Charlotte Cooper was deeply engrossed in filming, immersed wholly in her character, tears stains still not dried from the corners of her eyes, when she heard the director himself call out, "Cut, cut, that was good. Take a half-hour break and get ready for the next scene."
Just as Charlotte stopped filming and left the set, she heard an excited makeup artist exclaim, "Charlotte, your expressions were so on point! You are amazing, even the director was stunned by your performance."
At this, Charlotte chuckled and joked, "Really now! I think you're more excited than the director."
The makeup artist, with a sweet nature and a penchant for flattery, responded warmly, "Of course, I'm one of your biggest fans! From now on, I'm first in line to clap for any movie you're in."
