Love to be hated

Noah notices someone staring at him from the moment he entered the class. He looks around and finds a girl constantly glaring at him. He quickly turns back and sits hesitatingly as he remembers seeing her and her friends in the parking lot. 'That's a trouble you should definitely avoid Noah', he thinks. Ava who has been staring at him for so long, smirks to see him get nervous because of her. Allen notices Ava smirking and asks, "Why are smirking Ava? What is so interesting?" Ava points out at Noah. "Oh! That nerd. I don't see anything special in him, except … for maybe… do you want to…" "Allen, do you know him?" Ava demands. "Well, kind of. His friend George is the one on a school sports team. He just does not talk much with others but his best friend. Who would wanna talk with that nerd anyway." Allen remarks. "Yeah, I think I found my new target for the term. What is his name by the way?" Ava says while her gaze constantly fixed at Noah." "Norman, null, what was it? Nerd….. oh yeah, Noah, Noah Carter, such a boring name." 'Well, Noah Carter, you are mine.' Ava thinks with a fishy smile on her face. Noah was busy listening to George's endless talking that he forgot about the one staring at him. Ava gets up and goes near Noah and taps on his shoulder. Noah turns around to see when suddenly Ava gets really close to Noah's face. Noah startles at this closeness with his eyes wide open. His reaction was enough for Ava's delight. She gets close to his ear as he tries to create a distance between them by moving his head back but she grabs his head with her hand and whispers in his ear, "I saw you in the parking lot scaredy-cat. You kinda got my attention so deal with it now."

First Glance

Noah's POV

The whole ride school was typically filled with Georgie's non-ending, everlasting stories. Sometimes he makes me wonder, how can a person talk so much for so long without getting tired. But I love listening to him talk endlessly, though I will never tell him that, as he fills in the silences and I do not have to do much talking for the fact Georgie talks enough for both of us.

George is my best friend. Okay okay, let me rephrase that, George is my best friend and the only friend I have. It is not like I am that unlikable, but I prefer to keep my distance. And to be honest I hate being social. It just invites too much trouble and building and keeping relations is not my type. George is exceptional. When a kid follows you all day long and keeps blabbering in your ear the whole day, it kind of grows on you, doesn't it? So that's how George became my friend, and this is the one and only relation that I don't have regrets about.

We reached the parking lot. I get out from the passenger's seat just to get in again.

"What happened? Why did you get back in? Is my topper friend planning to bunk on the first day itself?" George asks with a playful smile on his face as he playfully elbows me.

"Shut up dude. There's a tussle going on between people out there. You definitely won't like to get dragged along." I warn George.

"A fight? On the first day itself? Wow, that seems exciting. I really want to see it. Come on Noah, we will just see it from far. Please, please."

"NO! I do not want to get into other's matters. I am surely not into something that has to do with the gangs of 'our prestigious school'", I emphasize when I say that. Well, school gangs do scare me a little bit. A little involvement and it would lead to disaster.

"So, what do you want to do? Sit inside the car and wait for them to leave?" George demands still being restless to go out and see the fight. What is so exciting, I do not get it.

"Yep, that's the plan. If you want to go out and get involved, go but I won't." I close my eyes and rest knowing very well that George won't step out without me.

"Pfft" George sighs defeated. I chuckle at his reaction.

Third POV

Ava and her friends were leaving the parking lot when a car stops in front of them.

"Not on the first day itself, Gosh." Olivia complains.

"Oh, look who do we have here. Our one and only David." Allen says.

"What's up Ava Collins? How was the end break?" The guy named David says while smirking as he sits on the top of his car's hood.

"Oh, well. It was definitely better than yours as I was not the one spending my days in the hospital for half of the break, crying over broken bones in his mommy's arms. Umm, guys, who was it again, my poor memory, can't recall minor day to day events." Ava provokes David who is glaring at her with an angry expression.

"Oh yeah Ava, it was David, if I am not wrong. The one who was begging us to spare his life. You almost wet your pants that day, didn't you?" Cole playfully laughs.

"Oh really? Let's see who's going to wet his pants today, shall we?" David says angrily as he gets near Cole and was about to hold his collar but Gray comes in front of him.

"You surely would not want to do that. Especially when I am standing right here." Gray speaks angrily as he pushes him away from Cole.

"I am really going to teach you a lesson very soon Cole. You talk too much for your age. I am going to fuck up that pretty face of…" before David could finish, a hard punch was delivered right on his face which made him fall on the ground and gave him a busted lip.

Gray was about to punch him again when he got up and moved back. David did not see this coming, so he was taken back by the punch and of course, Gray's punches are not that easy to take.

"You! You guys are going to be dead meat this time. I am warning you, do not take my words lightly. It will not be like last time. We are fully prepared" David scoffs as he walks away.

Cole slowly got near Gray. To be honest, Cole also got a bit scared after seeing Gray in anger but he would never let Gray know otherwise Gray will pull his leg every single time and he, without a doubt, does not want that to happen.

"Gray you did not have to do that. You know I can deal with it myself." Cole says to Gray who is still staring at the direction in which David went away. He just cannot control his anger. The cool-headed guy does get angry when provoked and this was about Cole for that matter.

"Yeah, right. You can definitely handle that KIDDO" saying this Gray runs around the others as Cole chases after him to hit him. All of them laugh and walk towards their classes.

.

..

Noah and George were waiting in the car for all of this to finish while George was getting restless to move out.

"Are they gone yet? I really really really want to go out, Noah." George whines.

"AHH this boy, let me see." Noah gets down from the car and he looks around and saw Ava and her friends leaving the parking lot.

Noah sighs. He turns around to inform George.

"Yep, Georgie. We can leave now"

Noah and George leave for their classes.

'Can't believe they already had such a great start of this term.' Noah thought while walking towards the class.

He had not noticed that Ava had already seen him when he rushed back to the car on seeing them argue with David.

"What a scaredy-cat?" Ava mocks in her mind.

The lecture was about to start, they literally ran through the corridor to reach on time.
