CHAPTER 16

"DON'T STARE at me too much, I know I'm handsome but I'm also conscious" Friks said laughing

We are here at the cafeteria sitting on the same spot where I usually sit together with Haidee and others, in the middle. And because he pulled me here after we hugged earlier in the locker hall, I didn't attend my first class.

I just really hope I don't get scolded.

"I actually didn't recognize you" I said and he laughed

"Why? Am I overflowing with handsome now?" He said while smiling at me

"It's not just too much arrogance" I said and he frowned while I laughed.

I couldn't help but look at him because he changed a lot. Back then, he's too skinny but now he has a good body built. He used to look good but he is more handsome now. He also looks clean now and is no longer the same as before.

"By the way, I haven't asked you how you ended up here" I suddenly asked him while eating a chicken sandwich that Friks bought earlier because he was hungry and didn't have breakfast

"I've been studying at Collins High since grade 9 so I have to ask you how you got here" he replied

"If you were in grade 9 when you studied here, where did you study when you left?" I asked him we separated after primary school

"I was in Italy ... but wait, I'm asking you how you ended up here"

"I transferred?" I answered unsurely

"That's it?" Friks asked crookedly

"Yes, that's it" I replied while nodding

What is he expecting?

"You didn't even add details" Friks said flatly

"I had nothing more to say"

"You know you're no fun in telling stories, good thing I'm handsome" Friks answered me so I laughed until he laughed too

He's still boastful.

He used to tease me but we always got each other's back. So we are often mistaken as a couple with our classmates because we are too close and take note, we're just in grade school at that time and they're thinking that there's something between us.

Like, seriously? I'm aware that there are grade school students who enter into a relationship even when they are young but that is just so weird for me.

"Then, do you have friends here already?" it asked me

"Yup, they're actually four but the other one is a bit rude and we don't talk much" I told Friks

I'm referring to Santi, it's not like I'm bad-mouthing him to Friks but I'm just saying what I observed, I can still remember when he saved me and I'm very thankful for it but he called me stupid many times. But still, he's the one who saved me so I'm letting it slipped.

"Really? What were the names of those people and when they were sentenced" Friks said seriously but if I know, that's just a joke

"Haidee, Jonathan, Ryan, and Santi" I said smiling

Speaking of, it would be better if I also introduce them to Friks later.

"WHO?!" Friks shouted loudly

It's a good thing there aren't too many people here since it's still class time.

"Don't shout, it's Haidee then Jonathan then Ryan and Santi" I said slowly

I heard him mumbled something before looking at me.

"Are you sure?" He asked

"Yes"

"How did you become friends?" Friks ask curiously

“It was my first day here and then Haidee was my classmate and then we became friends and we go to the mall, I was against with it by the way you know how much I hate disobeying school rules and then we had a girls bonding and when school is almost over, we came back in school "

"And the three guys?" He asked seriously

"Well, Haidee introduce them to me the next day"

"It was Santi, right?" Friks asked but I didn't understand what he meant

"What?" She asked in confusion

"The rude one you're referring to" Friks said laughing

"Shh, don't be loud" I said quickly to him but he just laughed

"So my Aiz already knows how to say bad things about someone, huh?" Friks said with a smirk on his face

"Of course not! I'm just saying what I noticed" I said while pouting

Is it really bad? that's how Santi is, but maybe, just maybe it can change since I don't really know him deeply.

"I don't believe you! We just separated for a few years yet you already know how to say bad things to others!" He teased

"No, Santi is indeed really rude" I explained while frowning

"Okay, okay" Friks laughed

"Oh, I think you should go in our house because for sure Mommy and Daddy misses you" I said while chewing my food

"Of course, I'm their real child because you're just an adopted child" he laughed teasing me again

I just frown at him and he laughed even harder. He's always like that, teasing me non-stop even before.

I was about to talk when I heard the school bell rang.

It's lunchtime. Have we talked that long?

"I really miss you though" I said while smiling

Gradually the number of students in the cafeteria increased and for some unknown reason, almost everyone who entered the entrance of the cafeteria was looking at us.

"The perks of being too handsome" he said while smirking

"I'm serious! I mean I never thought I'll get to see you again" I explained to him

"I miss you too, Aiz" Friks said and pinch my cheeks

"What about me?"

Friks and I looked at the source of the voice and saw Haidee and Jonathan raising their eyebrows, while Ryan avoided looking at the two while holding back his laughter and Santi looking straight at me.

I quickly averted my eyes.

"Babe!" Friks said happily and then stood up to approach ... Haidee?

Wait ...

"Babe? Uh, are you ...?" I asked curiously

"Yes"

"No"

Friks and Haidee answered at the same time which made me more confused.

"Believe me" Haidee said

"No, you have to believe me" Friks countered

And they started arguing about who I should believe.

"Don't mind them, they're always like that" I looked at Ryan who was next to me

When I look at Jonathan and Santi, they are already sitting.

"Are they..." I asked Ryan

"No, but they always tease each other" Ryan replied and took the fries on the table

When I look in front of me I saw Jonathan whose staring deeply at me.

I was about to ask him why he's staring at me when we heard a voice coming from the speakers of the cafeteria.

"Good day students, I just want to inform all of you that we'll be having our Acquaintance Party this coming Friday, your advisers will discuss the details during our first period in the afternoon, thank you"

The entire cafeteria was filled with shouts and applause because of the announcement.

Even Haidee and Friks who had been arguing earlier were also stopped.

Acquaintance party? Well, I'm already looking forward to it just like the other students.
