Love is Sweet: The Nation’s Princess Meets Her True Love

Excerpt: The corners of Lu Chenjun’s lips slightly curled up into an unreadable smile. ‘I let you go once because I was foolish and I thought that was what you wanted. I didn’t cherish you and didn’t treat you well before. Now that you are back, I will definitely not let you leave my side again. . . never again.’ Lu Chenjun stared at the woman on the screen with gentle and loving eyes, ‘Yinghui, let me take care of you, spoil you, and love you. . .’ --- Just like any other romance story, our female lead Jin Yinghui was cruelly kicked out of her home at the age of 18. She tried her best to wipe away all the bad memories from her past and even used a different name, Elena. Her life takes another turn when her company sends her back to her birthplace, Jin Province. In her homeland, new challenges are awaiting her. Jealousy from other celebrities and little fame in the entertainment industry of the Jin Province all stand as obstacles that prevent Elena from taking the easy path. However, one good thing does find its way to Elena in the Jin Province. She meets Lu Chenjun, the CEO of the LIQuan Company. As a playboy, he develops an interest in Elena and asks her to be his girlfriend. Patience is a Virtue

There was a momentary silence on the other end of the phone, "Thank you, Auntie Qin. Continue keeping an eye on her."

"Yes, Mr. Lu."

Auntie Qin hung up the phone and placed it back onto her desk.

---

Lu Chenjun had just finished a meeting when he received a call from Auntie Qin. He didn't sleep well yesterday night without Elena by his side and his mood was very low.

After the call, his mood only got worse.

Lu Chenjun turned on his computer and looked down at his phone, 'Patience is a virtue, Chu Hua.'

It was 5 P.M. when Elena returned to the Jinlu Complex, and Lu Chenjun wasn't home yet. Chu Hua was in her room and Auntie Qin was in the kitchen making dinner.

After removing her makeup and changing into comfortable clothes, Elena entered the kitchen to help Auntie Qin.

As Elena was cutting an onion, Auntie Qin lowered her voice and inched closer to her.

"Yinghui, you know what happened today?"

Elena chopped the second onion into halves and turned around to look at Auntie Qin, "What happened?"

"When you were gone, Miss Chu Hua entered Lu Chenjun's office and stayed there for quite a while. I don't know what she was doing though."

Elena turned around and smiled at Auntie Qin's widened eyes as she gossiped about what happened when she was not at home.

Elena brought one hand up and brushed a loose strand of hair behind her face. If she were to move out, she would miss Auntie Qin the most.

Just as Elena was about to reply to Auntie Qin, she felt a stinging pain in her eyes. She immediately closed them and put one hand up to rub her eyes.

The pain didn't disappear but instead got worse. She shouldn't have brought her hands close to her face when cutting onions.

Auntie Qin dropped the bowl she was holding and asked apologetically, "Are you alright? Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel bad."

Elena wiped away her tears and pointed to the cutting board, "No, not you. It's the onions."

Auntie Qin immediately grabbed the onions and moved them away from Elena.

"I thought you were crying because of Chu Hua. Don't worry, Auntie Qin will always like you better than Miss Chu Hua."

Elena smiled at Auntie Qin's comment as tears flowed down her cheeks endlessly.

"I'll be back. I'm going to go wash my face."

Elena took off the apron and walked out of the kitchen. As she turned around the corner, she jumped at the sight of a human standing there.

She forced her eyes open to see who it was, and she found herself face to face with Chu Hua.

Chu Hua looked shocked for a second before she changed her expression to confusion.

"Yinghui, why are you crying?" Chu Hua had come down to grab a snack and heard Auntie Qin saying that Elena was crying because of her.

She was happy internally at this information, but she didn't show it.

The front door clicked open and Chu Hua immediately walked away at this sound without any further regard to Elena.

Elena rolled her eyes but immediately closed them again at the sudden pain.

'What a fake person!'

She walked over to the stairs and heard her name, "Yinghui!"

Elena turned around and saw Lu Chenjun walking over with Chu Hua right behind him.

"Why are you crying? Did something happen?"

Elena almost flipped out. Why did she have to cry at this moment?

"Would you believe me if I say I'm crying because I accidentally touched my face while cutting onions?"

Lu Chenjun raised one eyebrow and said indifferently, "Yes."

Elena looked shocked for a moment before nodding, "Okay, then that's what happened."

She turned around and walked up the stairs, entering her room to wash her face.

Lu Chenjun turned over to Chu Hua and asked her, "Is that what happened?"

Chu Hua put on a pitiful face and looked down, "I'm not sure. I heard Auntie Qin and Yinghui talking bad about me in the kitchen, and Yinghui just suddenly came out crying."

Lu Chenjun looked down at Chu Hua's eyes that were reddening and asked her, "Are you okay?"

Chu Hua's face lit up at this question and she happily nodded. Lu Chenjun still cared for her! That would mean that she still has a chance.

Lu Chenjun turned around and also walked up the stairs as a hint of uncertainty flashed past his face.

Elena washed her hands thoroughly before touching her face again. After splashing some cold water into her eye, it stopped generating tears and the piercing pain was gone.

She wiped her face gently with a towel and looked into the mirror.

'I really can't stay in this house anymore.'

Elena closed the lights and went back down to help Auntie Qin with dinner.

---

As they were finishing up dinner, Elena suddenly dropped her chopsticks and looked up.

"Lu Chenjun, after dinner, come to my room. I have something to discuss with you."

This was the best time to talk to Lu Chenjun about moving out as she didn't have any scenes to film tomorrow. This would mean that she could pack her stuff tomorrow morning without having to worry about bumping into Lu Chenjun or Chu Hua.

Lu Chenjun swallowed his food and said, "Okay."

Chu Hua frowned at their interaction and glanced to the side before continuing to eat.

At around 8:30, Lu Chenjun walked into Elena's room in a casual black shirt and grey sweatpants.

Elena gulped once as she looked at Lu Chenjun. She still wasn't very used to seeing Lu Chenjun in casual clothing, and it got her every single time.

"What did you call me over for?"

Elena stood up from her bed but got pushed back down by Lu Chenjun.

"Sit." Lu Chenjun sat down next to Elena and looked at her.

"I have something to discuss with you."

Elena thought about what she said and changed her mind, "I have something to tell you."

Lu Chenjun nodded, signaling Elena to keep going.

"I don't want to live here anymore. I'll move out tomorrow."

Lu Chenjun's smile turned into a frown, "Why?"

Elena said softly, "Your first love is back already, so there is no point in me staying in this house anymore."

Elena looked down pitifully and didn't expect Lu Chenjun to start smiling.

"Are you jealous?"

Elena immediately looked up at Lu Chenjun's confident face and scoffed, "Me? Jealous? Are you stupid? I'm sick of living here with you. Now that your real love is back, isn't it time for you to break up with me?"

Elena felt tears welling up in her eyes, and she blinked several times to prevent herself from acting weak in front of Lu Chenjun.

Lu Chenjun knit his eyebrows together and stood up, his heart beating abnormally fast. Should he let her go?

Before his brain could come up with an answer, his mouth opened first.

"Don't go." He paused momentarily, "I'm not going to let you go."

Lu Chenjun left the room quickly, knowing that he was acting selfishly. Maybe this was the right time to end this relationship.

Elena waited until Lu Chenjun had left the room until she let a tear roll down her cheeks. Why wouldn't he just let her go?

Lu Chenjun angrily entered his bedroom and buried his head inside his arms. This was the perfect time to let her go. He didn't want to wait until he was already back with Chu Hua until he broke up with Elena.

So why couldn't he just say yes?

He heard a gentle knock on his door and Lu Chenjun lifted his head up.

'Chu Hua?'

I hope you enjoyed today's mass release!

Recently, there has been a lot of comments regarding the main leads (yay I love comments) I read every comment and I agree with most of them :) I also believe that what Lu Chenjun is doing is wrong and sometimes I think, 'Wow! Why is my male lead so bad' haha?'

I am so grateful for every single reader and thank you so much for still supporting even though the main leads aren't amazing. I will make sure that Chenjun doesn't get Elena so easily after hurting her (^~^)!

Please keep commenting any opinions or suggestions you have as I really enjoy reading them and learning about how I could improve my story :)
