94. The Quill

Stuart is in his car driving through the forest in his car heading straight to this old lab that Lord Tetherby has owned long before his death. "Yes sir. I'm almost near the lab." Stuart said talking to Andrew Tetherby on the phone." Once I'm there I'm going to check if anyone is in the lab."

"I doubt anything would be there except for some rats. But report back once you're done." Tetherby said.

"Yes sir." Stuart said. When Stuart arrived at the lab he saw several armed mercenaries waiting for him. "I take you're the ones Tetherby hired to protect me?"

"Yes sir. My name is Roy." Roy replied. "Tetherby wanted to make sure nothing dangerous in this old lab."

"I doubt that. It could be a rat tripping the motion sensors." Stuart said.

"Can't be too careful sir." Roy warned. He turns to his team of fifteen. "Let's move out."

"Yes sir!" The mercenaries replied in unison. Stuart types in a code into the labs door entrance and it auto opens. The mercenaries go in first, check the entrance for anything before turning back to their leader.

"All clear sir." One of the mercenaries reported.

"Good. Let's go farther in." Stuart ordered.

"Yes sir." said Roy as he and the rest of the mercenaries advanced into the lab.

"Do you there's a monster lurking around here like the one from Stranger Things?" One mercenary asked.

"I think you've been watching too many monster movies. It's probably nothing." Another mercenary replied.

The mercenaries and Stuart continued to move through the lab when they come across another room with tanks in it that looked big enough to hold a person. "

Sir! We found something!" One of the mercenaries shouted. Stuart heads into the room and his eyes widen.

"My God." Stuart said. "I must wonder what was in these?" As everyone looks around, Roy sees something.

"Sir, this tank is open." Roy shouted.

Something got out? Which means it's still here." Stuart said.

"Men, fan out and find that thing!" Roy commanded the other mercenaries.

"Yes sir!" The mercenaries shouted. They spread out and start searching. As they search, Stuart activates one of the computers. He scrolls through the files until he finds a file labeled 'Projects'. He clicks on it and saw a certain a couple projects that caught his attention.

"Project Wildzone?" Stuart read. He looked it over and he saw two separate reports. He clicked on one and he saw a project from as far as twelve years ago. "Project Camo?" He pulls out his phone and calls Tetherby. "Sir I found a couple projects from a project called Project Wildzone. It was where they combined human DNA with animal DNA which in turn activated the meta gene. Sir one of them was Camo."

"Camo, that lizard man?" Tetherby questioned. "I guess that answers something about his past."

"The second file dates back to 20 years ago, looks like this is first subject of project." Stuart said as he looked through the file. "Looks like they combined the subject's DNA with a Porcupine."

"Fascinating." Tetherby said. "Download the info and have the mercenaries find whatever is in there."

"Of course." Stuart said. He puts in a flashdrive and begins downloading the info. He turns to Roy. "Continue looking for whatever is in here."

"Yes sir!" Roy said as he exited the room to search for the subject.

"I wonder if there are others?" Stuart wondered as the download was complete and he removes the flashdrive.

As he waited, he heard shouting from outside the room. "PROFESSOR!" Stuart ran out of the room and gasped at what he saw. One of the mercenaries on the ground. Dead.

"Dear God." Stuart said. He approached the dead mercenary and when he got close he saw something sticking out of his chest. He bent down to get a closer look. "What is this?" He pulls the object out and examined it. "Is this a quill?"

"This is Ramirez, come in?!" A voice on the walkie talkie stated. "I made contact with test subject and it's attacking me!" Gunfire is heard along with Ramirez screaming and then gagging as static goes over the radio.

"Ramirez? Ramirez!" Roy shouted. "Damn. Lost him. Everyone guns ready!"

"Yes sir!" The mercenaries say. They hear footsteps coming towards them.

"Be careful boys." Roy said. "Professor take cover."

Stuart ran back into the room with tanks and hid behind the desk as he heard gunfire and mercenaries screaming in pain. "Come at me freak!" Roy shouted as he started firing from his assault rifle.

"I must leave!" Stuart said. He grabs the flash drive and runs toward the exit. As he ran he heard Roy scream in pain as well as the gunfire ceasing.

Stuart looked back a bit and then ran towards the exit, once he's out of the building he ran towards his car. Once Stuart enters his car, he put the key in the Ignition and starts it up. "Well those guys are dead and I'm not going to meet their killer." said Stuart.

Inside the lab, the dead bodies of the mercenaries laid scattered around the area. Standing over them stood a man in his late thirties with fair skin. He was currently not wearing any clothes and had black and white hair. He looked around the bodies until his landed on Roy's. He then walked into the computer area now wearing cargo pants and a tank top but no shoes. He then approached the computer that was on and looked it over until he saw his own picture.

"What the hell happened to me?" The man asked. "Who am I?" He then sees the name of the project next to his picture. "Quill? Well since I don't know who the hell I am, I guess that'll work for now."

He then read more of the file and sees a a name he wasn't thought he would never read again. "Tetherby. This must be the man who did this to me? I'm going to find him, find out who I am and then kill him." Quill growled and walked away.

When he got outside he saw that he was in the middle of the woods. "But first, WHERE THE HELL AM I!?" He shouted.

Meanwhile at Royal Woods mall, Lori is in a sports store looking for some new golf clubs. "Let's see." Lori said as she looked at the driver club and practiced a pretend swing with it. "I'm not sure if this is what I should call my personal Club."

She continued to look around and sees Carol looking at golf club bags. "Hey Carol!" She calls. Carol looks up and sees her friend.

"Hey Lori." Carol says. The two girls hug before sitting on a nearby bench. "So how you feeling after what Conductor did to you?"

"Better." Lori replied. "Head hurt for a few hours but after some sleep I'm feeling better."

"That's good, that you're feeling better. So what brings you here?" Carol asked.

"Luan used one of my golf clubs as a prop, it slipped out of her hands and it got run over by a car." Lori replied. "What about you?"

"Same problem but my dad was using it to chase away some raccoons." Carol replied.

"Guess that makes sense." Lori said. "But i just want to say thank you for helping Luna and the others free us from Conductor's mind control."

"It was no problem." Carol said. "I was more than happy to help."

"You know, the offer still stands." Lori told her. "You can join us. Be a member of the L-Crew."

"Lori, if I'm being honest I'm trying to get out of this game so to speak." Carol told her. "Look when your talking teddy bear asked me to help because I wasn't under mind controlled I almost said no. But he reminded me that the whole city was under Conductor's control and sometimes you gotta step up and help out. But Lori, I don't want to keep doing this. I don't want to do this all the time. So sorry Lori but the answer is still no."

"If you insist." Lori sighed. "It's just that, Chief Haggar told us that we'll be helping out other cities and states if he gets the all good on that part that is."

"Damn Lori. That sounds like a lot to work with." Carol replied.

"Yeah but it's only if there's situations that the cops can't handle." Lori explained. "I gotta go. I'm leading the team today so I gotta head to base. Just remember that you have a place with us. The others are starting to trust you. Hell Luna literally contacted you to help them. Just consider it ok?"

"Lori I'm standing firm on my decision." Carol said. "I'll still help if necessary but I'm trying to get out of this whole thing."

"Then I'm not going to stop you from getting a normal life." Lori said.

"I'm sure you'll find more people to join the L-Crew." Carol said.

"Maybe but honestly we're not really looking for new members." Lori said. "But i gotta go. See you."

"See you later Lori?" Carol said as Lori got off of the bench and walked away.

When Lori got to base, she found Soothsayer outside training with Petty while Mr. Cuddles and Tongri watched.

"Focus Petty." Soothsayer said. "You must increase your strength in all ways." Lori turned and saw Petty holding up three large shipping containers. "First your physical strength then your striking strength."

"Petty trying!" Petty replied. "Petty gets stronger!"

"Yes you will with my help!" Soothsayer said. "Now put those down. We'll continue tomorrow." Petty nods and puts the containers down before going inside followed by Tongri. Soothsayer goes to follow with Mr. Cuddles when he spots Lori.

"Ah greetings Lori." Soothsayer said. "It's good to see you my dear."

"Hey Soothsayer. Training Petty?" Lori asked.

"Yes, ever since his encounter with Rubbor he wanted to get stronger so he can defeat him." Soothsayer said.

"Well with your help I know he'll get there." Lori said. "Are the others here yet?"

"Luan and Lola just got here." Soothsayer answered. "Leni is still picking up Lynn and Lisa and Ronnie Anne is on her way."

"That's cool. We need to go on patrol soon." Lori said.

"How are your injuries from the Conductor?" Soothsayer asked.

"My head is feeling better and any injuries I suffered at the hands of Rubbor and Electron have healed." Lori said. "But I feeling great."

"Good. Also Ryker is here." Soothsayer told her.

"Wait Ryker's here?" Lori asked.

"Yes, he's sitting on the couch." Soothsayer said.

"I wonder what he wants?" Lori asked as she walked towards the couch where Ryker is sitting down.

"Lori." Ryker said with a tip of his hat.

"Hey Ryker. What brings you here?" Lori asked.

"Came to check on your progress with getting me home to my time." Ryker told her. "I did say I'd stop by from time to time."

"Well we've had some setbacks like this one guy who mind controlled the whole town with his singing and getting an escaped prisoner back to his cell." Lori explained.

"So y'all made no progress." Ryker said.

"Well no but Lisa is trying some things out." Lori said nervously. "Just please be patient."

"I don't have enough time. I need to get back to my time." Ryker said.

"Look there's been setbacks. These kind of things happen." said Lori.

"I know kid." Ryker said calming down. "Just getting a little anxious you know. Been here longer than I'd like."

"I know but trust me when i say we'll get you home." Lori said. "Just be patient."

"I'll be patient. But you and your team has to avoid setbacks." Ryker said.

"We'll try our best." said Lori.

"I'm trusting you." Ryker said. "Well I'm gonna head back to the bar. I'm expecting results though. I really want to get home."

"And we will." Lori assured him. "But just be patient please."

"You got it." Ryker said as he exited the base. Right when he exited the base, Leni, Lynn, Lisa and Ronnie Anne entered the base.

"Ryker." Lynn greeted.

"Ladies." Ryker Greeted.

"Oh dear. I hope he wasn't here about getting him home." Lisa said.

"I was!" Ryker shouted from the distance.

"Dang it." Lisa muttered. "These are the days I wish I still had my notes."

"Don't worry about it." Lori assured her. "We'll keep our word. But right now we need to go on patrol. Luan! Lola! Front and center!" Luan and Lola come running over.

"Sorry. We were restocking the fridge." Luan said. "So what's up?"

"We're going on patrol, so suit up." Lori said. She pressed a button on her watch and becomes Speed Queen. Then the other girls pressed a button on their watches and put on their hero suits.

"Right so are we like splitting up?" Multiple Girl asked.

"Yes." Speed Queen answered. "Multiple Girl your with Crystal Princess. Surge you're Ms. Appear and Prodigy you're with me. Mr. Cuddles can I trust you on the computer?"

"You know it!" The bear answered.

"Ok let.'s head out team!" Speed Queen said.

In the city, Speed Queen was running through the city while Prodigy flew just above her. "You're getting better at that." Speed Queen comments.

"Thanks you eldest sibling." Prodigy said. "I've added practice flying to my schedule." Their watches go off.

"Hey guys. There's a SUV that crashed into a lamppost not far from you." Mr. Cuddles said. "Something seems weird about so I would proceed with caution."

"You got it." Speed Queen replied. "We're on our way." Speed Queen hung up and they head to the location of the crashed SUV. Once the two reached the location they see a dark green SUV with the front smashed in the front.

"Remember what Mr. Cuddles said. Proceed with caution, it could be a trap." Prodigy said.

"Right." Speed Queen said. "Stay behind me." Prodigy nodded and followed Speed Queen as she approached the vehicle. She heads to the driver's side and opens the door to see a man slumped over the steering wheel. "Got someone." Speed Queen grabs him and gently pulls him out of the vehicle and lies him down. Prodigy immediately runs to his side.

"Oh dear." Prodigy said. "The amount of injuries he could possibly have. I must check for any serious gashes." She pulls up his shirt and to her surprise he had no injuries. "How is this possible?" Suddenly the man's open quills grow on his arms but this didn't go unnoticed by Speed Queen.

"Prodigy look out!" Speed Queen shouted. She immediately grabbed Prodigy right as the man fired multiple quills from his body at them. "What the hell is happening? What's he firing at us?"

"Not sure. See if you can catch one." Prodigy requested. Speed Queen nods and quickly throws her hand up to catch one of the items. "This looks like a porcupine quill."

"A porcupine quill?" Speed Queen said. "Is he an animal mutant?"

"A possibility. But we need to get closer!" Prodigy stated.

"Right." Speed Queen said. "Hang on!" She then starts maneuvering around the quills as the attacker fired them from his body. "He's a decent shot I'll give him that."

"Well?!" Prodigy asked

"Give me a minute." Speed Queen shouted back. She dodges around all the quills and hits the man with a kick to the chest knocking him back. The man then grows three long quills from his forearms and gets into a fighting stance. Speed Queen places Prodigy back on the ground and faces the stranger. "Stay back. Let me try to deal with this."

"Very well. Be careful." Prodigy said. "I feel that this man is dangerous. Speed Queen nods and approached the man. The man then rushes her with his quill blades and swings at her. Speed Queen uses her super speed to avoid the strikes before hitting two hard strikes. The man swings at her again and once again Speed Queen avoids them with her speed before hitting a few strikes followed by an uppercut.

"That the best you got?" Speed Queen asked.

"Hardly." The man said. He then rushes her and starts swinging at Speed Queen wildly with Speed Queen continuously dodging them but then starts to struggle as he keeps swinging at her. She then catches catches his one arm and tries to keep the quills from reaching her.

"Why are you trying to kill us?" Speed Queen shouted.

"I don't know!" The man shouted back. "I don't even know who the hell you are or where I am! Now that I think about it, what the hell are we doing?"

"You crashed your car into that streetlight and knocked out." Speed Queen explained. "You could of been killed."

"Just who are you anyway?" Prodigy asked.

"Oh. I'm Quill." The man replied. "Well that's what I'm gonna call myself because I don't remember know who I am."

"Maybe we can help you find out who you are." Speed Queen said.

"Nah. I'm in no rush." Quill said. "Eventually I'll worry about figuring out who I am but for now I'm focused on one thing."

"And that would be?" Prodigy prompted.

"Oh brutally killing someone." Quill said. "Now if you excuse me, I must be on my way. Later." He then runs off and uses his quills to climb up a building leaving Speed Queen and Prodigy alone dumbstruck.

"We gotta stop him." Speed Queen said.

"Agreed." Prodigy said.

Speed Queen presser a button on her watch. "Guys this is Speed Queen! Prodigy and I had a run in with a new Meta human." Speed Queen explained.

"So what's this meta human's Power?" Mr. Cuddles asked.

"He looked like a porcupine and he's looking for someone." said Speed Queen.

"Let's see if what I can find." Mr. Cuddles said as he typed on the keyboard until he finds footage of the meta. "Found him. He's making his way across buildings."

"Right. Everyone try to cut him off." Speed Queen ordered.

"Right!/You got it!" The other heroes replied on the watch.

Quill ran along the rooftops but stops suddenly when an energy blast is shot in front of him. "You know, running along rooftops isn't usually the best idea." Quill looks up and sees Surge and Ms. Appear floating above him.

"More of you freaks?!" Quill questioned.

"You're calling us freaks?" Surge asked. "When was the last time you looked in the mirror?"

"I don't have time for for this! Quill said.

"I guess you've got a point!" Ms. Appear joked. Surge rolled her eyes. However, Quill just burst out laughing.

"Point!" Quill said while laughing. "Because i grow quills and they're pointy! That's the funniest thing I've heard in twenty years! Granted I don't remember anything but that's beside the point. Tell me another one!"

"I guess you're a fan of Acupuncture. Judging be the needles that are still on your back." said Ms. Appear as she laughed,

Quill kept on laughing so hard that he wiped a tear from his eye. "Damn kid, you're hilarious." He said. "Damn I needed that. Well this has been fun but I gotta go." He then starts walking off. "Later."

"Alright see ya." Ms. Appear said before realization hit her. "Oh wait. You can't leave! I'm sorry but we can't let you go and kill someone." Quill stopped and looked at her.

"Why not?" Quill asked. "If they deserve it they deserve it. What's wrong about that?"

"Well killing is kinda bad." Ms. Appear said. "And we can't let you do it."

"Well if you say so." Quill said. He then grew two long quills from his hands and held them like swords. "Then I guess that means you're in my way." Ms. Appear narrows her eyes and forms two forcefield blades.

"I guess it does." Ms. Appear said.

Both Ms. Appear and Quill both charge at each other and both of their blades clashes, Quill tried to slash Ms. Appear, but she blocked the attack with both of her forcefield blades. She then kicks Quill in the chest, pushing him back. "Who are you trying to kill?" Ms. Appear asked.

"Why should I tell you? So you can alert the police to his location!" Quill replied.

The two charge again and clash their blades. Ms. Appear swings her blades at Quill but he avoids them and jumps over her so that he's behind her where he kicks her in the back.

Surge held up her hand and shot an energy blast at Quill, knocking him down. "Look Spikes. We're not going to stop until we take you down and then downtown." Surge said.

"Look technically i haven't done anything yet." Quill said. "I only said I was gonna kill someone."

"That's still illegal." Surge told him.

"Huh. Man you're gone for twenty years and stuff happens." Quill said. "But no I'm committed to this so I'm gonna do it."

Surge flies towards Quill to punch him, but Quill grabs Surge by the arm throws her to the side. "Let's do this again." Surge said as she flew toward Quill again, but Quill grabs Surge by the neck and choke slams Surge to the ground.

Then Quill crub stomps on both of Surge's arms and she screams in pain. "Huh, I didn't expected that to happen." Quill said.

"What me to scream in pain at you stepping on my damn arms?" Surge asked sarcastically.

"No, me being able to catch while you're flying." Quill said. "Oh well." He steps off her and kicks her sending her flying. He turns around to walk away where he narrowly avoids the forcefield blade from Ms. Appear. He quickly grows two long quills and uses them to counter Ms. Appear's blades. "You again. The funny one."

"Yeah and you'll pay for breaking Surge's arms." Ms. Appear said.

"I'm not scared of you metal mouth." said Quill.

"Ok that actually kinda hurts." Ms. Appear admitted.

"Oh sorry about that." Quill said. "I guess words hurt sometimes."

"Yeah." Ms. Appear said. She then knees him in the stomach followed by a slash from her blade which caused Quill to stumble back a bit. Ms. Appear noticed a large slash mark on his chest. "Ha! Take that!" However her happiness disappeared when the injury healed.

"Well that sucks." Surge said. "I wanna try something." She then concentrated and fired an energy beam from her eyes that hits Quill and sends him flying off the building. "Cool."

"Nice shot." Ms. Appear said.

"Thanks." Surge said. "Should we check if he's ok or something?"

"Yeah probably." Ms. Appear said before handing Surge a pill. "Here take one of these." Surge opens her mouth and Ms. Appear places it in her mouth. After a few seconds Surge's arms heal. They peer over the building's edge and much to their surprise they see Quill quickly climbing up the building with his quills.

"You gotta be kidding me." Surge said only to be uppercutted by Quill that knocks her down. He then grows quills on his heels and on his forearms.

"This guy isn't playing." Ms. Appear said. She pressed a button on her watch. "How far away are you guys?"

"We're like almost there." Multiple Girl replied over the watch.

"Prodigy and I are a few blocks away." Speed Queen replied.

"Well you better hurry because I think this guy is the real deal." Surge said.

"I don't have time for this." Quill said as he charged towards Surge and Ms. Appear and striked, but Ms. Appear forms a forcefield around the two and blocked off Quill's attack.

"Now to turn the tables!" Ms. Appear said as she formed a forcefield sphere around Quill.

"What the hell?" Quill exclaimed. "What's going on?"

"Simple. I reversed my forcefield into a sphere made for you." Ms. Appear explained. "But if I were you I save your oxygen."

"You know this is considered cheating." Quill said. "Thought you were the good guys but I guess you're no better than I am."

"He does have a point Ms. Appear." Surge agreed. "We're suppose to be better than him."

"Fine." Ms. Appear sighed and broke her concentration on the forcefield sphere, the sphere disappears and Quill drops to the ground.

"Thank you." Quill said before suddenly kicking Ms. Appear in the stomach and sending her off the building.

"Dude not cool!" Surge growled. She flies towards him and tries to hit him with her energy fists but Quill avoids them.

Surge flies towards Quill and tries double punch him, but Quill punches Surge in the chest, then gives Surge a roundhouse kick. Surge fired an energy blast at Quill but he dodges the blast. Then Quill gives Surge a backhand smack to the ground.

Surge gets back up and narrowly avoids the slashes from the quills on Quill's forearms before also ducking under heel quills.

"Getting a little nervous?" Quill taunted. He then fires dozens of quills off of his body at Surge to flies to try and avoid them.

"Come on Surge, you can get a clear on this clown." Surge said as she avoided the quills. She then charged up her right hand and shoots it at Quill.

"Uh oh." Quill said right before he got hit by the beam that sends him off the other side of the building.

"Starting to think building fights aren't that safe." Surge said.

On the ground, Multiple Girl and Crystal Princess were making their way towards their teammates's coordinates.

"Almost there." Multiple Girl said.

"Good. Wonder how dangerous this guy is?" Crystal Princess asked. However before they got any further something came crashing down in front of them forcing Multiple Girl to hit the breaks. They look out to see a man lying on the ground.

"Oh my God." Multiple Girl gasped. "I hope he didn't jump." However they hear a groan and see the man start to get up.

"Man that didn't feel right. But man I'm getting hungry." The man said. He then sees the two girls. "Oh hi. I'm Quill. You got anything to eat on you?"

"No we don't have any food. But there's a Burping Burger a few blocks away." Multiple Girl replies.

"Oh cool thanks." Quill said.

"Multiple Girl that's the meta human that Prodigy and Speed Queen we're talking about." Crystal Princess stated.

"Are you sure?" Multiple Girl asked. They then hear shouting and they look up to see Surge flying down at full speed.

"Uh oh." Quill said. He backflips out of way before blocking a right hand from Surge.

"Is that enough for you?" Crystal Princess asked.

"No not really." Multiple Girl answered.

"What's it going to take to convince you?" Crystal Princess asked.

"I don't know? Does he want to kill someone?" Multiple Girl shrugged.

"Yes actually." Quill responded as he grabbed Surge and threw her. "I also kicked a girl that made me laugh off a roof. I already miss her. She was funny."

"That enough for you?" Crystal Princess asked.

"Yeah that's enough." Multiple Girl answers.

"Let's get this guy." Crystal Princess said as she formed a crystal bat in her hand and charged towards Quill.

She whacks Quill in the jaw with her crystal bat followed by getting hit by a right hook from Multiple Girl.

"This just doesn't seem fair." Quill said. Soon, Speed Queen and Prodigy arrived. "And now it's even worse." He feels a tap on his shoulder and he turns to see Ms. Appear who waves at him. "Alright so it looks like we're doing this." He grows two long quills. "Let's party."

Ms. Appear forms two forcefield blades in her hands and Crystal Princess forms another crystal bat in her left hand. Both of them charge at Quill and attacked with both of their weapons. But Quill dodges the attack and strikes Crystal Princess with his quills. Speed Queen runs towards Quill and punches him in the face.

Quill scowls as he slides back before firing his quills at her. Speed Queen runs around them only to realize she was running out maneuver room as quills started to cover the road forcing her to slow down. Quill then runs up and knees her in the face. Ms. Appear then rushes him with her forcefield blades. Quill quickly forms two longer quills his blades crash with Ms. Appear's. With a thrust Quill pushes Ms. Appear before using his quills to take her feet out from under her.

Surge starts shooting energy blasts at Quill, but he dodges the blasts, then he gives Surge a roundhouse kick to the chest. Crystal Princess jumps in the air with both crystal bats in her hands, but Quill moves out of the way and the crystal bats hit Surge by accident. Quill looks up and sees some trash cans levitating in the air.

Quill looks down and sees Prodigy holding the trash cans, then throws them towards Quill. But manage to avoid the trash cans.

Quill grabs a trash can and throws it at Prodigy who stops it in midair only to get hit by a jumping kick sending her falling to the ground. Multiple Girl and her clones then surround Quill who eyes them all up.

"Let's do this." Quill said and fired his quills all around him hitting a few of the clones. The original looks down at her fallen clones before turning to the remaining ones.

"Like we're not afraid." Multiple Girl said.

"Then show me what you got." Quill challenges as he grew three quills from his forearms.

Multiple Girl and the rest of her clones all charged towards Quill. One of the clones punched Quill in face, but hits he clone with his quills on his forearm. Then he kicks a second clone in the guy knocking her down. Then the main Multiple Girl gives Quill a right hook to the side of his chest.

"Look I don't want to do this but you're leaving me few options." Quill told Multiple Girl. "Just stand aside please."

"I'm sorry but I can't totes do that." Multiple Girl tells him. "If I do that you'll kill someone and I don't want that."

"You think i want this?" Quill asked. "I didn't ask to be this. I was turned into this and I have no memory of why or how it happened. Just stand aside so I can get justice."

"I'm sorry but no." Multiple Girl said.

"Fine. Have it your way." Quill said. The two charged towards each other but are interrupted by the sound of crashing and screaming causing them to stop.

"What's going on?" Crystal Princess asked. Soon a man runs up to them.

"L-Crew! There's a massive pileup down the block!" The man told them.

"Massive pileup?" Speed repeated. "The quills! They were still in the road! L-Crew we gotta get down there and help civilians."

"What about him?" Surge asked.

"Leave him. We have more important matters to attend to." Speed Queen said.

"Alright let's help the people and then deal with this guy." Surge said as the rest of the L-Crew ran off to help the citizens.

"What just happened?" Quill asked. "Wait here'e my chance to escape and kill Lord Tetherby." Quill said as he ran away.

When the L-Crew arrived at the scene they saw several emergency vehicles already on the scene.

"Ok we need to help free the people in the cars." Speed Queen said.

"And we must hurry." Prodigy added. "Some of these cars are ready to combust."

"Right let's go." Speed Queen ordered.

The L-Crew all ran to the cars to help the citizens. Surge flew over to a flipped over car and saved a woman wearing a business suit. Crystal Princess forms a crystal crowbar in her hands, and uses it to pry the car down open, once the car down opens up Prodigy uses her telekinesis to lift a man out of the driver seat and placed him to a safe place.

Ms. Appear used her forcefields to move cars aside which allowed Multiple Girl and her clones to get close and free civilians. Speed Queen sped around the area helping people on the sidelines get to medics.

"L-Crew watch out those cars are starting to burst into flames!" A firefighter shouted. One of the cars then burst into flames which then caused several other cars to burst into flames.

"Did we get everyone?" Ms. Appear asks. Suddenly a woman comes running up.

"Wait my baby is still in the car!" She cried pointing to the car behind the flames.

"Oh no!" Ms. Appear exclaimed. "Speed Queen we got a baby in the car surrounded by flames."

"Damn it. Can't get close." Speed Queen said.

"Don't worry I'll form a forcefield around you." Ms. Appear said. Suddenly someone goes running past her towards the flames. Ms. Appear gasps when she sees it's Quill. "Wait it's too dangerous!" Quill doesn't answer and dives through the flames.

"Is he crazy? He could get killed." Multiple Girl said.

The car exploded as the L-Crew covered their eyes, but they hear an infant crying. They look up and see Quill running back to the L-Crew with the baby in his arms, unharmed from the flames, as he walked towards the mother. "Is this your kid?" Quill asked.

"Yes. This is my son." The mother replied. Quill handed the baby to the mother as she cradled the baby. "I don't know how to thank you?"

"Don't worry it was nothing." Quill said before turning away from the mother and faced the L-Crew who noticed his burns were healing.

"You saved him?" Speed Queen asked. "Why?"

"Yeah you could've ran off but you didn't." Ms. Appear added.

"Well this is technically my fault so I figured I'd try to fix things." Quill explained. "Look I'm can't not kill the person I'm after. I just can't. However I will put it off for now mainly because it's been a long day. Here's the thing I don't see you as my enemies but if you get in my way, I'll do what I need to do to get my job done."

"We won't stand in your way." said Speed Queen.

"Good, so long L-Crew." Quill said as he began to walk away into the sunset.

"Are you seriously promising him that we won't get in his way if he goes to kill someone?" Crystal Princess asked.

"For now." Speed Queen said. "As long as he doesn't go and kill anyone we'll leave him be. But if he does, we'll stop him."

"Next time we meet I'm going to break both of his arms." Surge said to herself.

"I doubt you'll succeed." Prodigy said. "He appears to have a healing factor."

"Wherever he ends up, I hope he finds what he's looking for." Multiple Girl said.

Quill is walking through the streets of Royal Woods as he looked around the city. "Man things look different in the past twenty years." Quill said as he looked at a window for an electronic store and see a bunch of flat screen TVs. "A lot happens when you're stuck in a lab."

He sees a tall building in the distance that piqued his interest. "Wonder what that is?" He asked himself before running up a building.

On a building across from Tetherby Industries, Replicate and Alice stood scouting out everything. "Tetherby's updated his security since last time." Replicate comments.

"No doubt he's hiding something and that something is something we need to find out." Alice said.

"We must be careful, I heard that Tetherby found a new metahuman, who has the powers of the sun." Replicate said.

"Where did you hear that?" Alice asked.

"I have my ways." Replicate replied.

"You never give me a straight answer." Alice complained.

"That's how I am you know this." Replicate said. He then hears someone running towards them. "Alice take cover."

"Take cover? Why?" Alice asked.

"Just do it." Replicate ordered. Alice does as she's told and runs towards a vent and takes cover. As soon as she does so, she sees another man run up and try to hit Replicate with jumping kick but Replicate dodged. "Did you think you could sneak up on me?"

"Actually I did." The man admitted before growing three sharp blades from his forearms. "But now, i ain't sneaking anywhere."

"Never seen you before." Replicate said.

"I'm brand new." The man said.

"Then let me introduce myself." Replicate said before getting in a fighting stance. "I'm Replicate." He then rushes forward and goes to the man with a right hook but the dodges it. He then goes for a backfist but the man ducks. The strange man then slashes at him with the three blades on his forearms but Replicate successfully dodges them.

The man lunges towards Replicate with his three blades pointing towards Replicate, but Replicate dodges the attack, but he elbows the man in the back. The man recovered and tried to slash Replicate but he dodged the swipes.

"You're tenacious I'll give you that." Replicate said. "But you're no match for me."

"Wanna bet." The man said. Suddenly several more things started growing off his body which Replicate saw were quills. The man then fired all the quills off his body at Replicate.

Replicate dodges the quills and took cover behind a wall. "How the hell am I going to take this guy down?" He asked himself.

He gets an idea and runs out of cover to face the man.

"Had enough yet?" The man asked.

"No but I have an idea to beat you." Replicate said. His eyes flash and he grows sharp objects from his forearms. "Quills. I see. Now let's try things now."

Replicate shoot some quills from his forearms and the man dodges the quills. "Using my own power against me." the Man said.

"That's what I do." Replicate said.

"Impressive. I will admit." The man said.

"Then let's end this." Replicate said. The two form two long quills and charge at each other. Once they're close they thrust both their blades forward. Replicate winced in pain as he felt the quills go through his stomach.

"Gotcha. I win." The man said.

"You sure?" Replicate asked with a smirk. The man looks down and sees Replicate's quills in his stomach.

"Well what do you know?" The man said. He then starts laughing as they both pull their quills put allowing their wounds to heal. "You got me." He holds out a hand. "Call me Quill."

"Replicate." Replicate said as he shook Quill's hand.

"Is it safe?" Alice asked.

"Everything's fine." Replicate replied.

Alice comes out of her hiding spot and approached the the two. "Hey. How's it going?" She says to Quill. "I'm Alice. I'm Replicate's partner."

"Pleasure to meet you." Quill said. "So what's that big building over there?"

"That's Tetherby industries." Replicate said.

"Tetherby. As in Lord William Tetherby?" Quill asked. "He has something to do with why I look like this. Now it's payback time."

"Hold on." Replicate said. "I'm afraid you're a little late. William Tetherby is dead."

"Oh. Well that sucks." Quill said.

"But his son lives." Replicate added. "But it's almost impossible to get to him. His security is impressive plus he has a hunter that's like a super soldier and a meta human with sun powers."

"So he has protection? So much for my revenge. Unless those guys are out of the picture." Quill said. "Then his son will be mine."

"You're getting a little ahead of yourself." Replicate said. "We all have problems with Tetherby and his son has the answer to all of them."

"True." Quill admitted. "I need answers. Like who was I before? Why am I like this? And what was he gonna have me and whoever project Camo was do?"

"Wait did you say Camo?" Replicate asked.

"Yeah what about it?" Quill asked.

"Camo was apart of a team I was on. Along with a bunch of other Meta humans." Replicate said.

"How long ago?" Quill asked.

"Twelve or eleven years ago." Replicate answered.

"That's around the time they experimented on him." Quill said. "But he wasn't there long. He escaped but probably had no memory of anything."

"Tetherby." Replicate growled. "Made Camo into a monster. He was a lot to answer for."

"Seems like we have a common enemy." Quill said. "How about an alliance? You guys help me, I help you." Replicate thinks about it and turns to Alice who nods.

"Fine." Replicate said. "An alliance. But you do what I say."

"Whatever you say pal." Quill said. "So can I stay at your place?"

Ryker sat in at the bar with a glass of liquor in front of him. He had been drinking for the past thirty minutes and had no plans on stopping. He hears someone sit next to him.

"I'll take the usual." The man said. Ryker turned and saw a large burley African American man wearing a tank top and jeans sitting next to him.

"Hello there cowboy." The man greeted. "What they call you?"

"The name's Ryker." Ryker introduced himself.

"Ryker Huh? You're not from around here are you?" The man asked.

"No I'm not." Ryker said as he drank his liquor.

"From out of town?" The man asked.

"Something like that." Ryker said. "More like a different time. Working on getting home."

"Who's helping you?" The man asked.

"The L-Crew." Ryker said. "They're working on someway to bring me back to my time."

"Have they started?" The man asked.

"Why does it matter to you?" Ryker asked as Todd brought the man his drink. "Why does it matter if the L-Crew have started or not?"

"Because my friend I'm going to level with you." The man said. "The L-Crew can't help you. They're lying to you in hopes that you'll choose to stay here and help them."

"That's a lie. They just have some setbacks." said Ryker.

"That is the real lie. They're just saying that to keep you here." The man said.

"Is there a point to this pal or not?" Ryker asked.

"There is." The man said. "I know someone who can help you. Who can ACTUALLY help you. He can get you home to your time. For a price." Ryker thinks about and he had to admit that the man made sense. However he did promise the kids that he'd give them a shot. But they were taking forever.

"I'll think about it." Ryker said. The man nods, finishes his drink and gets up after he places money on the counter.

"That's all I ask." The man said. He placed a card on the counter by Ryker before walking away. He

"What's your name?" Ryker asked.

"Leonard Miller." The man said before walking out. Ryker sighs and picks up the card and looks at it.

"The Jestor?" Ryker read. "Well alright then. Let's see what happens."

Tetherby sat in his office as he looked at the report. "So anything to report about the lab Stuart?" Tetherby asked.

"There was an old project and it killed all of those mercenaries that you hired." Stuart explained.

"Interesting." Tetherby said. "Necessary losses though. Their sacrifice was needed so we could succeed. As for the experiment?"

"Escaped." Stuart said. "He arrived in the city and fought the L-Crew. Where he went after that is unknown."

"He fought L-Crew and now he's somewhere in Royal Woods." Tetherby said.

"I'll search for him. Even if I have to search every home in this city." Stuart said.

"No. That won't be Necessary." said Tetherby.

"Are you sure?" Stuart asked. "We can easily have Xander track him down."

"I'm sure. Right now we have something bigger at plan and I want that completed." Tetherby said.

"Yes sir." Stuart said. "I'll get back to work on that."

"Good." Tetherby said before turning to Mercer. "Mercer, I want you to come with me."

"What for?" Mercer asked.

"I want to meet Cheat." Tetherby said. "I want to see if it's right to fear him."

"If you think he's threat that is." Mercer said.

"That is for myself to decide." Tetherby said.

"Remember Tetherby, don't take Cheat lightly." Mercer said. "He's a lot more dangerous than he seems."

Zachlor16: Hey guys. Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Now quick few things. 1) Lana's dragon form is green. Not blue. People assumed it was blue but no, it's green. 2) the person who asked about giving Clyde a suit, go back to the 'Heart of Nuke' chapter and you'll see that we're building up to it. 3) We are not gonna make a tropes page because we have no clue how. Sorry. 4) there were only three metas on file. One was Conductor, one was Cheat and the other was a meta we haven't introduced yet so stay tuned. 5) We are slowly but surely reaching the 100 hundred chapters mark which is big and I think it's six chapters away which is crazy.
