The Show is Called Hong Gate Festival

Editor: Exodus Tales

The children of the He family lacked nothing in their lives, so the presents were just for the occasion.

Wen Xi didn't even know what Huanhuan liked, anyway. She just pointed at a random one.

He Yan didn't hesitate either, simply buying it after that.

The two only spent a little over ten minutes shopping, and they were back in the car soon after.

It was like before, driving in silence.

Wen Xi, however, wasn't as calm as earlier. Her heart was all out of sorts thinking about what had happened earlier.

In that moment, the shock she felt was all swept away by the safety he provided.

She had to admit, sometimes being moved was only a matter of one moment.

But she wouldn't take this that seriously. With the experience she'd had in her last life, it'd be a waste of the gift the heavens had given her if she didn't learn from her mistakes.

Closing her eyes, she leaned against the pillow and waited for the car to arrive.

He Yan seemed to have sensed something from her and didn't prod her for conversation. He didn't even look at her, driving quietly.

After having her eyes closed for only a bit, though, her phone vibrated.

She took the phone and looked, seeing it was from Muyun.

She looked at He Yan before transferring the voice message into a text message.

The car wobbled a bit on the uneven surface of the road at that very instant.

Muyun's voice message played out loud.

"Wen Xi, if you want me to let you in the Nan family, sure. Tomorrow night, at seven, come to the Fanxiang Hotel, 2108. Let's talk about it."

Having her "secret" exposed in public like this was a weird feeling to describe.

The way Muyun had phrased it would make anyone think that Wen Xi was dying to marry into the Nan family- as if she was trying her best to get on the good side of their family.

He Yan was probably thought that. Swell.

Wen Xi blinked slowly, feeling the awkwardness rising once again.

This was the fifth time she'd been humiliated in front of him.

She wondered if this was a side effect of reincarnation. That, or it was a curse.

After another silence, she held onto her phone tighter. She looked silently at He Yan, but couldn't see his features in the darkness, only his slim face that was briefly illuminated from the streetlights.

Did he... not hear the message?

She didn't know why, but she didn't want He Yan to misunderstand her, even if it was something like this.

But this wasn't something she could just explain, it'd be like telling him her secrets.

Wen Xi took a breath, holding down the urge to explain. She kept the silence.

Not long after, they arrived at the He family house. Wen Xi got ready to get out of the car.

"I remember you used to study acting." He said suddenly.

Wen Xi stopped as she was opening the door, turning back and she looked suspiciously into his deep eyes. Why on earth was he talking about this all of a sudden?

She nodded. "That's right."

He Yan's voice was calm and clear. "One time I went to the film school by chance- I saw a rehearsal there. There was a show called Hong Gate Festival."

"Yes, why?" Wen Xi still didn't know why he was asking.

He Yan smiled a bit but didn't speak, patting her lightly on the shoulder instead as if he were encouraging her.

With that, he left the car.

In that instant, it suddenly dawned on Wen Xi. She understood right away.

This was unbelievable. She got out of the car and ran after him. "You're saying that Muyun is plotting a Hong Gate Festival against me?"

In truth, she knew what Muyun had done. She set a trap for her, but this was because she understood Muyun's personality and what had happened. He Yan didn't know any of that! How could he give her this sort of suggestion?

Was he aware of a secret of hers?
