him just because his brother rejected me!

And besides, I don't get involved with younger guys! Never!
