CHAPTER 11

Rosemarie's Pov:

After leaving the hospital, Jada was better and healthier.

I was so happy that she was back to her normal self, it was as if that incident never happened and I was so grateful for that. Anne was a sweet aunt and made sure all their needs were taken care of.

I was at peace and Anne made me happy when she asked if we could move in with her.

She had gotten used to our presence to the extent she didn't want to let us go.

Of course, the twins were happy with the idea but then wouldn't it be weird moving to my younger sister's apartment when it seems to be the other way around?

Anne assured me that she had plenty of space and that it would be good for all of us to be together, especially for the twin's sake. Plus, it would give me a chance to bond more with Anne and spend quality time with her since she stays alone.

As we settled into Anne's apartment, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. It was comforting to know that we had a safe and supportive environment to call home.

Anne went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, decorating the twin's room with their favorite colors and toys, and even preparing special meals for us.

After fully moving in, I began my search for jobs and finally got one as a receptionist in a company not too far from Anne's apartment.

Living with Anne also allowed me to focus more on my work without worrying about household chores and expenses.

With her help, I was able to dedicate more time to myself and put more effort into everything about me. Anne's encouragement and support boosted me, and I felt inspired to pursue my dreams with renewed determination.

Despite the initial concerns about moving in with my younger sister, I quickly realized that it was one of the best decisions we could have ever made.

Our bond grew stronger every day and I cherished the moments we shared as a family. Anne's kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and I couldn't have asked for a better sister or a more loving home for me and my twins.

As days turned into weeks, our little family flourished In Anne's care. We laughed, we cried and we created memories that would last a lifetime.

And through it all, I knew that no matter what challenges life threw our way, we would always have each other's backs. With Anne by our side, I was confident that together we would overcome anything that came our way.

On one fateful day, a sudden knock on the door shattered the peaceful atmosphere.

Anne hesitated for a moment before cautiously opening it, only to be met by the menacing figure of her ex-husband.

My heart pounded in my heart as I watched Anne's expression shift from surprise to fear.

Her ex had always been trouble and I knew his presence could only mean trouble for all of us.

Ignoring all Anne's attempts to shut the door, he barged into the apartment, scanning through the room until they landed on me and the twins. With a cruel smirk, he taunted Anne, threatening and hurling insults at her for leaving him.

My blood ran cold as I realized the depth of his anger and desperation. I tried to protect my sister and the twins but was hurt in the process.

It was clear that he would stop at nothing to make Anne suffer for daring to walk away from him

Before any of us could react, he lunged forward, grabbing hold of Jasmine and pulling her away from me.

My heart stopped as I watched in horror, helpless to stop him as he dragged my precious daughter out of the apartment and into the unknown.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I reached out for her, my voice trembling with desperation.

Anne's eyes filled with tears as she pleaded with him to let her go, but he only laughed, reveling in the pain and anguish he was causing.

With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I realized that we were facing a nightmare unlike any we had ever known.

He had crossed a line that could never be undone, and now, our only hope lay in finding a way to bring back jasmine home safely.

It felt like a dream, but I wouldn't just turn a blind eye to Jasmine being kidnapped. We got to the nearest police station to report the case of kidnapping, and they asked me for some details about Jasmine.

While waiting for their reply, Anne began to beg me saying she was the one that caused all this and how she promised to bring Jasmine back to us.

She told me how she went through a lot of trouble with her ex-husband. How he would blackmail her and physically abuse her, but she couldn't say anything because she loved him and hoped he would change.

She had gone through all this and I had no idea. I comforted her and made her promise that she wouldn't bottle up things like that but rather share them with me and she promised.

The police told me that they would get back to us the next day and that we should go home.

I hated the fact that they were delaying and not taking action immediately to rescue Jasmine, so I made up my mind that if I didn't get any feedback from them the next day, I would take action into my own hands.

On getting home, Jada kept on crying and asking for her sister, but I kept on assuring her that Jasmine would be back home soon.

Anne made dinner for two, and I didn't have an appetite, my mind kept on going to wherever Jasmine was, is she okay? I Hope James isn't sexually assaulting her.

Has she eaten? Hope he isn't beating her. A lot of questions kept crawling into my mind and the more I thought, the more I panicked and the more I felt I should be out there looking for Jasmine.

I couldn't sleep that night, I hated myself for not fighting hard to protect myself. I heard my door creak and saw a shadow, I was afraid as I thought somebody had broken in but later found out it was Jada.

She couldn't sleep because she didn't like the fact that she was sleeping alone for the first time in a long time without her twin by her side. I tucked her in beside me and petted her to sleep.

Morning came, and I expected a call from the police and still nothing. I proceeded to call Michael to tell him about the situation and how I had planned to rescue Jasmine whether the police helped or not.

He told me he was in and was ready to look for Jasmine too.

Anne, Michael and I decided to check every possible place James could have taken Jasmine, with the hope that we would all bring Jasmine back and lock James up in an asylum where he belongs.
