CHAPTER 5

My love, my darling, my everything.

You're more than every girl I see, your eyes are so beautiful.There you are my love, so beautiful like a rose, so loving like a queen.I want to see you in sight, see your hands in mine so that I can feel that warmth which is so fine.

My dearest Jane, I love you so much, I love you like a cup of tea In my heart I believe there is no one who can love you like I do,I cherish you and the times we have spent together.

I promise not to leave you but to be yours forever, I pray that you feel the same way too.

My love for you is stronger than you think, the same way you accepted me is the same way you should take good care of our relationship.

I finished writing and slept, what a day it was for me. The next morning was another day with a different drama. I work up a little late, prepared for school and off I ran for school, never cared about having my breakfast because I was late already, for sure when I arrived at school my class mates where all in classes not forgetting the other pupils. I knocked on the classroom door, head my teacher say "come in", I entered then she asked why I was late, I did not lie to her I told her I over slept. Even though she looked upset with me she just told me to go seat and she will deal with me later. On this day the first subject on the time table was science, I remember this because it was the day my beautiful teacher taught the class about puberty.

Boys and girls, you have gone through some physical development changes with your bodies from the time you were in grade one up to the time you were in grade seven, said the teacher? We all said yes. She then wrote the title on the chalk board "PUBERTY". Can anyone read the word on the board, she asked. We all raised our hands and she said okay, read it all at once, we read it. To cut the story short, this was the day our teacher talked about our sexual appetite and how we can control ourselves, from teenage pregnancy, cleanness especially on the girl's part when all this came it all came at a time we all thought sex was good and should not just be left for the elderly alone, at a time when the peer educators that came taught us about sex and how we can prevent unwanted pregnancies if we cannot control our sexual desires, anyways her teaching meant to emphasize on what the peer educators had taught us. It was good learning about these things but on the other hand meant the introduction of sex to us because I tell you by the end of third term three girls in my class were victims of teen pregnancy. Away from that, all the time our teacher was teaching my mind was ever on or off I was disturbed with the fact that two girls in my class kept on looking at me with two beautiful smiles, that killed me because I would feel guilty each time Jane looked at me knowing that I had sex with a girl who was her rival, should I tell her? I thought, mmm that would be the end of me and her, then I just Have to let go of this and play along as Ruth said. By the end of the first two sessions of lessons in class it was break time.

At break time inno came to ask me if I would go out with him to go buy some snacks, I wanted to but it was too late because Jane came with potato chips and drinks for as to have at break time and so I just said boi lets have what Jane has come with if you don't mind "are you kidding eating is my talent, Jane bring the food here we eat" inno. As we were eating brought out the poem I had written for Jane and gave it to her saying "love I mean all the words in that poem, but read it when you will be alone at that desk all when you will feel it to be the right time to", "okay". We had just finished eating when Ruth came in with snacks and called for all of us including Jane to have some, in as much as we were all buffered of this act because Ruth and Jane never at any time would be together but anyway this happened, the four of us ate what she brought and had jokes as we were eating in no time break was over.

When all our classmates came in that's when Jane went out pretending to go to the toilet but took the paper with a poem, I had written for her, she just went behind the classroom and read the poem I wrote for her, came back in class smiling sat on her desk took her book and wrote a note for me. I know you would wonder that in this era such would happen in classes or its impossible for learners to have had leant so much that they could even write or do something, telling you in those days' teachers gave no peace when it came to academic work they made sure by the time you reach seventh grade you already know how to read and write, and writing letters and notes was the only way of communication for as pupils. Like I was about to say before I was interrupted with your thoughts, Jane came back and wrote a note saying

"Love, I do not know how to thank you for the love and care you are showing me now, hope it will be like this for good. Before I forget, I wanted to see you today but won't manage for I will be helping mom to bake scones and other food stuffs in preparation for the birthday party of my younger brother.

Take care dear. Jane"

I had just finished reading this note when I saw our teacher coming to class with Anna looking so disappointed, when they entered the class we were all quite waiting for what our teacher was about to tell as. After some minutes she asked "Where is James?" inno answered saying he did not show up to class after break, she later said "despite all that you have leant about puberty and what the peer educators had taught you, you still did not listen or took to practice all that you leant, what's wrong with this school that all we hear is this girl Is pregnant, that boy this, that," in the end she just told Anna to go back to class and see her after classes. Nobody knew what happened or why James never came back after break but rumor had it that they were caught making out in the new ablution building by one prefect who later reported the incident. Sometimes I wonder why all these things were happening at this school, could it be that Sodom and Gomorrah choose to repeat itself at this school, I do not know.

The classes ended and we knocked off, on the way back home I never went with my girlfriend nor did I go with Ruth I was with Inno and some other school mates when Inno was called by His girlfriend Gift, the older one of course, inno refused going to her but told her to come which she did, she asked "Inno, what will you be doing today in the evening? Inno "nothing all I know is that you told me yesterday that you have something special for me today." "Yes, I do we will be going somewhere nice today just be in time so that we have enough time to be together.". "Okay" inno answered then she left as. Inno was my best friend but I wasn't happy with him over what he said yesterday so I brought out the issue. I asked him "boi, why did you do that yesterday? You embarrassed me in front of your girlfriend for no reason." Inno "I know and thought you were going to bring this up at break time to but was defended by my lawyer your girl." "Yes, I wanted to but there is no way I was going to talk about that in front of my girl, who do you take me for? A fool, boi you've always underestimated me but this time don't because you do not know what am becoming". Inno, okay boi sorry, I know I was wrong. Are we good now?" after he apologized, I told him what we did last night in that unfished building. When i finished telling him what we did that's when he told me something shocking but we thought was cool at the time.
