IN LOVE
"Heyy" I hear a faint yell from a distance and swiftly raise my head to follow where the voice was being heralded from.
I could see a dark figure running and stumbling in their steps, approaching me.
It was Taehyung. I got up filled with content and ran towards him with a beaming smile on my face and rushed into his arms.
He embraced me and spinned me around.
"What took you so long?" I said as he put me down.
"Ah! I fell asleep" he said between trying to catch his breath. "Sorry" he rubbed the back of his head, and I shook my head.
"I'm sorry, all this time that you've been ignoring me." I took his hand and gestured him to walk towards the bench.
"I know it's my fault, I shouldn't have bee-" he stopped and made me look at him.
"It's not your fault" the earlier smile on his face faded and his expression became stern.
"It's not my fault." he continued
"It's neither of ours. It's the circumstances and the misunderstandings making us drift apart from each other." He took a deep breath and moved closer towards me.
"I know it hasn't been much long, not much longer than 2 months since you got here but," he pauses and licks his lips, slightly biting the edge of them, signs that he was tense about something.
"I think I'm in love" he looked me deep in the eye "with you" He then looked down, maybe because he thought the feeling might not be mutual. He has no idea how crazy his tiniest actions drive me, my heart is pounding against my chest, the sound of it growing louder by the second, I'm wondering if it's loud enough for him to hear.
I gulp, I shake my head, almost as if trying to convince myself this isn't a dream, a fantasy I desire. It's happening in real-time. He said it, he did. Those words, they mean the whole world to me, there are no words that compares to those. There's a reason they're called or known as the three magical words.
"Say it again." I finally speak
He blinks his eyes, but then smiles.
"I love you. I love YOU, Hikari." He places his hand on my face and I melt into it, the comfort it provides me is undeniable. The value those words hold is immeasurable. These feelings can't be compared.
I took my hand at lifted his head up
"You know what?" he shook his head like a puppy.
"I'm in love with you too, Tae." he stood there shook, with his eyes opened wide, his mouth agape with incredulity. His reaction was almost as though he didn't expect me to say it back.
He then picked me up and spun me round and then put me down to kiss me.
When he kisses me, the world stops, it stops revolving, for the moment its as if there's no existence of anything else than us. It's unreal, it's celestial, it's everything. He hands support my waist, his lips move against mine, and we know we're smiling still. The happiness we both experience can't be held back, not now, not ever. That one tiny doubt, which seemed to held us both back is now invisible, non-existent.
Being in love with someone is not a joke, it's a serious process. It's when you know you've found the person you've been searching for years of your life.
It's him.
For him, it's me.
It's us.
We stopped to catch our breath and we're giggling, the echoes of our voices and only ours all around us, in this serene park. He looks at me and I've never seen him any happier than I see him right now.
"I love you so much, words can't measure." he held my hand and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. A kiss on the forehead is so much better than anywhere else, it's reassuring, it's kind, it's pure love.
We walked hand-in-hand towards the bench and sat there peacefully, close to each other, not leaving much space between us.
I, then, grabbed the bag from beside me and put it in front of him.
"Here, this is for you" He looked at the bag and then at me, and then opened the bag to find a box in it. He opened it to find two bracelets within it, one with the initial of my first name and one with his.
"These are for us?" I nodded my head in response.
"I wanted to give to you at the fansign but I forgot to and then when I thought I should give it to you and turned around, I ended up hurting my ankle in the process." He turned his mouth in an "O" shape, realizing and comprehending what had actually happened that day. Had he only known back then.
"I'm sorry that I didn't came to check up on you" he shrugged and held my hand.
He then took out one of the bracelets and made me wear it, and I put the other one on his wrist, I smiled and gleamed, he then kissed me on the cheek. I've now I had constant butterflies in my tummy for hours.
"Promise me something Hikari" I stop smiling and I look at him, he isn't either.
