Shiang City

'Vroooom'

A speeding motorbike zipped in and out of traffic causing multiple honks and swerves, a few near crashes almost resulted at that, as a young girl maniacally roared in laughter. Donning a dark purple, leather pants, black v-neck tee, a black leather jacket, and a purple helmet, it almost seemed as if she was being chased by the king of hell himself!

"Tch… they should just get out of my way! Can't they see that i need to get through here! Useless! They are all useless!" The girl spouted in the midst of her laughter.

Shouldering a bright yellow pack on her back, she weaved and dodged her way out of the city. Li Shou headed towards an old abandoned shack. One could see moss covering the outer layer, cobwebs strewn from the trees to the top of the roof, broken and weathered wood clinging to the main framework. The windows were covered with mud and you could see a few chips and cracks here and there on them. Creepy… well that would be one word for it. Though the thought that anyone would come here would be an extreme that one could never fathom.

After she parked her bike, she took slow strides up the creaking steps. Approaching the door, it almost looked as if it would shatter from a single touch! Shou leisurely opened the door and strode inside, closing it behind her. The sight that welcomed her was beyond what would be imagined after the scene outside. A grand spacious living room, adorned with glittering gold trim, white marbled floor, amethyst pillars in each corner, and black tasteful furniture.

Sitting on the long couch sipping tea was Fu Ruishi. Ruishi coldly glanced at his new intruder. Seeing it was the overly energetic Shou… he opted to resume his original stance.

"Shishi… why are you always so cold to me? *sigh* Still stuck in this house? You know the time is coming, aren't you supposed to be on some heavenly mission? Guarding a masterless house isn't exactly productive you know…?"

"…"

"Ugh! At least respond! I came all the way here to bring you your most precious weapon and here you are giving me the cold shoulder! At least greet me properly!" Shou puffed her tiny cheeks at the man as the aura surrounding him had yet to warm up.

"Set it in the bedroom" Ruishi icily replied and went back to his tea not even sparing her a glance.

After placing the pack in the bedroom, when she returned a new elegant tea cup was placed opposite his seat. Sitting down she spared no thought and poured her tea for herself.

He has been this way for the last 25 years. Ever since he lost his master Ruishi holed himself up in this shack and refused to exit. 10 days ago he was given a mission from the upper realm, to find and safeguard his new master. The once proud and loyal lion Fu Ruishi lost his spark the day his master died, he blamed himself for that fateful day and refused to gain another. With his confidence lost he would rather be gone from this world, but being from a race of heavenly guardian lions, that will never come to pass unless he was killed on the battlefield.

Seeing Ruishi remaining his stoic self, Shou dropped a hint…

"She has been found you know? And 'He' is closing in on her. We have waited 25 years since the Crimson Moon shone last… this is our duty, how can you stay here?"

A glimmer shone in Ruishi's eyes for a passing second. Almost as if life began to filter itself back into that muscled body again.

Glancing up from his cup he stared intently on the beauty in front of him.

"Do you have her location?" His nonchalant, mellow voice rang throughout the room.

"Roughly, there are hints in the west near the myopia forest. She may not stay for long though, it seems she is on the move." Shou shrugged her shoulders and continued to sip her tea.

Tapping his long elegant fingers on the table before him, he glanced up to the ceiling and sighed. 'Do I even have the ability anymore? What if I fail again?'

He closed his emerald hued eyes that could pull the universe into them and made his decision. As he got up he told Shou "Get ready we leave in an hour."

Lunar Forest

Peacefully unaware of all of the chaos heading to her direction, Lin Kirin passed her time practicing her magic. Shapeshifting was something new to her since she had that dream last night. When she was born she was raised by an old sage in the forest, He taught her some basic magic and told her she had a destiny, never once telling her what it was.

"One day you will leave this forest, those that surround you will help protect you. So welcome them, but be wary, there are those that will harm you my dear." The old sage worriedly told her.

Her form when she transformed was blinding, strong slender legs, a snow white coat of fur, long silver mane and tail, and the purest amethyst crystal horn settled between her elegant ears. Kirin almost could be considered glowing. It was a dazzling sight that hasn't been seen in the modern world before. Which was why she was raised in isolation, away from prying eyes, dangers, and malice.

Mischievous as she could be in the lonely forest, that was just to pass the time. Her elegance regardless of form could rival the most ancient of noble and royal bloodlines. Though she was taught many things from the world, she was also warned of the evil and hate that existed along with it. The old sage tried to never shield her from the truth of this world. He knew one day she would leave and would have to face the reality. Her decision after the trials that faced her would shape the future.

Spells, abilities, and fighting techniques were all derived for Kirin to be able to protect herself. The practical knowledge she was given about world affairs, however outdated, were all meant for a purpose. She was never really opinionated about it during lessons but real life application and witnessing the world… that may show a new problem in her mind.
