Chapter 13: A King's Wrath

King Ryder, Luan's father, arrived in Valtoria, his face stern and his eyes blazing with anger. King Lincoln had summoned him, and he knew why. His daughter, Luan, had attempted to kill Richard, the young prince she had once hoped to marry.

King Lincoln's anger was palpable, but it was not directed at King Ryder. Instead, it was aimed at his own son, Richard, who had chosen a maid over Luan. But that anger had changed after seeing his wife, Queen Rhoda, suffer so much pain upon seeing Richard severely injured. He had wondered what would have happened if Edward had not intervened, and how his wife would have coped with losing her last born, whom she had not been able to care for during his childhood due to sickness.

The meeting was tense, with King Ryder's anger simmering just below the surface. "My daughter has gone too far," he said, his voice low and menacing. "She will pay for her treachery, Lincoln. I promise you that."

Edward, Amber, Jane, and Queen Rhoda were present, witnessing the king's wrath. They knew that Luan's actions had crossed a line, and that her father's anger was justified.

"You have brought shame to our family, Luan," King Ryder continued. "You will face the consequences of your actions, and you will never be welcomed in Valtoria again. You are no longer my daughter."

Luan cowered, knowing she had gone too far. She had never seen her father so angry, and she knew she had to face the consequences of her actions.

"I'm sorry, Father," Luan said, her voice trembling. "I just wanted to spend more time with Richard. I knew I would have to go back, and I would definitely lose the man I love to a maid."

Lisa stood from afar, eavesdropping on the conversation. She was supposed to be tending to Richard's wounds, but she wanted to see what would become of Luan. Upon hearing Luan's words, she was about to rush in to challenge her, but as she was about to enter the throne room, she was held back by a powerful grip.
