chapter 24: first mission

TRAVIS' POINT OF VIEW

I sat on Lauren's chair as someone walked through the portal I sent. She looked around as she did her confused face and as soon as she faced at me, she flinched and panted.

"Don't worry, it's just me." I said as I looked at her then she sighed.

"Jonathan's Grandpa? Wait-" Jon's bestfriend said as she nervously walked towards me.

"Y-Yes Juliet, it's me." I replied as I sighed.

"Juliet?" She asked in confusion.

"Yes, I-I mean, you don't have to lie to me." I replied as I slowly stood up then she touched her earrings.

With no hesitation, I quickly walked towards her and I touched her earrings as well. I knew she is communicating with someone, the same as what Romeo and Juliet did back then through Romeo's bracelet.

"Wh-What are you doing?" She nervously asked.

"Travis? I-Is that you?" Juliet asked then I gasped.

"Juliet? B-But, how-? I don't understand, where are you?" I panickedly asked.

"Travis?" Jon's bestfriend mumbled.

"Travis, its you. Th-The man of my dreams." Juliet said as she sobbed.

"Oh my Juliet, I-I still can't believe its you." I said as I started to tear up.

Suddenly, there was a huge bright light on Jon's bestfriend's phone. She and I slowly removed our fingers from the earrings as we stood up then we looked at her phone.

"D-Does that happen ever since you are one of the users?" I asked as I looked at her.

"O-Once." She replied as the huge bright light went infront of us then we saw someone coming out of the portal.

And there it was, the love of my life, the lady I loved ever since middle school, the lady I promised to love in another life. She appeared from the portal with a beautiful smile. God, I miss that smile, her presence. Mostly, everything about her.

"J-Juliet?" Jon's bestfriend said.

"You succeeded the first part of our missions, Heather." Juliet said as she chuckled.

"Heather." I mumbled.

"I-I don't want to interrupt this precious moment, but I don't know what is going on in here." Heather said as she did her confused face.

"Your first mission after we met is to meet up with the person I've dated in your past life or in my life." Juliet said as she walked towards me.

"As a reward, I got to visit with the person you meet up with." She continued as I smiled at her.

"Th-That's great, but I don't understand why Mr. Travis sent me a portal notification." Heather said as she frowned.

"Because I am Lauren's brother and I happened to be her assistant or holder of the Magicias." I said.

"Th-The holder?" Heather asked then I nodded.

"Wow, so I guess I'm supposed to leave with Lauren to the hospital while you two spend some time?" Heather asked as she continued and crossed her arms.

"Oh don't worry, Lauren is on her way to the hospital." I replied.

"But, how-" She asked then I cutted her off.

"Her husband came here to grab her the moment you brought her in the real world. We used some sort of Magicia power for it, so there's nothing to worry about." I replied.

"I do need to learn more about Magicias." She said.

"Trust me, I've had a hard time learning about Magicias back then. Especially when I was once the holder and Travis-" Juliet said then Heather cutted her off.

"Alright, alright, I think I am not comfortable in hearing all these cheesy stuff you two had back then." Heather said as she frowned.

"Well, atleast you could have more information about it, you can even apply it on with you and Jonathan." I said as I laughed.

"J-Jonathan? We are just bestfriends Mr. Travis, nothing more." She said as she scoffed.

"She's right, she is even taken with Rafael McAdams-" Juliet said then she cutted off her own sentence as Heather glared at her.

"McAdams? As in, Romeo McAdams?" I asked.

"S-So, you know him." Heather said as she looked at me.

"Of course I know him, w-we were once friends." I said as I sighed.

"But, Jonathan didn't mentioned anything about you being taken with some other guy and I thought the moment I first saw you through video call is you are single." I continued as I turned around and walked back to the chair then they followed and I sat down.

"J-Jonathan and I haven't been communicating for awhile now, Mr. Travis." Heather said as they sat down infront of me and I slowly nodded then I cleared my throat to break the silence.

"Anyway, its good seeing you again Juliet." I said as I looked at her.

"Same to you, Travis." Juliet said as she chuckled and Heather glared at us.

"But, I still don't understand. How did you come out from Heather's phone like that? A-And how can I see you?" I asked.

"After I died during the battle back then, I asked my ancestors if I could still do my unfinished problems. So, they gave me an option that I could in my next life self and the lady you see infront of you is me in my second life." She explained.

"So, that's why I could see how she resembles as you?" I asked as I pointed at Heather.

"I guess, since Romeo and Lauren asked the same thing to me." Heather replied.

"C-Can I tell you girls a secret?" I asked then they slowly nodded with their confused faces.

"One of the reasons why Lauren asked you to be one of the users of the Magicias is because you look a lot like Juliet, she didn't believe me when I told her on your birthday because she thought I was imagining things." I continued as I sighed.

"Aside of that, Jonathan once talked about you through Lauren and I on how trustworthy you are and such a caring bestfriend towards him. He even told us how you saved him from drinking in the bar weeks ago, and in that moment, the crystal ball chose you as well to be one of the users of the Magicias."

"W-Wow, that's crazy, I-I don't know what to say." Heather said as she frowned.

"You don't have to say anything, as long as you will be a great user to Lauren and your fellow members is a big thank you from us for helping to finish the battle the enemies once started." I said as Juliet nodded.

"Thank you Mr. Travis for putting your trust on me and its surely a pleasure to be part of this team." Heather said as she smiled then I smiled back.

"I-I hate to break this moment, but in less than a few minutes, I will head back to where I should supposed to stay." Juliet said as she sighed.

"Oh, about that, where do you stay now?" I asked as I looked at her.

"Temporarily in the parallel universe, well once Heather solves the unfinished problems I had in the past, I-I could go back to where I really belong." Juliet replied.

"So, that means I cannot see you again?" I worriedly asked.

"You will, one day in God's perfect time." She replied as she smiled then I smiled back.

"You know, I just want to let this thought off out of my mind, but—" I said.

"I hope my Grandson finds his Juliet in his life, just like what Juliet and I used to have. Good times." I continued as Heather smiled.

"I hope so." Heather mumbled.

"Grandpa?" A familiar voice said from outside of the room.

"Grandpa Travis, is that you?"

"I-Is that Jonathan?" Heather asked as she whispered.

"Hide back there, quick!" I said as I whispered and I pointed at the cabinets then they did so and Jonathan opened the door.

"And I thought I was just hearing things." Jonathan said as I sighed in relief then I went inside.

"Jonathan! You left the hospital early." I nervously said as he nervously laughed.

"I-I, I mean—yes I did." He said as he did his confused face.

"Who were you talking to?" He asked as he crossed my arms and he walked towards me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked as I scoffed.

"Literally just a minute ago. Who were you talking to?" He asked as he glared at me.

"N-No one. I haven't told you this, but I l-love talking to myself sometimes." I replied then I did a nervous laugh.

"Alright then, I-I think I'll just head back to the hospital a-again." He nervously said as he walked backwards.

"Just wait for me in the living room and let's head back together." I said then he nodded as he left and I closed the door as I sighed in relief.

"You can come out now." I said as I turned around then they left their hiding place.

"Could I atleast speak with Jonathan for a bit, Sir?" Heather asked as they walked towards me.

"I'm afraid you couldn't, Heather. If you do, he would start to question on how you got here because he doesn't know anything about the Magicias, especially with you being one of them." I said as I lied.

"I-I understand, Sir." She said as she sighed.

"I'm sorry, but I only have a minute and half before I go back to the parallel universe." Juliet said.

"A-Already?" I asked as I grabbed the crystal ball.

"Yes, I'm really-" Juliet replied then I cutted her off as I kissed her on the lips.

"Oh okay." Heather mumbled as she stood up there like she is thirdwheeling us.

As soon as I kissed Juliet, I wanted this moment to last forever. I never actually planned on kissing someone who isn't physically alive, but I did and I'm glad I had the chance to kiss the love of my life after so many decades. Afterwards, we released from kissing with a smile on our faces.

"O-Okay, c-can you please send a portal notification through my phone?" Heather awkwardly asked.

"S-Sure, Heather." I replied then I did so.

"Thank you Mr. Travis for your help." Heather said as she smiled.

"You're welcome Heather, I'm glad we finally met." I said as I smiled back.

"Thank you as well Juliet for everything, you mean the absolute world to me ever since and I just want to let you know that I will always love you no matter what." I continued as I looked at Juliet.

"I love you too Travis more than anything and anyone in this world, thank you for everything." Juliet said as I started to tear up then I pulled her in for a hug and she hugged back as Heather pressed the portal notification.

"See you soon, Travis." Juliet said as we released from hugging and I nodded.

"See you soon, Heather." She continued as Heather smiled.

Juliet opened her parallel universe portal then they went inside to their own portals as I waved at them.

I'll miss you Juliet Fitzroy, I will forever do. Once I left in this world, I promise that the first thing I do is to find you and hug you in my arms once again.
