Chapter 2

Adam placed another kiss on her belly before straightening up. He wrapped his arms around, pulling her as close as her belly would let them.

"How was the meeting?" Flora asked, he had gotten an important phone call from work demanding his immediate presence.

The problem was a bit serious but he hadn't wanted to leave Flora alone until she convinced him that she would be fine and should go and settle whatever was wrong in the office.

Adam tucked back a lock of her hair and replied, "Atleast we were able to convince the company that withdrawing from the contract would be a bad idea. Turns out, they had a 'better' deal from another company."

Flora frowned, "Why would they enter into another deal while still in one with your company?"

Adam shrugged, "The 'Francis and co.' is one of our biggest competition, i guess they felt they could offer them a better service."

Flora shook her head, still frowning, "Well it's a good thing you manage to convince them."

"Yeah. It wasn't easy but we I'm glad we did."

"Me too." Flora smiled, "This calls for a celebration, doesn't it?"

Adam grinned back, " I guess. So how do you want to celebrate."

Flora tapped her chin playfully, pretending to think, "Well, since I'm famished....Some pizza and Mac and cheese sounds like a divine celebration."

"I think the hospital food, sounds about perfect for a celebration" Adam said, his eyes gleaming with amusement.

They both knew the hospital foods were nothing short of bland, for lack of a better word.

"Very funny. Try eating just hospital food for a whole day." She shuddered, as If just the thought if it was unbearable.

Adam laughed, taking her mouth in a kiss.

"One Mac and Cheese with Pizza, coming right up." Flora grinned and kissed his chin,

"You're my hero."

"I wouldn't settle for less." Adam winked at her. He knelt and pressed a hand to her belly.

"Hey, princess. Daddy's gotta go get food for mama, be a good girl while I'm gone, okay?"

Flora loved how gentle Adam's voice got when talking to their baby, it made her fall all the more in love with him just think of how he would be the best father out there.

Adam kissed her belly and stood up, kissing Flora too. "I'll be right back, honey." He said. "Make sure not to miss me too much." He winked.

Flora rolled her eyes with a smile on her lips.

"I'll try." She said watching him go.
