173 Reminiscing Old Memories

"Sir, Madam, I apologize for what had happened. I have no excuses at all but I still hope that you'll give me your permission to marry Fyre. I love him and I promise you that I will make him happy for as long as I can. I am not a perfect person but I will do my best," Tian Zi suddenly conveyed as soon as Mrs. Long asked them to take their seats at the dining table. Fyre had already introduced him to the couple and it didn't seem like they were rejecting him but he refused to just let things be without properly telling them his intention and at the same time, apologizing for what had been happening recently.
Meanwhile looking at Tian Zi in shock, Mr. and Mrs. Long looked at each other again before they both shifted their glance at Tian Zi who was all this time bowing his head to the two like an idol towards his seniors. Fyre tried to stop him from being so overly conscious and dramatic about the situation but Tian Zi just really couldn't let this be. Things need to be addressed or else he'll overthink about it afterwards wondering if his lover's parents approved of him or not.
Of course, Tian Zi had forgotten that he is a Mo and belongs to the most elite household of the country that both Mr. and Mrs. Long didn't know what to say because they already accepted the Alpha for a while now. At first they were worried about Fyre because they didn't want their son to be involved in such a high class family and be discriminated and look down but after a while, they knew the Mos are good people and that they wouldn't do Fyre wrong. Despite what other people say and believe, the Mos really don't care about other things such as status and background as long as you have no bad intentions towards them.
"Please, you don't need to apologize. We trust Fyre and if he chooses you then we have no choice but accept it. You don't need to feel pressure… And to be honest, Jules and I are happy that Fyre found a nice man like you. We have nothing more to ask," Mrs. Long said as she urged Tian Zi to stop his bowing.
"Carol's right, and since we're now going to be family, you can address us comfortably. To be honest, I didn't even think our little Princess here would ever decide to choose a male Alpha to be his partner. We were both surprised when we heard you two got engaged," Mr. Long stated with a slight laugh before patting Tian Zi's shoulder so he would relax a bit.
"Urg! Dad~ I told you to stop calling me that~" Fyre whined when he heard his nickname again. Since he was originally raised as a girl, he used to be the family's little princess but when adolescents hit him and he started identifying himself as a boy, he rebelled a lot and refused to wear girls clothes. Of course, for a while that wasn't easy and he still wore girls clothes until 2nd year highschool before he completely shifted and later ran away. This is also why when Tian Zi nicknamed him as Princess, he hated it a lot and although he didn't feel as repulsive about it now as before, he still didn't want to be called one.
"Why? You'll always and forever be our Princess. Besides, I thought you're fine with it, you even took up a role in that Movie where you have to wear girls clothes," Mr. Long chuckled, making Fyre blush in embarrassment. At the same time, as Tian Zi was hearing this, he became really curious. While he already knew that Fyre indeed did not prefer male Alphas in the beginning and the fact that he did not like wearing girls clothing, he did not know about Fyre being nicknamed as Princess. It was quite a coincidence because that was how he called him too sometimes and the Omega hated it a lot.
Tian Zi stared at Mr. Long curiously, obviously eager to hear more. Mrs. Long saw this and immediately had a great idea.
"Let's all go to the dinner table now, after we eat I'm going to take out the family album. It's only right for your future husband to see it since he's going to be part of our family soon," she suggested, which immediately caught the young Alpha's attention. He had been asking Fyre to show him some of his photos when he was younger when Fyre accidentally saw his but the Omega refused to show it to him even to the point of locking it's existence online so he wouldn't be able to dig it up.
"Mother, I'd be happy to see it," Tian Zi said seriously, earning a smack on the back of his head from Fyre.
"Stop it! I'm not showing that to you," Fyre frowned, a deep shade of red spread on his face before he crossed his arms and rushed to the dining table. He quickly distracted himself not wanting to remain on the previous topic so he looked around the interior of the house and noticed that there had not been a lot of changes since he left, especially their very old dining table. Although it still served its purpose, anyone could tell that it's old.
"Mom, Dad, I told you many times in my letters to use the money I sent to you guys in any way you want. I see there has not been that many changes here since I left," Fyre suddenly mentioned. Hearing this, both Mr. and Mrs. Long twitched a little before they hastily walked to the dining table and took their own seats. Of course, they were aware that their son wanted them to spend the money he sent but how could they? They already feel embarrassed about having their kids pay for their debts and the hospital bills when Jules was hospitalized so in the end, they couldn't help but save up the money instead. Besides, after all the debts were paid, the money they earn on their crops was enough for the both of them to live abundantly since the both of them only wanted a simple life.
"Oh leave it be. You know your Mom and I don't need that much," Mr. Jules brushed. He had been working hard on their land after he fully recovered so his children won't worry for him too much. It was enough that both Remi and Fyre supported them when he was unable to. That was enough for him. He wouldn't want to put such responsibility on his children as well since he knew how hard life can be.
"But I gave you that money for the both of you to live comfortably," Fyre pouted. He earns a lot on his hacking job so he also sends a lot hoping that his parents would no longer struggle. Of course, part of it was also for Remi to quit being Veronica Chimes' manager since in the first place she only took that job to cover up his crime. He was hoping that if she knew she no longer needed to work for that vicious woman, she'd be free to do whatever she wanted. But in the end, that didn't happen.
"Ohh but we did use the money to finally buy our own tractor. It helped us a lot in tending the crops. If you'd just let us know your address, we could have sent you a letter," Mrs. Long said this time, knowing that Fyre was soon going to be upset. It had always been like that in the past and they had to console him immediately since his emotions greatly affected his recessive condition.
"Well, I know that already though but I was hoping for the two of you to buy more things or maybe renovate this house? I just wanted the both of you to be happy and comfortable… i-it's the reason why I left," Fyre said and mumbled at the end. When both Mr. and Mrs. Long heard him, they both sigh helplessly and almost at the same time held their son's hand that was now resting on the table.
"Oh our sweet Child, your Dad and I are happy, especially now that you have come back to us and even brought in a new member of the family. And we are comfortable because of you and your sister, we have nothing more to ask. Both of you have helped us a lot, especially when your father got sick," Mrs. Long conveyed softly before her hand reached out towards Fyre's cheeks before she smiled dotingly. There was nothing more she could ask for aside from being with her son again. A massive house and bank filled with money would be nothing to her if she couldn't be with her children.
"Yes, besides. We really didn't want to change a lot of things in our house, we've made a lot of memories here together. Your mother and I can't simply get rid of that when that's the only thing that reminded us of the both of you, please understand my sweet princess," Mr. Long added, which completely convinced Fyre. It was understandable because he left at such a young age, he wouldn't be able to blame his loving parents for clinging on the memories he had left in every corner of their humble house.
"Okay, I understand so I won't insist on it anymore," Fyre muttered softly. Meanwhile, putting his elbow on the table so he could rest his head on his palm with ease, Tian Zi stared at the trio with a soft smile on his lips. Yet again, he discovered another side of his lover and he's loving every millisecond of it.
"Now now, enough with the drama. Let's talk about our handsome son-in-law here. I never thought you'd be able to catch such a fine man… I always thought your childhood sweetheart Martin was a good-looking child but when I saw Mr. Mo here and how much he cared for you, I wasn't too surprised when you told us you two got engaged," Mrs. Long mentioned cheerfully. Since she's the kind of person that valued appearance more than anything, of course she highly approved of Tian Zi who was the epitome of handsomeness, both very young and healthy.
"Urghh Mooom~ here you go again," Fyre whined in embarrassment. He could remember how much his mother loved dramas before and perhaps even until now so she was really a sucker for pretty and handsome faces, it's also the reason why he married his father who was one of the most good looking men in his generation. Of course, Mrs. Long also didn't fall behind as she was also good looking but it's just that because he liked Mr. Long's face so much, both of them dropped out of college and eloped after Mr. Long got his inheritance from his late father. Regrettably, what comes after wasn't like a fairytale that they expected it would be. Their money slowly ran out as time passed until they were only left with a land big enough to cultivate with crops.
Life since then wasn't good for the two of them and there were times that they fought because of poverty but thankfully, they chose to persevere and they stayed together despite the challenges and decided to beat faith since it was the life they chose. Thankfully, even though Mr. Long wasn't as outstanding as others academically, he had talent for farming and eventually started to recover with the help of his wife and children. Unfortunately, he got sick and then his siblings wanted to covet his land seeing the value in it. Fyre had no choice back then but to steal which eventually led him to now.
"Oh Dear, but why not? I am very proud of you… No offense to your fiance by the way."
"Oh please don't worry about it Mother. I am pleased that you liked my face and please call me comfortably as well… but may I know who this Martin is? It's the first time I'm hearing about a childhood sweetheart," Tian Zi smiled before mentioning a name that was completely unnecessary to the topic at hand. Hearing the question, Mrs. Long giggled and started her long story about when Fyre was still young. Fyre tried to stop her but it was all hopeless. Alas, it was a day filled with reminiscing old memories.
