Chapter 5 Cielo\'s Wrath

Helene's face darkened even more when she heard this, and she scowled at Cielo with a harsh expression.

Cielo pursed her lips together in concentration. Was 'Troy' acting in such a way on purpose?

Cielo was pulled into the living room by Helene due to this incident. It was only then that she decided to shake Cielo's handoff.

She glared at Cielo, her face contorted with rage in her eye. "Who the heck is that man?" Helene asked.

"He's Tyler's cousin," Cielo said after a moment's thought.

"Slap!"

Cielo's face was smacked in the beginning without any warning. Cielo's ears were humming from the force with which Heleen had hit her.

"How could you be so blatantly self-centered? On your first day of marriage, you're already having fun with your husband's cousin! What a waste of time! What exactly are your thoughts? Make sure you don't include the Hill in this mess!"

Cielo dropped her eyes and rubbed the side of her face that had become numb from the agony. "Why didn't you ask me whether I was doing it voluntarily?" she questioned, looking up at Heleen with a chilly expression on her face.

Whatever the situation, Helene would always tell her off without asking her why she had done it in the first place.

"One is a worthless cripple with a damaged face, while the other is a normal, healthy guy. They are incomplete contrast. There are no awards for predicting who you would choose. Were you also able to spend the night with this "relative" of your husband's?"

The sound of a sweet feminine voice could be heard coming down the stairs. It was a gentle voice, but it was filled with hate.

As soon as Helene saw Vivian come down the stairs, she raced up to her and said, "Clarisse, are you feeling better?"

"I'm feeling a lot better now, Mom," Clarisse said as she smiled at Helene. She then stepped up to Cielo said, "Thank you. I understand how you're feeling. However, you must remember that our family is also involved. Don't go over the line here,"

Clarisse had just watched Cielo and a guy having an intimate encounter in the automobile while standing by the upstairs window. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that Cielo, who on the surface looked to be foolish and unattractive, would be endowed with the capacity to captivate men.

After that, she turned to face Helene and said, "Am I right, Mom?" with a sly grin.

In the blink of an eye, Helene's face lit up with joy. "Of course, you're correct, Clarisse," she responds.

Claire clenched her hands and squeezed her lips together without saying anything.

Clarisse seemed to be Helene's biological daughter from the perspective of those who did not know her.

Helene had been attempting to satisfy everyone in the Hill family for many years to establish herself as a part of the family, whether by fair means or foul, to get acceptance. On the other hand, Cielo was treated as if she were an adopted kid by her mother.

"Cielo, since you've already married into the Smith family, you should respect your position. Avoid bringing our family into disrepute," Helene said, pulling her grin away and looking at Cielo with a severe face.

Cielo dropped her eyes to conceal the sarcasm that was bursting from them. The look on her face suggested that she had been mistreated as she responded, in a calm voice, "I'm sorry." "Something has come to mind as a result of your words. Whether I was to do something wrong one day, I wonder if the Smith family would be so enraged that they would destroy the whole Hill family due to my transgression.

Clarisse had not expected Cielo, who had always been a softie, to say such a cruel thing to her. "What do you mean?" she said, furrowing her brows more.

"It's precisely what you heard." Cielo raised her head and blinked. Her face was expressionless and unremarkable from her regular self.

Did Helen and Clarisse genuinely believe that they were still in control over me?

She had previously given them permission to do so since she still had hoped for her mother. However, when Helene compelled her to marry Tyler on Clarisse's behalf, there was no chance for them.

"How dare you!"

This was the first time Cielo had taken a stand against Clarisse despite having been under her control for a lengthy period of time.

Clarisse was so enraged that she glared at Cielo before going to face Helene, "Mom, I was simply trying to be helpful by offering her some advice. What gave her the right to act out?"

Helene, of course, picked up on the threat in Clarisse's comment. However, she believed that Cielo had never failed to compromise her in the past...she put on the air. She urged firmly, "Cielo, apologize to Clarisse as soon as possible!"
