PROLOGUE

In the cold afternoon, I started walking down the streets of Hamburg, which was ravaged with hysteria. I saw the remains of destroyed buildings as far as the eye could see.

The war ended 5 years ago, but this city has not completely recovered, I can still feel the destruction and suffering brought by the war.

Throughout this journey my mind kept thinking about my family and what had happened to them.

Step by step brought me closer to a street that I was quite familiar with.

Just down the road is the large ruin that is where my house is, or perhaps what remains of it.

My body immediately went limp, I sat beside the ruins that used to be a big house with full of memories.

My tears started flowing when i thinking about my family, especially my mother and sister.

After spending 6 years as a Soviet prisoner of war, now I have to go home and find everything I have is turned into a ruins.

There is nothing more painful for a man than losing the people he loves.

It's unfair when innocent people like them have to die, while filthy bastards like me are still living.

Amidst the sorrow I was feeling, suddenly a glimmer of hope appeared. Helena! She may be the only person I love left in this world.

I don't know if she really survived or not, but one thing is sure, I have to find her.

If she doesn't survive, I don't have any reason to live anymore. But if she were out there alive, I might still have a hope.

She might hate me, but I won't give up. I'd do anything to find her and pay for all the things I've done, even if it cost me my life.
