The Meeting (2)

"I try to forget and erase

But I get reminded of that person more"

----------------------------------------------

The sound of a knock woke me up from my deep sleep. I opened my quilt a bit only to be greeted by the cold air and can't help to burrow myself in the quilt again. Just before I fell too deep in my sleep, I heard a knock again on the door. I ignored it and covered my head with the quilt.

"Kyle, wake up, it's morning already."

"Just 5 more minutes," I answered absentmindedly. There was no sound anymore, so I slept again without a care. Suddenly, the quilt opened and someone whispered in my ear, "Wake up or I'll kiss you."

I opened my eyes abruptly and sat down, looking at the man with a mischievous smile on his face. My face flushed red and I can only say weakly, "Okay I woke up already, stop teasing me."

"Hahaha, you finally wake up. Sorry for teasing you, I made breakfast, lets eat downstairs," he patted my head lightly then walked to the window and unveiled the curtain. The sun light shone on his face giving a holy feeling. He totally looked like a beautiful angel, I thought.

George opened the window and held out his hand. Some drop of water fell into his hand. The scene looked so beautiful I can't avert my gaze. It gave me this feeling, this sort of bedazzlement, that hard to shake.

"Look at that, the snow pilled up a lot last night, the bus probably won't run today. Why don't you stay at my place again tonight?" He turned and looked at me. I nodded my head subconsciously. By the time I snapped back from my stupor, he was already so close to my face, waving his hand in front of my face while calling my name.

"Uh, sorry, what were you talking again?" I scratched my head in embarrassment.

"Hahaha, why do you keep daydreaming? Tell me, what are you thinking about?" He sat on my bed and propped his chin while looking straight at me. I stared at his eyes, in this close distance I can see his clear blue eyes, seriously blue like the color of the cloudless sky. His eyelashes long, curled, and thick. I had never seen eyes more beautiful than his.

"Your eyes, it's beautiful," I blurted out. A second later, I realized what I said was so embarrassing I could die right at this moment. He looked stunned, then a wide smile plastered on his face. I saw his eyes sparkled when he smiled, so bright and lively. I gaped at this sight and my heart beat so fast I thought my chest will burst.

"Go wash your face and come down, lets eat breakfast together," he said, his eyes curved a little, a slightly teasing smile on his face. I observed George walked to the door, his every move was graceful like a noble.

When the door closed, I tried to calm my crazily beating heart. I swung the quilt and headed to the bathroom, washed my face briskly not even minding the cold water.

A few minutes later, I saw on the table has been neatly arranged the slices of bread with fried eggs and sausages. A pot of chrysanthemum tea was still steaming. We ate our breakfast peacefully, without much talk. After we ate, we sat at the sofa on the living room.

"By the way, what were you doing last night? How could you stranded at this place?" George asked seemingly casually.

"Ah, I wanted to go to my aunt house, I think it should be 3 or 4 stop from here, but I fell asleep and missed the stop, then I saw the light from your place, and the rest you already know."

George raised his eyebrows slightly, "What are you, a five years old? Haha."

I blushed at his remark. "I.. I was tired.. so.." stammering, I retorted him. He smiled at me and stroked my hair.

"I realized that your hair is so smooth, it's nice," he kept stroking my hair gently. I can feel my face burning and my heart beat faster and faster.

"This isn't good for my heart!!!" I screamed in my head.

I stood up abruptly and ran to the bathroom while shouting, "I need to go to the bathroom first." I heard a brief outburst of laughter and I felt my face burning hot. I entered the bathroom and slammed the door.

"What to do.. what to do..calm down, me.. calm down.." I panicked and walked back and forth inside the small bathroom. I washed my face again and the cold water helped me to calm down a little.

I looked at my own reflection in the mirror. "Kyle you dummy, get yourself together! What the hell are you doing, blushing and flustered like some teenager." I wiped my face with a towel and tidied myself before going back to the living room.

When I got back, I saw George was leaning on the sofa, his mouth busy munching a bag of snack. I only knew him for a day, but I was amazed by how his personality was so carefree and outgoing. But when he was silent he exudes an enchanting beauty like a prince and full of elegance. This contradicting temperament was simply too adorable.

"Hey Kyle, what some snacks?"

"Sure, thanks."

We ate snacks and watched television all morning. We laughed and chatted a lot. George was kind and funny. It was so much fun talking with him, I felt like we've been friends since forever.

From our talks, I knew that he lived alone here because his parents work overseas. His parents rarely went home, so he used to live with his relatives when he was small. He was an art student, he even promised me that he will show me some of his works later. His eyes turned brighter and brighter when we talked about art. He looked so excited, even when I don't understand art much I just listened to him talked.

One more point that amazed me was, he was so good at cooking. In the afternoon, he cooked a simple lunch. He only cooked a spaghetti carbonara, but it tasted better than the one sold on the restaurant close to my apartment.

"You are so good at cooking, you can even open a restaurant!" I can't help but praised him. George only laughed heartily and told me to eat more. His eyes full of joy filled me with an indescribable sense of happiness. I knew that with each passing second, I fell in love with him more.

When we were done with eating, I helped him washed the dishes. After that, we watched the television again. Just like this, the night came and it started snowing again.

After dinner, we talked and talked until so late at night. I yawned when I saw it was already almost 12. No wonder my eyelids felt so heavy it can barely open. George saw that I can fell asleep anytime then told me to get some rest. We said goodnight to each other and went to our own room.

That night, I slept with a smile on my face.

What do you think? I hope you like it!
