Chapter 83- ... If Something Had Happened To Them.

Anna turned her head to the doctor to have him examine it.

"Just as I thought", he said inwardly after examining.

" You'll be fine, I'll have the nurse get you an ice pack" he said, his eyes deep and profound, but he had a smile on.

He prescribed some medication to her nurse and told her to rest, but Anna's mind was still with Delilah.

She didn't rest.

Instead, she followed the doctor back to Delilah's ward irrespective of the doctor's protest, with the ice pack pressed against her head, her heart racing with worry.

What would happen to Delilah? Would she be okay?

In Zhang Han's office,

A suffocating chilliness clouded the air, making it slightly difficult to breathe.

The girls before him, who were just called back, trembled, their eyes fixed on the floor.

Zhang Han sat behind the desk, his gaze pierced through them like a dagger, his voice dripping with venom.

" I've called you back because I still have some questions concerning your report," he began, his tone laced with undisguised killing intent. "Would you like to tell me what really happened?"

His cold gaze swept over the girls like a winter storm, freezing their souls.

Yan Ruyi spoke up, her voice trembling at first, but grew calmer with each word. "S-Sir, we…we are telling the truth. We were busy with the mission when Delilah said she wanted to take the role of the team leader, but we voted against it."

Li Ming hurriedly added," She got upset and left in another direction with Anna. When we realized they weren't returning, we set out to find them, only to see their bag. We couldn't find them at all."

"We o… only hope they are fine" she added, her voice was soft and carried a hint of sadness.

Zhang Han's gaze narrowed, he glanced at the girl who just talked, making her feel uncomfortable "I've had the soldiers looking for them, I heard you were the one who reported," he inquired, his voice low and menacing.

Yan Ruyi nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "We reported when we couldn't find them."

Zhang Han's expression was unreadable, but his eyes seemed to say, "You're hiding something."

Suddenly there was a knock on the door,

" Come in" Zhang Han said, and the door creaked open, a young soldier saluted, he dropped the folder in his hand respectfully on Zhang Han's desk and left, without saying a word.

Zhang Han opened the file, it was a medical file, his eyes darkened as he read through.

" Mm" Zhang Han snorted, he looked up from the file to Yan Ruyi again and thought, she'll definitely make a dangerous criminal one day, she can stick to her lie no matter what.

A cold smirk slowly curled up a side of his lips.

"Do you know how it would have impacted us if something had happened to them?" he asked, his voice low, dripping with malice.
