Chapter 27 Fallen In Love With Eliz
Pierce, who was having a drink in the booth behind her, was among the onlookers. He stalks Eliz to the Bar. Little did she know, Pierce had installed a tracker in her phone. Now, he could detect Eliz wherever she was.
"Who is he, Honey?" Pierce rushed over and pulled Eliz into his arms. He looked into Eliz's eyes affectionately.
"You... Why are you here?" Eliz asked nervously.
"I was worried about you. After you told me that you are going to meet a scumbag today, how could I leave you alone?" Pierce held Eliz in his arms in a bossy manner. He held Eliz close to his chest in a way as if he was holding one of his most prized possessions. His frivolous gesture seemed to intimidate Mavi and declared his ownership over the girl in his arms.
"Eliz is my wife. How do you think we know each other?" Pierce narrowed his eyes coldly at Mavi as he replied on behalf of Eliz. It sounded as if he were teasing his challenger. Mavi was a bit overwhelmed by the bossy manner of the guy.
He said to Mavi, "I will spare your life today, but you will not survive beyond tomorrow."
"Why?" Eliz asked. "For what?" she added. Eliz's face was evident with shock. She had a feeling that Mavi was in great danger
"What do you think?" Pierce retorted. There was something in his crooked smile.
"Let's go," Pierce said to Eliz without expression. Eliz knew it was more of an order to be followed.
Pierce released a deep breath and said, "You know what? Indeed, I'm a little jealous of him," he admitted. Pierce stared outside the car window to hide his disappointment. His brown eyes darkened for telling the truth. Tonight, Pierce confirmed his suspicion that Eliz cared about Mavi.
"I am jealous that he knew you earlier than I did." Pierce's handsome face was hazy while explaining what he meant.
"Anyway, thank you for what you did tonight," Eliz said sincerely as she looked at Pierce.
It was quite late at night. After dropping Eliz at home, Pierce drove home alone. His cell phone rang.
"Boss, I've got the news from the police." Fred's voice came from the other end of the line.
"He said there was no evidence to prove that Mavi was involved in what happened to the company of the Navarro Family."
"No evidence? Then give the police some evidence to put Mavi into jail. Remember, before tomorrow morning I want to hear the news that he is in jail." Pierce still kept a straight face. However, his face was full of hatred and ruthlessness.
"Did Miss Navarro upset you tonight, Boss?" Fred asked with a sneer.
"No, she didn't," Pierce denied straight away. Yet Eliz's image kept lingering in his mind. He wondered why his mind was so preoccupied with her.
Fred grumbled, but he didn't say anything. He assumed that his young master had fallen in love with Eliz. Otherwise, Pierce would not have dealt with Mavi for her sake.
"Okay, you may rest assured that I'll do it right away."
The next morning, the news of Mavi being arrested was spread all over Milan, Italy. The breaking news for the major media houses was all about how he framed the Campari Group. It seemed that someone had been planning to frame him. Celine was also put behind bars because of the suspected disclosure of business secrets.
After reading the message, Eliz rubbed her eyes in disbelief. 'Mavi is in jail, which means my father can now be released!' she thought happily.
Elizabeth was also very happy to hear the news. Hugging each other tightly, the mother and daughter cried happily.
Before Eliz could think more, her phone started to ring.
She went back to her room and picked up the phone. It was Pierce.
"So? How is it going? Are you satisfied with the news?" Pierce smiled coldly on the other side of the phone.
A sense of piercing chill struck Eliz's heart, just like an arrow, traveling through space of time. She had underestimated the ability and tactics of Pierce.
Now it seemed that he was an extremely dangerous man who could run the show in Milan by a mere movement of his fingers!
"When will my father get out?" Eliz's expression showed displeasure. When Pierce was his normal self, he was as good as a real gentleman. But when he was not, he acted like a schizophrenic. She was afraid that he would trap her.
"Eliz, that depends on when you comply with my request. If you promise me what I want, your father can be free the next minute," continued Pierce. He squinted his brown eyes. He tried to scrutinize the piece of paper he was toying within his hand. It was the same document that sent Mavi to prison.
"Well, move out and live with me tomorrow. In the morning, precisely before 10, your father can go home. Then you and your mother can also return to the MC Garden," he replied softly
"Okay, but how can I get there?" Eliz retorted after calming herself down.
"I will send someone to pick you up. Tell your parents that you will move out. You will only have one night to stay with them."
Pierce was a man who seriously kept his word. At exactly ten o'clock in the morning, Stanley went home.
Elizabeth and Eliz were eagerly waiting at the MC Garden. They were both nervous and excited at the same time. And to welcome Stanley, Eliz even applied for a half day's leave.
"Dad, you're finally back." Eliz couldn't stop herself from crying. But knowing that her father was here now, relief washed over her.
"Dad, Mom, I have something to tell you," Eliz cleared her throat and said in a soft voice.
Our hospital is working on a research project, and I've participated in it. So, I'm quite busy with it. Our colleagues have decided to move into the hospital, so it's convenient for the smooth progress in our research work."
"So? Are you going to move out? Eliz?" Elizabeth asked in a joyful tone.
"Yes, Mom, it may take a month before I come back home," Eliz replied as she looked up and nodded.
"Okay, Dear, when are you planning to move out?" Elizabeth counter questioned Eliz with a big smile on her face.
"I'll have to move out tomorrow, Mom," Eliz said with a heavy voice.
"Okay, make haste and move out. Your father and I would finally have the house entirely for ourselves. We can enjoy each other's company in a relaxed atmosphere," Elizabeth raised one brow and joke.
"But, my dear, you should take good care of yourself when you are in the hospital. Okay? I know you work very hard, but remember not to ignore your health.
"Okey!"After hearing Stanley's words, Eliz's eyes turned red, and she nodded her head.
