"So what happened today to lift your mood," Evelyn asked, drinking her green tea.

"Nothing, I just found out how stupid I have been over the years." Clara giggled.

"Finally." Evelyn laughed, "God has listened to my prayers and blessed you with some brain."

Evelyn and Clara had become best friends over the months. They had clicked a long time ago, and as they talked with each other, they understood each other. Their conversations have turned from being strict and business-like to funny and sarcastic.

The mood was good, and the ambiance was lively. The night session had just ended, and now both of them were enjoying a relaxation time.

"Do enlighten me, my grace." Evelyn joked.

"hmm... before that, is Kyle trying to talk with you?" Clara asked in hesitation. His name was taboo here.

"Yes," it was a short answer.

"And you have been refusing him?" Clara asked in a questioning tone.

"I never knew you were still hung up on him?" Evelyn's eyes narrowed, "Did you run a background check on him recently?"

"W-What? of course, not" Clara's eyes shook in irritation. Her eyes widened, thinking about the possibility.

"You are still stupid," Evelyn chuckled, "Control your expressions."

"Ohh... I overreacted. I was just shocked, so." Clara clarified.

Evelyn shook her head, "And we still have to work on your EQ."

Clara was speechless. Her progress rate is so low. More hard work on her way, Clara thought.

"Back to the point." Evelyn urged, "why did you ask?"

"Oh... I happened to hear them today." Clara's voice turned to giggle. The look on Layla's face was worth all her efforts.

Clara explained today's incident to Evelyn in a happy mood.

"Did you react there?" Evelyn asked, her voice was filled with concern.

"N-No, not at all," Clara reassured, "They didn't even recognize me."

Clara was proud of her skills. There was a feeling of achievement.

"That's good then," Evelyn was in deep thoughts, there were many things that were revolving around her mind.

"What do you think about the situation?" Evelyn asked suddenly, which started Clara, who was engrossed in her own thoughts.

"About?"

"Why do you think Kyle wanted to meet me?" Evelyn asked, carefully observing Clara's reaction.

Clara thought for a few minutes to analyze everything in her mind before replying.

"He wants to start something up which he feels is a safe option to try his hands on," Clara continued, "He wants the finances because Kyle wants to prove that without Black's influence he could be able to achieve anything,"

"And why is it so important?"

"He is in love with someone the family does not approve of," Clara's voice shook at the end.

" I thought you did not know about them until recently."

"I didn't, but he had been talking about it for a long time." Clara's heart is filled with old memories.

"To be honest, I thought he was talking about me. Our families are not on good terms even though the younger generation get along well." Clara sighed.

"It was only recently that I knew the person who was able to make Kyle like this was not me."

"Hmm.." Evelyn knew the feeling well. She sympathizes with Clara, but she wanted to make Clara more strong.

"Layla will call you soon," Evelyn commented.

"Uh?" Clara was confused, "No, she won't." The confidence in Clara's words makes Evelyn's eyes twinkle. A playful smile played on her face.

After Kyle warned her, the girl would not dare. Clara was sure of it.
