Chapter 5

In the early morning, Mia wakes up to the sound of her phone going off repeatedly, annoying the crap out of her.

Who's texting her this early on a Saturday? She opens her phone to see it's once again flooded with messages.

(4) messages from Austin

(2) messages from Rob

(1) missed call from Austin

She groans and opens her messaging app, opening the new messages.

Austin: Morning, bestie! I want to take you shopping today. Are you up for it? I'll pay for everything! ;)

Mia: You don't have to, but I think it could be fun to go out once in a while.

Ok, I'll go, where do we meet each other?

Austin: In front of your house, silly! I'm picking you up in an hour! Wear something comfortable, we're gonna be walking a lot!

Mia: Okay, see you later!

She exits the chat, wondering to herself why Austin would want to go shopping with her. She opens Robert's messages and starts to read them one by one.

Robbie: Good morning! Did you sleep well?

Robbie: Are you awake yet?

Mia: Hi, yes, your brother just invited me on a shopping trip today!

Robbie: Oh? Good luck! He can be very tiresome!

Mia: Really? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Robbie: Okay then! We'll talk when all's said and done :)

Mia giggles at his messages before switching off her phone, getting up and getting her new oversized sweater with some black skinny jeans. She heads to her bathroom and turns on her shower, steam filling the room almost instantly. After she gets out of the shower, she goes to her dresser and starts to brush her long brown hair before using a hairdryer to dry her hair. After she does her make-up, she puts on her clothes and gets her purse and just as she is putting on her shoes, she hears a honk at her front door, Mia opened the door, and her mouth falls open. In front of her house stands a black Ferrari with Austin getting out of the car looking like a Gucci model.

His now blond hair shone in the sun.

"I thought you said to dress casually?" Mia almost screams at Austin, suddenly feeling very underdressed.

"What do you mean? I am dressed casually," Austin replies, not thinking that his clothes are anything special.

"Those look like they cost a thousand bucks!" Mia says, looking down at her new sweater and jeans, feeling like they're rags in comparison with Austin's clothes. "Well, they did, but they were on sale! I got them for the cheapest price ever!" Austin says, still not understanding her point. To him, she looks beautiful.

"S-sale?" Mia asks, her eye twitching a little at that comment. "Yeah! They were a steal," He says, his box smile coming through. "If I wanted those, I would have to resort to stealing," Mia says as her face goes pale. "Oh my goodness! Are you okay? Why are you so pale? Have you eaten yet?" Austin says, freaking out like a mother over her child.

"Hehe, no, I haven't..." Mia answers like a naughty child. Austin glares at her. "And why not?" He asks, his voice suddenly going deeper than before. She suddenly feels a chill run down her spine. If she didn't know how playful and cute the younger man was, she would have thought that she was talking to a seasoned criminal. Just as fast as he changed his personality, he turned it back.

Mia was completely dumbfounded at his dramatic personality changes.

Before she could even regain her composure, she heard another honk, and she saw that Austin had already started the car.

"Come on, slowpoke!" Austin screams from the car. So, she decides to just let it go before making her way to the car, excited that she is riding in this type of car for the first time. She gets in the car, but her excitement can't be contained as she can't seem to sit still in the beautiful car.

"Hey! Sit still! Why are you moving around so much?" Austin says while trying to get her to sit still and try to drive at the same time.

"It's like you've never been in a car," He huffs out in frustration. "No, I haven't been in one like this," She says casually, finally sitting still. "Wait... you're kidding? Right? I mean, you look like the type of girl that would have a lot of wealthy boyfriends," He says, shocked.

Mia glares at him. "Austin Grey, are you calling me a gold digger?" The male stiffened in his seat, as he feels her burning glare.

"What?! N-no?! What I meant was, you are so beautiful, it wouldn't be a surprise if you've dated a lot of wealthy men since all they look for is looks," He sighs. "Are you calling yourself superficial?" She says, raising her eyebrow playfully. "Hey! Stop twisting my words!" He laughs, trying to act serious. "That's not what I'm doing!" Mia says offended."Well, that is what you're doing!"Austin says playfully.

They both burst out laughing, Mia shaking her head from time to time at the silliness of the male beside her.

"Well, we're here!" Austin announces excitedly. They get out of the car and go into the mall. The first store Austin drags her to shock her.

GUCCI. Freaking GUCCI!!! She sees the mannequins in the window standing proudly, wearing expensive clothes. She is amazed by all the hoodies, sweats, and sweaters. It's like they knew she was coming.

She looks at Austin, amazed, the younger boy not even looking at her, already checking out the most expensive of the clothes.

"Hey, Austin!" Mia hears a female voice calling. A smile goes to rest on his face as he sees who called him.

"Lisa! Long time no see!" He goes to the female and hugs her. "Hey, it's been a long!" She says cheerily, catching a glimpse of Mia before nodding her head and coming into agreement with Austin. He leaves Lisa, and he goes to Mia, the other female, at the counter, not taking her eyes off them. "So, Mia, do you see any that you like?" The male asks innocently.

"Are you kidding me? I love all of this!" She exclaims. "Well, pick out your favourites, and let's go pay for them!" Austin says excitedly. "O-oh Ok!" She picks out two hoodies. "Come on, Mia, that can't be all of them?" He says, not surprised that she picked out so little.

"I-it is! I'm not picky, so I took the cheapest ones," She said. "Well.. okay if that's what you want..." He says disappointed.

They go to the till point, and Austin pays for all of their clothes. As Mia makes her way out of the store, Austin winks at Lisa and says, "Go ahead." After two hours of shopping with Austin, and just like Rob said, she is tired as hell. Austin, on the other hand, doesn't even look tired at all! They have been to about seven shops, all expensive ones, Austin having bought her almost an entirely new closet!

From work clothes to party clothes, casual clothes and even some underwear! She almost died when Austin dragged her into a lingerie store. Her face was so red, she told him to pick out what he thought would look good and that they should just go.

And he almost bought half the store!!

To make things worse, he kept yelling at her to look at this and look at that. EVERYONE looked at them! She was so embarrassed that she thought she was going to die. After her shopping nightmare, they go to sit down at a small cafè to have coffee and something to eat.

"So how are you holding up? I've been told I'm a shopping nightmare, so I don't blame you if you're tired," Austin laughs.

"No, I'm fine..." Mia says sarcastically. "So, Austin, there is something I've been wanting to ask you. Is there any other reason you took me shopping today?" Mia asks, resting her elbow on the table.

Austin sighs. "I knew you were gonna ask me that question. And the answer is yes. I do have another reason. I felt like I wanted to tell you what happened between me and Father before he died." After Mia gets home, her mind is buzzing with all of the newfound information she got about Austin and his father. She even got some backstory on his brothers. When she opens her door, she is greeted with boxes and boxes of clothing, shoes, handbags, evening dresses, and even a box full of make-up that suits her skin tone perfectly.

She is amazed and almost drops the cup of coffee she is holding.

"What the?" She asks herself, confused and amazed at the same time.

Just as she begins searching around, she comes upon a note, taped to one of the boxes.

Hey Bestie!!

I know you didn't pick these out, but I wanted to treat you, so here it is! Thank you for today!

Enjoy!!

Love, Austin

She smiles as she reads the note. How can one person be so great? She takes out her phone and opens her chat with Austin.

Mia: Hey, Austin. Thank you so much for all the stuff. You didn't have to.

Austin: No problem, it was my pleasure, I'm glad you like it. Thanks for listening today... it helped a lot.

Mia: I'm glad I could help.
