Connecticut rested her head over Carter's back, ears carefully tuned to her sister's breathing. It had been a harsh two weeks with Carter suffering an intense MS attack that took away the use of her rear fins. She was beginning to regain some feeling in them and Connecticut was hopeful that she'd be able to move on her own soon. But it wasn't her mobility that Connecticut was concerned about now. It was her lungs. They had been under constant stress with all her coughing and even now she breathed with a wheeze. At least the coughs had stopped for now. Carter lay on her side, fast asleep. Connecticut applied a mint salve to her sister's chest as she did every few hours. Almost immediately, the salve eased her stress and helped her relax.
