"El are you still sleeping?", Abrams called out the sleeping beauty. Elise was still trying to figure out her sleep cycle, and her hyperactive, sunrise-loving roommate was not at all helpful.
"It is 6:00 in the morning Rams! I slept at 3. Don't bang on my door for the next 3 hours!", a sleepy annoyed Elise half screamed at her excited best friend.
"But you promised we will go and enrol in the yoga class!", Abrams was not ready to back out yet.
"I did promise but never did I mention the morning slot! We can go there in the evening!", Elise replied, and anyone could tell her voice was on the edge. She was about to lose her calm.
Abrams stood there for a little while contemplating whether to wake her up again or not. Elise was famous among her friends for her mood swings. No one knew what to expect and when.
"Rams, is she up?", Leo their third musketeer joined in.
"She is not in a good mood.", Abrams said with a grave expression.
"Don't be scared A! She will not bite!", Leo laughed.
"You never know with El!", Abrams replied with a shiver.
"You still want to sign up for the yoga class?", Leo asked picking up the toast from the plate.
"No, El wants to sign up for the evening batch. We can all sign up then.", Abrams said and picked up another toast while taking a seat next to Leo.
"Was she up till late again?", munching on the toast Leo asked and Abrams nodded.
"Sometimes I am worried about her sleep schedule.", Abrams said finishing the last bite.
"Me too! But we all know El, she always learns the hard way!", Leo sighed.
They have known each other for seven months now and since the day Elise helped Leo find the way to the dorm, these two were inseparable. Abrams joined a few days later as she was having a vacation in Hawaii with her parents, a vacation Elise and Leo were reminded about on every occasion that seemed fit.
These three even though were of different majors, could be spotted together all the time. Elise is a biology major; Leo is majoring in architecture and Abrams is an environmental science major.
"Leo, do you think El needs a boyfriend?", Abrams said out of nowhere. Now trespassing in a territory which clearly says- 'Don't enter', is a favourite pastime for Abrams. But this territory was off limits, literally nowhere to be found.
"Are you out of your mind?", Leo laughed and smacked her head.
"I am serious!", Abrams was serious.
"El literally steers clear from boys. I am the only boy she ever talks to. If it wasn't for her little crush on Ryan Reynolds, I would have been sure she is gay.", Leo made sense.
Abrams hummed but anyone who knew Abrams, knew how much she loves to do the things that say- 'You can't do it'. And even though here Leo was talking about Elise's incapability of seducing boys, or even interacting with the opposite gender, Abrams took it as a challenge to herself.
"You are still thinking about it? Aren't you?", Leo asked. He knew Abrams and he also knew how convincing she can be. He was after all her first target at college. She literally made Leo change his major from History to Architecture when she got to know about his family's pressure for studying social sciences.
"Please Abrams, don't get involved in all this. And why do you even want to get her a boyfriend?", Leo tried to convince her.
"She needs to experience something more than her classes, her books, and her language courses. El doesn't drink or go to parties, maybe a boyfriend can change that!", Abrams was the queen of manipulation, and she wasn't backing out now.
"Maybe ask her, if she even needs a boyfriend!", Leo tried one last time exasperated.
"Who doesn't need a boyfriend.", Abrams shrugged knowing she had won. Leo meanwhile sighed defeated.
"And how exactly do you plan to get her a boyfriend?", Leo asked.
"Now that we need to think about!", Abrams squealed in excitement. She finally has a new project to work on.
"What are you guys so excited about?", a sleepy voice finally joined them.
"Nothing! She was just telling me another story from Hawaii.", Leo said.
"Why are you up already? It has been like 30 minutes, not 3 hours.", Abrams asked as Elise poured herself a glass of juice.
"The editor mailed a new script. I must read that.", Elise said with a tired sigh.
"Oh! Why do they make you work this hard?", Abrams said hugging her best friend.
"What is the title?", Leo asked.
"Something like A Blind Date!", Elise replied comfortably standing in Abram's warm embrace.
"That's it!", Abrams spoke up suddenly making Elise drop her glass.
"What was that Rams!", Elise asked as Leo ran inside to get a mop.
"Oh! I am sorry!", Abrams said with an innocent face as Leo mopped the floor.
"Why did you get all excited.", Elise asked.
"Yes, Abrams tell her why you got excited?", Leo smirked from the corner. Abrams gave him a death stare.
"What are you two talking about?", Elise asked looking at the weird exchange of gestures between her two best friends.
"I got excited because I had this sudden intuition that this will be a life-altering thing for you!", Abrams spoke up.
"What will be a life-altering thing?", Elise was still confused, and Leo stood there amused.
"A Blind Date, this new book!", Abrams covered up just fine. Elise nodded.
"I don't think so! It is not something I would write about!", she said.
"One shall try new things every day!", Abrams said and poured another glass of juice for her.
"Maybe you are right! Let's see how this ends up for me. A Blind Date!", Elise said smiling at her friends who were already beaming at her. Weirdos!
