I felt his arms warped around me. His presence made everything okay.
It was something that never ceases to amaze me. I am used to dealing with things alone. More often than not, I get by on my own.
For the past few months, Duncan had entered my - our lives - some of the burdens I have always carried lessened. I never really noticed it.
Everyone tells me I'm strong.
What they don't know is how much effort it takes to be strong.
"Come one, lass. We should sleep."
I looked at him, there was a gentle heat in his gaze. Sleep was not what he wanted, but he was partly a gentleman.
I shook my head and leaned back and a soft kiss was placed on top of my head.
"Immortal huh," I said.
Duncan let out a sigh and pulled me closer before I was swung into his arms. He remained silent until we were in the room.
He laid me on the bed with a fierce kiss. Our clothes came off next.
We didn't sleep.
