Chapter 3 Family's Mockery

Renata went home. When she walked to the door of the villa and was about to change her shoes, she heard a young female voice from the living room. The woman said impatiently, "It's so annoying. They called me and asked me about this matter as if I was the woman who had been cheated."

Another older woman said, "But you don't even have the opportunity to marry him and enter the Johnson family."

The young woman sneered. "Do you still think it's a blessing to marry Collin? He asked the reporters to post the news to mock his wife and even showed off his charm in cuckoldry. Who wants this kind of blessing? I'm not an idiot."

"Keep your voice down."

The young woman's voice was even louder. "I'm in my house. Can't I speak loud? She married Collin in the name of commercial marriage with the Johnson family. I thought she could make some contributions to our family. Collin agreed the Johnson family and our family could respectively hold 45% shares of Sunshine Garden Resort, and the rest 10% would belong to the government. After half a year, we found out that the company under the name of the government was a shell company run by Collin."

The young woman continued with a sneer. "Others would at least get some property from their marriage. But Renata is very stupid. During her one-year marriage, she didn't get any benefits from the Johnson family but even lost her dowry."

The older woman said, "Stop talking. If Renata hears this, she..."

The young woman said, "She dared break a reporter's leg, but how dare she break my leg?"

"As long as you don't take a penny from Collin, I won't break your leg."

A woman's calm voice suddenly sounded in the living room. The two women on the sofa turned their heads at the same time and saw Renata standing at the door. She was wearing black slacks and a white shirt. The older woman came to her senses first. She immediately stood up and said, "Renata, you are back."

Renata didn't smile. She said lightly, "Freya."

Freya Smith said, "Just after you left City Hall, many people called me and asked about the details of your divorce. They are waiting to report it. I asked Renee to reject them. These reporters are really annoying. How dare they!"

Renata asked, "Who called you?"

Freya said, "You don't know them. Some are Renee's..."

Renata said, "In the future, don't get in touch with those people who were not qualified to come to my wedding."

Freya suddenly choked and fell silent. Renee Farley was sitting on the sofa. She said satirically without looking at Renata, "My surrounding people are ordinary. They are not as noble as your people. But your people dare bully you. I haven't seen you do anything to them."

Freya frowned and said, "What are you talking to her? Be polite."

Renee said, "Am I wrong? Her divorce brings humiliation to the Farley family. The outsiders said they had never heard of a woman who came to the man's family with a dowry and had been abandoned after just a year!"

Freya stared at Renee and made a gesture to beat her. Renata stood where she was with a straight face and said, "That's not what you said a year ago. You said that Dad was partial to me and let me have any good things."

Before Renee could speak, Renata continued. "I gave you Collin's contact information. Haven't you contacted him?"

Renee's eyes widened suddenly in anger. She was embarrassed. Actually, she had called Collin. After the phone got through, Collin said kindly, "You are Renata's sister. Don't do such things in the future. If others knew this, it would have brought a bad influence on you. It is also a shame to Renata."

Renee stared at Renata without blinking. She thought, "It must be Renata. She told Collin to humiliate her on purpose."

Renata looked into her eyes and said, "If you want to settle accounts with me, just do it."

Freya hurriedly explained, "You misunderstood Renee. We are worried about you after you divorced, so we come and want to help you."

Renata said calmly, "Freya, I'm sorry to let you worry about me."

Freya said, "Don't say that. We are family..."

Renee interrupted her, "Don't show excessive concern for her. You treat her like a family, but she only wants to become a family with the Johnson family. Collin didn't treat her as his family at all. After the project was over, he divorced her immediately. She is popular in Mondousville. Now, the Farley family is a laughingstock!"

Freya was angry. She said, "Renee, watch your mouth! What's wrong with you today? Is Renata willing to make it like this today? The owner of the shell company ran away. Renata also feels annoyed. You can't help your father and Renata to solve the problems in business, so you blame her for not doing a good job at this time. Renata is the same age as you. She is already sad after getting a divorce. Don't say these to trouble her."

Renata's voice was calm. "Freya, sit down and talk."

Renata passed by Freya, went to Renee, and said condescendingly, "Stand up."

Renee looked at Renata. Renata's strong aura not only came from her height of almost 5.5 feet but also from her experience. Since she was a young girl, her father, Camron Farley, brought her to attend various business conferences. When Renata was a teenager, she was domineering. But at present, she was defiant. There were few people in Mondousville who could match her.

The more Renee wanted to keep calm, the more nervous she was. She subconsciously kept on alert. Freya walked over from behind and persuaded Renata not to be serious with Renee.

Renata's eyes were cold, but her tone was even colder. "You are sitting in Dad's seat."

Freya and Renee's expressions were colorful. They were surprised, nervous, and unconvinced. Finally, their expressions turned into fear.

Renee threw the pillow to the side and said angrily when she got up. "You can't find the person. You've got the nerve to mention my dad. If there is something wrong with my dad, it's all your fault."

Renee pulled a long face and wanted to pass by Renata. Unexpectedly, Renata slapped her. There was a smack in the living room. Freya's eyes widen instantly in fright. Renee tipped her head after being slapped by Renata.

There was a dead silence in the living room. It took five seconds for Renee to come to her senses. She covered her cheek and turned her head. Her eyes were full of shock and anger. She shouted, "How dare you slap me! Don't you forget what Dad said? In the Farley family, no can are allowed to beat anyone!"

Freya stepped forward in a hurry and wanted to see Renee's face. Her eyes were full of distress for Renee. "Are you okay?"

After letting Renee put her hand down, Freya saw a red palm print on her face. Renee couldn't go out for at least five days.

Freya turned her head, looked at Renata with tears in her eyes, and said aggrievedly, "Renata, no matter how angry you are, you can't slap her. I know what Renee said irritated you, but I'm her mother. I have the right to teach her a lesson. You can't bully us like this when your father is not at home."

Renata looked at Freya and Renee, who were hugging each other. Her expression was as calm as before. She said cruelly, "Freya, I didn't ask someone to break her leg for your sake."

Freya and Renee stared at her at the same time. Renata continued, "Knowing that Dad is still in a bad condition recently, you still say these ominous words. I can forgive you if you swear to me. However, if you dare curse Dad, don't blame me for being cruel."

Freya was angry, but she dared not say anything. After a few seconds, Renee gritted her teeth and said, "Don't threaten me! I'm not afraid of you!"

Renata looked at her coldly. "If you are not my family, how dare you talk to me like that?"

Renee wanted to say, "Who do you think you are?" But when she saw Renata's gaze, she felt a pair of invisible hands squeezing her throat. She could not move and even dared not move.

In Mondousville, everyone knew Renata's status and personality. Even though she was no longer Collin's wife and had no relationship with the Johnson family, she was the daughter of the Farley family. With this identity alone, no one in Mondousville dared not provoke her.

Although Freya was older than Renata, she had no choice but to be careful in front of her. She grabbed Renee's arm and said, "Let's go home."

Renee was afraid of Renata. But she still couldn't help but say harsh words before she left, "Just wait and see. This isn't over!"

Renata turned a deaf ear to her threat. She ordered the servant, who was standing silently at the corner, "Disinfect the sofa. I want to have dinner in ten minutes."

Her meaning was obvious. Even a fool could understand that Renata was scolding Renee. Renee walked out and said, "I want to go to the hospital and see my father!"

Freya didn't nod or shake her head. After they walked out of the villa, they saw a dazzling red sports car in the yard. The black horse with the yellow label on it was eye-catching. It was a brand new LaFerrari.

There was a slender figure beside the sports car. It was Xzavier. He wore jeans and a white T-shirt. Renee neither dared talk to Xzavier nor wanted to provoke a good-looking man. But today, she thought he was annoyed because he was Renata's friend. Renee said in a sharp voice, "What day is today? Is it a wedding day? Does she want to cover the fact that she is an abandoned woman? Don't deceive yourself!"

Xzavier looked at Renee but didn't deliberately put on a cold expression. His beautiful eyes were like black diamonds. He said calmly, "It's Ms. Farley's birthday is tomorrow. This car is a birthday gift for her from Mr. Farley."

Renee and Freya's faces turned livid. They originally wanted to taunt Renata, but it was a slap in their faces.

Before coming to their senses, Xzavier stared at them and continued, "Miss Renee Farley, I want to remind you. Mr. Farley doesn't want to hear the word 'abandoned woman'. He said that he had prepared enough wheelchairs for those people who dare say it, including the Farley family. You know his meaning."
