CHAPTER 8

Adela's Point of View:

"Nope, I don't want to be the reason for anyone's break-up," I said, and he smiled and looked at me.

"The reason for our break-up? I don't even like him, so I'm really going to break up with him. We both know who's in my heart," he said, pointing to his chest where his heart is.

"It's you," I heard that, and my heart skipped a beat again.

"By the way, did you get a green banner?"

"Yeah."

"Your name was on it," I replied, causing him to run his hand through his hair again.

"Shit, are you sure?" he asked, biting his lip and looking up.

"Yeah, what's the activity later?"

"Spend time with whom your leader asks you to spend time with. And I am your leader, so I am asking you to spend time with me." My eyes widened at what I heard.

"Spend time with you? Are you joking?" I asked, raising my eyebrow while he grinned and winked.

"No, and you're mine tonight," he said, then stood up and offered his hand to me, and I accepted it.

"Fix yourself," I said irritably, giving him a side-eye.

"Let's go back there for now, Olivia might get mad at us," he said, raising his eyebrow.

"Why?" I asked.

"I told her something," he said with a mischievous grin, making my eyes widen.

"What is it?" I glared at him while waiting for an answer.

"I told her that I like you and I'll pursue you."

"You told her what? Are you crazy?" I scolded, but he just laughed.

"Sorry, my bad, my mouth slipped," he answered with a chuckle, and I sighed.

Several minutes passed, and Primo and I returned. I changed in our tent with Olivia, then came back out. I was wearing jogging pants and a hoodie. It was cold, so I dressed like this and just wore slippers and socks.

When I stepped out, I saw Catherine giving me a nasty look, so I avoided eye contact with her.

Damn her, she has no gratitude. I helped her walk without pain because of her pretty feet, and this is how she repays me?

I was surprised when Primo approached Catherine. I noticed Catherine looking so pleased and even smiled at me, crazy girl.

While I was holding the banner, Olivia pulled me away. I was surprised by her sudden appearance behind me.

"Hey, girl! Can you explain to me what Primo said? He said he's going to court you!" She looked at me with wide eyes.

"I think he's fallen for a girl for real this time!" Olivia added, as it was just the two of us who heard her.

"As far as I know, all of his past girlfriends were just attracted to him physically or sexually. He never courted them because they liked him, but you, he wants to court you! Oh my gosh! This is new!" she said with excitement, giggling and looking pleased.

"So what, are you going to give it a shot?" she asked, making me raise an eyebrow.

"I have no plans, I don't have any feelings for him," I replied, avoiding eye contact.

"Oh well, I won't force you, but whatever. I don't know how Primo courts someone, so I can't give you any advice," she said, and I just nodded.

"By the way, did you win the last round? Whose banner is that?" she asked, her eyes widening when she saw Primo's name on it.

She almost squealed, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Gosh, Olivia, calm down!"

"We were told the rule of the game for the last round, and I know Primo chose himself for you, right?"

"Uh, yeah," I said briefly, and she couldn't contain her excitement.

"I'm supporting Primo for you!"

Look at this girl, she used to dislike me with Primo, and now she's the one pushing Primo towards me. Oh well!

"By the way, I now know why Quincy and Catherine weren't with you earlier. I pulled their hair for you. They had the audacity to tell me and brag about what they did to you when they came back here, so I pulled their hair!" she narrated, and I laughed.

"I was really annoyed! Especially with Catherine, she thinks she's so beautiful just because she was involved with a Montero, but it seems like Primo was just fooling around with her," Olivia complained, rolling her eyes. I was surprised when someone who spoke earlier chimed in.

"Okay winners! Gather here!" Ben announced using his megaphone.

Olivia pushed me and even gave me an okay sign when she saw my unhappy face.

"Since Primo has already chosen a winner for Adela, I'll leave you there," Ben said, pointing to the side of the long table.

"Primo, your partner is now waiting, proceed to the selected area," he added with a grin. Primo sighed and went towards me, and I followed him.

"What are we going to do?" I asked while we walked through a dark area, with only his flashlight illuminating the way.

I was surprised when I saw a tent. I went inside, and he followed.

I felt nervous as he zipped up the tent.

"So, what are we going to do?" I asked with a raised eyebrow while he turned on a lamp at the side.

Inside the tent, there was a thick blanket and two pillows and two blankets.

"Everyone will do something here. It depends on what they want to do. Kiss or even, uh, sex," he said, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

"S-sex?" I nervously asked, and he nodded without hesitation.

"But, uh whatever! But, we're not supposed to do that, right?"

"Yeah, unless, my baby likes to do it here," he said, causing me to gasp and blush at his words.

"Are you normalizing calling me baby?" I grinned and laid down because my back was already sore.

"Are we going to sleep here?"

"Yeah, for both questions, my answers are yes," he replied, and I sighed. Damn, why did I even win?

I thought this would be exciting, but it's not turning out that way!

"So what are we going to do? Just talk?" I asked.

"Just talk? Don't you want any physical interaction?" he inquired, and I smirked again.

"We have snacks here, let's eat," he said, taking out a bag full of various snacks and emptying its contents, so I sat down.

I grabbed some chips while he took chocolates. Well, actually, he took everything.

"Can I have some too?" I asked, sounding almost pleading.

"Kiss me first," he said, pointing to his lips.

I gave him a disapproving look and took all the drinks. Go ahead and get thirsty, it's your problem. So he wants a kiss first, huh!

"You're pouting already, baby, here you go!" he said, handing me a chocolate bar.

"Only one?" I furrowed my brows, and he grinned before placing back all the snacks he took. I did the same with mine.

"There, that's fair," I said and opened the bag of chips while he started eating the chocolates. It's a good thing the chocolates didn't melt too much; otherwise, it wouldn't be enjoyable to eat.

I was surprised when he brought his finger with a piece of chocolate close to my lips.

"Say ah?"

At first, I hesitated, but eventually, I opened my mouth. I didn't want him to hide all the chocolates later.

He grinned and touched his finger to his lips before placing it on my lips as I chewed the chocolate.

"That's an indirect kiss!" he said, even more amused.

"Kiss your face! Don't litter, we might get ants here," I teased while looking at the blanket.

"Don't worry, we won't attract ants because of food. We'll attract them with our sweetness."

"Our sweetness? Wow, huh. No assuming here."

We fell silent while eating until he spoke again.

"You like my brother, right?"

I immediately looked at him. I nodded slowly, causing him to gasp.

"Feeling jealous," he said, chuckling, so I stopped eating.

"Can't I be with you instead?" he asked, diverting my attention to him.

"Do you really like me?" I frowned, observing him while waiting for his response.

"I know he'll say yes, but I'm still asking him."

"Of course, I do like you."

"You like me even though we've only known each other for a few weeks?" I inquired, and he nodded.

"You even said before that you love me? Is that true too?" I asked seriously, and he paused, becoming serious as well.

"Yes, everything I said is true, Adela," he replied, looking directly into my eyes.

"How did you become sure that you love me? How did you know that what you feel is love?" I asked further.

"I don't know how to explain it, but on the day that passed, I felt differently about you. Yeah, I admit, at first, it was just fun teasing you, but as time went by, there was something different that I can't explain. It's very different from what I felt for other girls I dated before."

I took a bottle of mineral water and took a sip.

"Do you even know the word 'love'?" I said with a teasing tone, and I saw him furrowing his brows.

"Maybe you just felt challenged because my brother doesn't like me? Maybe you felt challenged because there's one girl who didn't like you, and you wanted her to fall for you, and once she does, you'll just leave her because your goal is already achieved? It's hard to believe that you already love me, in just a small span of time, you said you love me. Unbelievable," I retorted, and he chuckled with a sarcastic tone.

"You, when did you fall in love with my brother?"

"When he went to Baguio to visit your family? How did you fall for him? How long did it take for you to realize that you had feelings for him? If I'm not mistaken, they were there for only a week! That was your first time seeing him, but you loved him immediately until now!" he said, making my eyebrows furrow.

"How did you know?" I asked because what he said was so similar to what happened.

"Speculation."

"You have the nerve to question me about why I feel so quickly for you when the same thing happened to you! Now tell me, Adela, why don't you believe me?" he angrily asked, and I felt angry too because I couldn't pinpoint the exact reason.

"It's because you're a womanizer! I see you with different girls all the time! And you're telling me to believe you just because the same thing happened to me? I don't believe you, Primo, because first of all, we're different! I have no baggage, so I'm sure, but you, with the number of girls you've been with, how can you be so sure that it's me you love?"

"Damn it, Adela! I am fucking sure!" he shouted, and I glared at him, pushing my unfinished food aside.

I was about to leave when he spoke.

"Don't you dare go out. Go to sleep," he said in a cold tone, so I just obeyed. I was scared of his tone; it felt like I turned into a robot because of what he said.

I lay down on my own and pulled the blanket over me.

I heard him put away our leftover food, and I swallowed nervously.

I was angry, but I couldn't match his anger!

When I heard the tent zipper, I glanced at him.

"Where are you going?" I asked angrily.

"I'll be back," he said coldly, but I gave him a stern look.

"You're leaving me here? Okay, fine, go away!" I said in annoyance and hid under the blanket.

Why am I so furious right now?
