War Begins Now

"Knock-knock", knocking the door, I went in. I saw them playing snooker and ran towards them.

"Dad....", saying I ran into my dad. "Arrr... What?", my daddy is surprised. My daddy thought I would come to him so he spread his arms widely to hug me. But to surprise him, I left him there and went to my dad. Haha I know you might be confused. I call my own Dad as daddy and my uncle sometimes as Dad. Are you clear? Shall I continue?

"Haha sorry daddy, I missed you a lot", saying I started hugging my daddy. "I missed you a lot darling. You came two years back but why did you go back again leaving us all here? Grandpa didn't say a word about it."

"Its a secret between me and grandpa so I can't share it with you. Anyways I'm back now, I'm won't go anywhere again", I say.

"Arry come let's play a round", said my uncle. "Uncle snooker is a bit boring, let's have a round of table tennis", saying I winked. "This time I'm not going to lose uncle, I have practiced a lot for two years".

My uncle is an expert in table tennis, but this time I'm not going to sit still and let him win.

"Okay, let's do it Arry. Anyways you are going to lose", he discourages.

"Let's see who loses. So it's a three round game. The person who wins two rounds will win the game. The loser must grant a wish to the winner. Are you ready uncle?", I say it with confidence.

[After first round]

"AAAHHHH uncle", I shout. "Yes, I win. You need to improve a lot", he shouts in excitement.

My daddy starts giving me instructions from the back and I just followed them.

[After second round]

"Yaaayyyyy. I win. I win", I keep on shouting.

"There is still a last one. Let's see who wins", my uncle says it very angrily.

[After last round]

"Yyyessssssss. I win. I win. Finally after two years of practice. Yes...", I shout.

"Okay tell me your wish. I will grant you one", says my uncle.

"Mmmmm... Let me think. I don't have any wishes now. I will ask you when I want something uncle", I say it and go to my daddy.

"Thanks, daddy all because of you", I murmur in his ears.

My uncle listens to me and says, "Oooooo. This is how you won the game, by cheating. Your wish is canceled. Come here... Come here right now".

"Sorry uncle, but you need to grant me the wish. However, it is, I finally won the game. Bye, see you guys later", shouting I ran out of the room.

"Hey, this is not fair, man. How can you support her? I have a wish that she can only fulfill for me", says my uncle to my dad.

"She is my daughter. Who will I support instead of her? And what is your wish, I will fulfill it if possible", says my dad.

"I want your daughter to become my daughter-in-law. Is it possible for you to do it?", asks my uncle.

"It's her decision. You know once she decides on something she won't back out. But we can try because she has not yet decided on this", says my dad and their conversation goes on.

*WRITER," The above conversation is not heard by Arica."*

Ahhh after a long day I left to my apartment. It was so much fun, I hope everyone liked their gifts.

When I took my car into the parking lot I noticed balloons flying over my space. When I went near I saw a few bags with those balloons. To that balloons, I saw a note saying, "Hope you reached home safe. Take care. -Kevin"

"Aaasshhhh this guy. What's with him? How much direct should I be? This is frustrating", shouting I went to my flat. I got fresh and was just thinking to have juice and some snacks instead of dinner, doorbell rang.

"Mam you've got a delivery", shouted that person.

"I didn't order anything. What it might be?", thinking I opened the door.

"Mam here is your delivery. Payment is already done. So please sign here", he said.

"May I know who ordered it? Because I didn't order any", I asked him.

"You have got a note inside. Enjoy your food. Thank you. Have a good day", he said and left.

"Thank you. Drive safe", saying I closed the door. I keep on wondering who might have ordered this. It smells like chicken and I can see beer, which is my most favorite combination.

I found a note saying, " I know you would be skipping your meal because you are too lazy to cook. Have your meals properly and don't drink too much."

But the strange thing is there is no name on the note and what does this mean "don't drink too much". How much do you expect me to drink, when you have only sent me one can. But thanks for the meal, whoever it is, this person knows me very well. But it's weird because I never ate chicken in front of anyone and no one knows it's my favorite food. How come they know?

Thanks to someone I had a great meal. My tummy is happy. I'm happy.

Next two days went in a blur and here comes Monday. My first day to the company and a really challenging day. I have to prepare myself for all the consequences of my past. I know everyone would be calling me by "Work witch". When I get involved in the work, I want everything perfect. So sometimes I may be scolding them if they don't work properly, though I encourage them always. You know that right, people will always see one bad thing than the hundreds of good things.

Finally, I dressed up in a complete professional attire. Today grandpa just wants to see the environment around and then he will be assigning me a post.

"Okay Arica Ford, there's nothing to worry about. I know two years back it was not your mistake, but you took it on your name and left. Peoples job is to speak, so why are you worried about them. This is not your style. Wear your confidence and positive energy, and put your chin up. With full on attitude, face your day. Don't let anyone look down on you. Fighting!!", I encouraged myself in front of the mirror and left my room.

In front of the door, someone left a basket of blue roses with a note saying, "All the best for your first day. -Kevin". "Thanks for your encouragement Kevin", I thought.

Something struck my mind, but soon I left for the company.

[At the office, in Rob's cabin]

"Sir today Arica mam is coming to the company. Chairman has decided to officially make her one of the board directors", Rob's assistant gave him information.

"War begins now. I waited my whole life for this moment. She got everything damn easily. Though she has done a huge mistake two years back, grandpa is still interested to give her everything. How can he do this to his own grandson for someone else's granddaughter? This is not fair grandpa. You give her everything that's mine. But I can't let you give my company to her", Rob expressed himself aggression.

[Arica enters the company]

"Who is she? Woww. She looks like a model."

"Is she joining the company or is she just visiting the place."

"She is damn sexy in here professional outfit man."

Men won't change. They have no other work than commenting on women. When I entered the company all started seeing me as if they have never seen a girl in their life.

"Close your mouth guys", saying I took the lift and went to my grandpa's office.

[At grandpa's office]

"Heyy grandpa. Good morning."

"Morning darling. I thought you won't be coming at least for a week or two. You are more obedient than I thought", says my grandpa.

"Aaaasshhhh... How much trust this old man has on me. I know why you are saying that. I too thought of skipping for a week, but whenever it is I have to come. So I came", I said.

"Anyways I'm appointing you as one of the board directors. You need to be more careful with other directors. They are just waiting for a chance. You need to be more careful with Rob because all his eyes are on the Chairman seat. I know I shouldn't be saying that but I want you to become next Chairman", says my grandpa.

"Grandpa I can understand you, but I don't want to get into this office politics. I just want to lead a calm and peaceful life. I know how much Rob wants to become Chairman. Can't you just make him? Anyhow, I'm also not interested in it", I say.

"Don't act like a kind one in this selfish world. You won't be getting anything if you do so. I didn't give you anything you deserved. This is my responsibility to do atleast this. Keep calm and follow my instructions. And one more thing don't change your attitude. Just be yourself as you were before", encourages my grandpa.

"Okay fine I'll just follow you", I agreed with what he said.

"The meeting is going to start in an hour. Be prepared. You can take a look at the company until then. Victoria will be your assistant from now on. She will show you your cabin", says my grandpa.

"Victoria...??", with an amazed expression.

"Good morning mam. How have you been?", says Victoria from the back.

"Ooohhh Victo... I'm good. I missed you so much. How have you been? Hey, you have become more beautiful. Did you be my eyes and ears all the time? I want every detail while I was not here", I ask her.

"Yes mam, sure", says Victoria.

"Victoria show up her cabin and give her the files I gave you. Explain everything in detail. I know that she won't mess up. But anyway take care of it properly", grandpa instructs Victoria.

"I'm not a small kid grandpa. I can manage", I say angrily.

"Ok. Ok. Cool down and be at the meeting on time", says my grandpa.

"Ok see you then. Come on Victo. Lead me to my cabin. I hope this old man has made my cabin according to my taste", I say and leave.

"Again old man...", says my grandpa annoyingly.

[Inside the cabin]

"Ohh wow... So grandpa knows my taste the best... I like to have my desk in front of the window", I express my happiness after seeing my cabin.

"It was Mr. Robert's planning. Grandpa assigned him to work on the interior of your room", Victoria says.

"Is that so? How come he knows my taste this well. Anyways I love it", I say.

"How was your trip mam. Two years, it's so long", Victoria says.

"Yeah... I missed all of you. But it was not in my hands. If I wanted to deal the matter quietly that was the only way. Did anything important happen while I was not here?", I ask Victoria.

"Yes mam, many things happened. But most important is Mr. Robert got a new girlfriend who works for his department", says Victoria.

"I know about this. Anything more I need to know", I ask.

"Yes, mam... She is..." when Victoria was saying someone interrupted us.

"Mam, Chairman instructed you to be in the meeting in five minutes", says that person.

"Okay, I will be there in five. You can leave", I told him and he leaves.

"Victo get me my bag. I need a touch-up. I need to look the best because the First Impression is the Best Impression. I'm already prepared if they start opposing me", I say.

"Yes, mam. All the best", Victoria cheers me and we start going to the conference room.

[On the way to the conference room]

When I'm going towards the meeting room, Rob comes in my way.

"All the best. But you won't be having the upper hand this time", he says.

"Is it? Let's see. You know me for twenty years, do you think I'm going to lose something this easy. It's your luck that I have not made my decision completely", I say it arrogantly.

"Let's see. Then...", saying, he gives a smirk and opens the door for me.

"Thank you", I say and got inside.

[Inside the room]

"Good Morning Directors. Welcome to the conference. Today, the main purpose of this meeting is Arica will be appointed as one of the directors of this organization. I hope you all will abide by my decision", starts my grandpa.

"Thank you, Chairman. Hello everyone. I'm Arica Ford and I have completed my degree recently at Stanford University. You people might think that I'm still young for this role, but I have every news about this company. From childhood, I was raised as one of the members of this company. I will use all my skills for the development of the company. Thank you", saying I introduce myself.

"Thank you, Arica. And coming back, does anyone have objections to my decision?", says my grandpa.

"Yes, I have objections", says Rob.
