Julie Madrigal was a mother of two children. Once she was legally separated from her ex-husband, she went to the only place she felt safe. The Scottish Highlands. Then again, she had only seen the place in books and videos, but the land called to her. And she wasn't expecting love. Duncan McLaren was the current Laird of the land. He was charming, helpful, and the epitome of a perfect man. Yet he hides a secret that would destroy the very thing he hold dear to his heart. Meeting Julie was kismet and he would gladly give up everything to be with her and the kids. But will love be enough to keep her? Or will the past destroy everything?
The rain finally let up, but the road was wet. It was a blessing that the road was paved otherwise the whole ride would have been bumpy and muddy.
I could see why Raymond liked this particular house so much. It was far from the main road and the view was beautiful. This is the first time I truly appreciated the way up here.
Lush trees surrounded the road, the lake could be seen if you parked at a place with enough space to actually see it. The drop-down was not that steep, but it was enough to break a couple of bones when needed.
The house was located at the side where the view of the lake was closest, hence why it was called the lakehouse.
The first thing everyone would see was the second-floor balcony of the house, it faced the road and was usually used as a lookout. Then it was the wall of the property. The elders wanted something European, so they used those white bricks as walls around the property.
