New Side

Like any normal boarding school, the Nightingale school allows its students to visit their families back at their home countries every year during summer vacation.

Everyone would be waiting anxiously whenever the summer vacation approached, as they were longing for their families and wanted to catch up with them.

However, Damon didn't really care about the vacation, as he prefered staying behind in the school all alone rather than pay his mother a visit because of his deep-rooted grudge against her.

When the vacation is over and all the students return to school, Damon's classmates would rumble on about the stories they brought along from their home.

Damon would listen to their stories and laugh inside whenever they say something funny, but then he would get back to his usual gloom as he remembers his mother who betrayed his trust, and put sleeping pills in his breakfast.

Justine's POV:

The first time I saw Damon's mother, she had that fragile yet caring aura around her that reminded me of my late grandmother.

When Damon was telling me about his childhood and how did his relationship with his mother end up that way, I couldn't bear him talking badly about his own mother, so I scolded him dearly and showed him that he should not hold a grudge for something like that.

This was when I discovered a new side of Damon; I thought that he wasn't the type of person who would listen to other people's criticism, as he seemed so untouchable to me before we got married.

But unexpectedly he was listening to me scolding him with his head on the ground the whole time, he even admitted his mistake, it seemed as if I'm a mother scolding her own kid because of a mistake he made.

Later after that Damon promised me that he would visit his mother this summer after the exams are over and batch up things with her.

So I agreed with him and didn't bring up that matter again in front of him...

If only I knew back then what would happen in the near future, I would have forced him to go back right away and mend things up with his mother before it's too late.
