Chapter 36- Before She Could Give Another Compliant

" So you have been this way since elementary?" Anna asked.

Delilah shook her head with a bitter smile," Honestly, I can't remember anything about my elementary life, but I have been this way since middle school", Delilah answered.

Anna nodded, she saw a bitter change in Delilah's expression so she didn't ask more, "Mm! That makes sense, you have an outstanding grandmother." Anna clapped Delilah's shoulder.

Delilah smiled," Thanks, so now that is solved, how about you go take a shower, I'll have the maids clean your school uniform…", she clapped.

"I-I don't think that is a good idea, and my mom hasn't sent the clothes and I- I am sure she'll send another set of uniform for me", Anna responded nervously.

Delilah went behind her and pushed her towards the bathroom," You'll be fine, I can give you some of my clothes while you wait for the ones your mom will send so don't worry, okay?"

Delilah opened the door, pushed Anna in and shut it before she could give another compliant.

" Phew!" Delilah sighed, and she wiped her invisible sweat. She went over to pick their school bags when she heard, "Uhm…. Delilah, how do you turn on the shower?"

Delilah's body shook from laughter, but she covered her mouth," You'll figure it out eventually", she answered, muffling her laughter.

She went into her closest and brought out two pairs of pyjamas, a scarlet red pyjama with a pair of short pants and a top and a deep purple pyjama with a pair of long pants and shirt.

It took a while before Anna came out of the shower, she wore a pink bathrobe with a towel wrapped underneath the bathrobe.

Delilah rose from the blanket she laid on the floor, her eyes were sparking," See, I said you'll be fine", she walked towards Anna.

" Delilah, your bathroom, it is… So extravagant. I have only seen those types of bathrooms on television…" Annabelle whispered in Delilah's ear, her expression was honest.

Delilah rubbed the back of her head with an awkward smile, now she understood why grandma wanted her to learn about a common man's life.

She walked towards the bed and brought the two pyjamas she'd picked earlier and showed them to Anna, "Here, you can pick one….", she said but,

"No, I apologize, but I can't accept it", Annabelle rejected the clothes politely.

Delilah's face sunk dejectedly," Are—are you allergic to silk?", she asked sadly.

" No… no, it's just that I can't accept it, I'm truly sorry", Annabelle coaxed.
