Casey hated therapy. It was so mentally exhausting that most of the time he was able to retreat back into his head and let Kane take over since he had already seen for himself that Vera wasn't currently in danger being around him as soon as his second individual therapy session was done for the day.

However, that didn't always work out the way he wanted. He had no idea what to say to Vera or how to look her in the eye knowing she knew everything so on the rare occasions he didn't go right back in after therapy it was easier to pretend to be Kane. 

Sometimes he didn't have to because it happened on days she couldn't come visit. But sometimes it did and, like the coward he was, he sat there and pretended to be his alter.
