Prologue

Eon is laying on the lap of Selena- they are under a big oak. Although the surrounding is pitch black, it is magical so witness many fireflies, making the place bright.

Selena is caressing Eon's head and Eon smiles at her. "Your beauty is nothing compare to other fairies I've met."

Selena blushed, "You think so?". Eon stands up and holds her face with both hands, "Since we were kids, you are the only girl that my eyes and heart longings. Don't disappear again."

They stare at each other's eyes. Their faces gradually approaching each other but before their lips meet, a shout echoes the forest.

"Selena!"

Selena recognizes the voice - it is her husband's. Her eyes are full of panic. She stands up and is ready to leave when Eon grabs her by the arm. His eyes are begging her to stay. But Sereia cannot let her husband catch her, she knows what will happen.

"Stay. I will protect you from him." Eon convinces Selena to not be afraid. But she could only at him with pleading eyes.

"I'm sorry, I can't. I can't let my parents down. When Magnus finds me here with you, he'll kick us out." Selena holds Eon's hand and pushes it away.

She then leaves without saying goodbye to Eon. Eon feels helpless as he watches his love disappear into the night. How he wished he had taken Sereia away when they were kids. That way they would both no longer suffer.

Selena runs while looking at her back, checking if Magnus had found her. She continues to run and makes her pace faster until she arrives at her house, bringing some flowers. She already formulated an excuse in her mind. She sits at a chair and realizes that her heart is racing. Selena is calming herself down when her husband storms inside the house.

Selena cannot help but feel terrified as her husband approaches her and slaps her, which makes her face turn the other side.

"Where have you been, you b*tch?!"

A tear falls in her right eye as she looks with hatred at her husband. Selena dares not to answer her husband and her excuse is no longer will be used.

"The next time I woke up and you are not on my side, you will get more than that."

Magnus then walks into their bedroom, left Selena holding her swollen cheek. Selena cried the whole night. How can she escape the hellhole her parents put her in?
