Gifts

Mr Huffington walks into the living room to see Avero and Winston . She was in a conversation with Winston and barely saw her father walk in.

"Hey sunshine can we go know?" He said to her with smile on his face.

"Of course dad." I have been waiting for you she said getting up to join her dad.

At that moment Sharon walks into the living she was still on her mission to speak to Shaw. On seeing her, Mr Huffington seem to remember something.

"Hey Sharon that reminds me I bought you a birthday gift on my way here. The recent events made me forget about it." Mr Huffington said.

"Wow really, but how did you know about it? " Sharon asked with surprise on her face.

"Avero here told me on the phone" he said nodding towards his daughter.

"That's is nice" Sharon giggled. Before the incident Avero had called her dad to inform him Tobin and Sharon shared the same birth day causing him to buy a gift for both of them.

"Where is Tobin? I also got a gift for him. Can someone please get him for me.? "

"Sunshine could you check the back seat of the car for me you will find their presents" he said turning to Avero.

Avero goes out to fetch the gifts while Winston goes to inform Tobin of his gift.

Mr Lancaster comes into the living room at this moment a little confused on why his friend was still in the living room till everything was explained to him. He scolds himself for not remembering to get presents for both of them but you couldn't blame him the recent events took everyone's attention.

Avero returns with a bag in her hand at the same time Tobin comes into the living room with Winston. This will be the first time he will be receiving a gift from Mr Huffington and he was excited about it.

Taking the bag from Avero Mr Huffington brings out a new headset for Tobin.

"Great another header for this boy"

Mr Lancaster scoffed. He has never liked the idea of Tobin with a headset around him

An excited Tobin could not contain his joy as he grinned from ear to ear.

"Thank you sir"he said receiving his gift with great joy. He was already thinking of how he was going to replace the one that was smashed by his father. Although he had a spare one he didn't like the idea of having just one headset. He stole a glance at Sharon to make sure she sees him collecting the headset asif to mock her for laughing at him when his dad smashed his headset.

Mr Huffington brings out a wrist watch for Sharon. The wrist watch was so beautiful it caused Avero to develop an upset stomach immediately. She was burning with jealousy. The wrist watch was silver plated. One look at it one could say it was very expensive.

"Will you allow me put it on your wrist? "Mr Huffington offered a beaming Sharon.

"Of course she said stretching her left arm forward."She was excited at receiving her first ever birthday gift since she entered the Lancaster family.

As Mr Huffington puts the wrist watch on her wrist he notices something that made him froze for some seconds.

"Dad, what is wrong?" Avero who has been watching closely asked her dad in whispers. She could tell his countenance changed in the process of fixing the wrist watch on her wrist.

"Nothing my child he replied with a forced smile. I just had difficult fixing the wrist watch on her."

"Thank you very much" Sharon said giving Mr Huffington a hug. She could feel he wasn't responding to her hug making her confused on what could be the reason for his change of mood.

You are welcome he managed to say before heading out with Mr Lancaster by his side who has been observing silently. He didn't seem to notice the change in his friend though. He was busy scolding himself for forgetting to get a gift.

"We will see tomorrow" Mr Huffington said to Mr Lancaster as he and Avero enters his car.

"Alright take care of my girl for me" Mr Lancaster said referring to Avero.

"Of course I will" he said waving his friend bye as he ignites the engine of the car.

"Dad what was that?" Avero asked her dad when they are had covered some distance.

"What was what?" He asked trying to feign ignorance.

"I saw the way you froze briefly when you were giving her the wrist watch."

"From the moments you told me about her exploits in the gun battle I have been suspecting her of hiding her real background from us." Mr Huffington replied calmly after some minutes of thought.

"Okay? But that doesn't explain why you froze"

Avero said trying to push her dad to say what he knows.

An uncomfortable silence followed, as Mr Huffington wasn't sure yet if he should tell her what he had discovered.

"I think Sharon is a spy" he finally blurted out.
