Chapter 48 Out of Nowhere

Renata thought she had ousted Aileen through her own spontaneous actions. Yet, to her surprise, it was all part of Collin's scheming. No one likes the feeling of being fully understood by someone else, every move tracked, even thoughts unspoken known to another. And the crucial part was, this person was not even a friend.

In a brief silence, Renata said, "Eight o'clock, Skyline Hotel."

"Right on time," Collin replied,

"Bring Lisa along."

A faint smile lingered on Collin's lips. "Why, have you grown fond of her?"

Driving, Renata responded, "She's been looking after me these past few days, helping me get better so quickly. I owe her."

With a light laugh, Collin said, "Alright, I'll bring her."

At the Skyline Hotel, a staff member pushed open the door to a private room. Collin spotted Renata at the head of the round table. As Renata looked up and smiled, Collin was taken aback by her good mood. Then, Renata said, "Lisa."
