Love is Sweet: The Nation’s Princess Meets Her True Love

Excerpt: The corners of Lu Chenjun’s lips slightly curled up into an unreadable smile. ‘I let you go once because I was foolish and I thought that was what you wanted. I didn’t cherish you and didn’t treat you well before. Now that you are back, I will definitely not let you leave my side again. . . never again.’ Lu Chenjun stared at the woman on the screen with gentle and loving eyes, ‘Yinghui, let me take care of you, spoil you, and love you. . .’ --- Just like any other romance story, our female lead Jin Yinghui was cruelly kicked out of her home at the age of 18. She tried her best to wipe away all the bad memories from her past and even used a different name, Elena. Her life takes another turn when her company sends her back to her birthplace, Jin Province. In her homeland, new challenges are awaiting her. I'm Coming Back

Before long, they both fell asleep in each other's arms.

When Elena woke up, the sun was already shining into the room. She stretched her arms out and felt the space next to her.

She furrowed her eyebrows when she found it to be empty, wondering where Lu Chenjun had gone. She sat up and looked around. Just as she was about to get off the bed, she heard the shower going in the bathroom.

Since Lu Chenjun was in the restroom, Elena decided to lay in bed a little longer. As she was about to close her eyes again, she heard a notification sound coming from the bed stand on the other side of the bed.

She wasn't planning to look at it, but she thought, 'What if the notification is important?'

Elena reached over and decided to just take a peek to make sure it wasn't anything urgent.

She quickly opened the phone and saw that Lu Chenjun had received a message. As she was about to close the phone, she furrowed her eyebrows at the contact name.

'Chu Hua?'

Out of curiosity, Elena decided to read the message.

'Chu Hua: Chenjun, I'm coming back. Can you pick me up at the Jin Province International Airport tomorrow at 5 P.M.? I'll wait for you. . .'

Elena furrowed her eyebrows at the message. She thought about who this person could be, but couldn't come up with any connections.

Just as she was about to read the message again, she heard the opening of the shower door. She quickly put the phone back to its original position, and laid back down, pretending to be asleep. Her heart was beating abnormally fast, and she felt as if she was almost caught committing a serious crime.

She heard footsteps approaching the bed and quickly closed her eyes.

She could make out the noise of Lu Chenjun picking up his phone and sitting on the bed. She heard Lu Chenjun type something onto the phone and felt as the bed lifted, and he walked out of the room.

After waiting some time to make sure Lu Chenjun was gone, Elena slowly blinked one eye open.

'Chu Hua?'

The entire day, Lu Chenjun stayed inside his office, and only came out to eat a few bites before going back in again.

Elena didn't think much about the message, and what happened in the morning was long gone from her mind. Since Lu Chenjun was ignoring her, she decided to mind her own business too.

She stayed in her room studying the script and memorized most of the lines for the rest of her scenes.

She helped Auntie Qin make lunch and texted Mila to talk about the latest gossip. At a certain point, she was so bored that she even followed along with a workout video to pass time. She hadn't workout in a long time, and her body wasn't familiar with high-intensity training.

In the end, she gave up halfway through the video and began scrolling through social media on her bed.

At night, Elena waited until 12 A.M. for Lu Chenjun to enter the room, but he never did. She internally cursed him in her head before she slammed the door shut extra loud and closed the lights.

She rolled around in her bed and purposefully created super loud noises by flapping her arms around and kicking her legs down onto the soft bed cushion, hoping that Lu Chenjun would hear her.

Before long, she grew tired from all of the movement and slowly came to a stop. She closed her eyes, leaning her head on one hand.

She frowned, thinking, 'Why do I care so much? Lu Chenjun could go sleep in his cold and Elena-less room, and that's totally good with me. I never liked sleeping with him anyway.'

With this thought in mind, Elena felt much better, and she nodded her head slightly with her eyes closed. As she was turning around to face the other way on the bed, the door opened.

Lu Chenjun quietly walked in, already changed into his pajamas. He swiftly climbed onto Elena's bed and smiled at her widened eyes.

"I'm sorry for being late."

For a second, Elena forgot about all of the anger she had felt a second ago, and she was about to say "It's okay."

However, she quickly returned back to her original mental state, and she turned her head away with a roll of her eyes.

"No need to be sorry, it's better never than late. I was so happy when you didn't come."

Elena lifted her head up high on the pillow, indicating she was annoyed. Lu Chenjun stuck his tongue out slightly before pulling Elena in.

"I'm not good at coaxing people, so don't expect anything. At least I'm here, right?"

Elena didn't say anything, but she felt rude if she continued with her attitude. She buried her head into Lu Chenjun's chest as a way to tell him that she wasn't angry anymore.

Although Lu Chenjun was glad that Elena was no longer mad at him, he also became a little bit frustrated. Why was she always so obedient? Didn't she know that it is sometimes okay for a woman to be a little unreasonable?

Lu Chenjun took a deep breath before closing his eyes. Elena's natural scent reached his nose, relaxing his tense body and mind. He was nervous but also excited about tomorrow.

---

The next day, Lu Chenjun woke up extra early to get ready before going to work. He put on a black suit and parted his hair carefully. He picked up a dark blue tie, which he rarely wore. Before, leaving, he wrote a note and taped it onto the mirror in the bathroom.

'Don't wait for me for dinner tonight. I have something important today, so I will be busy. I will be back on time tonight for bed.'

Lu Chenjun left the bathroom after taping the letter onto the mirror, but immediately walked back in. After careful thought, he decided to add a happy face at the end of the note.

By the time he left the house, Elena was already awake.

After waking up, Elena immediately turned around to tell Lu Chenjun to also wake up. She frowned when she realized that Lu Chenjun wasn't there. He usually slept more than Elena because he was the CEO, and no one could really complain about him going to work late. Plus, he got ready in the morning extremely quickly.

Elena climbed out of bed and called for Auntie Qin. She told Elena that Lu Chenjun had just left five minutes ago, and he said that he had a meeting in the morning.

Elena nodded and walked into the restroom to prepare for filming. Right as she walked in, she saw the note taped onto the mirror.

She read the note and frowned.

'Lu Chenjun seemed to always have so much spare time in the past. Is he finally getting busy?'

She carefully tore the note off and began getting ready. After eating breakfast, she quickly left, afraid of being late.

As she walked down the steps leading to the road, she realized that there was no car there. She froze in shock for a second, before pulling out her phone to call Lu Chenjun.

After about 10 beeps, Lu Chenjun still didn't pick up. Elena then called Fang Shi, who also didn't pick up. She took a few deep breaths, trying to control her temper.

'Did he purposefully do this to take revenge on me for being mad at him yesterday? What a stingy person.'

After thinking about it, she figured that her best option was to walk out of the neighborhood and get a taxi. If she was to call Mila, it would take too long for her to get here, and the security guards might not even let her into the complex.

In the car, the ride from the gate to the house was pretty short. However, when walking, the distance from the front gate to the house seemed to be miles. After walking for half an hour, Elena finally saw the gate.

She quickly ran over and pushed the small door to the side open with her key. It was good that she woke up early today, or else she would definitely be late. There was still about 45 minutes until filming would start.

She quickly called a taxi over and rushed over to the set.

Here comes Chu Hua!
