Pregnant

Sarah opened the bathroom door. Her face was bloodlessly pale and her gaze was sluggish. Katty ran over to her, put her arm around her shoulders and asked, "Are you okay? I'm taking you to the hospital."

"No. I'm fine. Just tired. I'll be fine after a little rest." Sarah declined Katty's invitation.

As Ralfs approached them, their footsteps slowed to a halt as they stared at Ralfs in confusion. The man told Katty to go back to class and that he would take Sarah to the hospital. Again and again, Sarah refused Ralfs' good intentions. Sarah put on a smile and pretended not to worry anyone. In fact, Ralfs was not worried about her, but wanted to confirm whether she was pregnant or just sick.

"I'm fine." Sarah smiled.

Sarah continued walking with Katty. Ralfs grabbed her hand and stopped her footsteps. Ralfs played with Katty's eyes, telling her to go back to class and leave them alone. Ralfs' attitude made Katty feel strange, but she had to follow her teacher's orders. Katty let go of his hug and walked away.

Ralfs gripped Sarah's wrist tightly, invited her to leave the campus, and walked to the car parked in the lot. Ralfs drove the car at a fast pace until it wasn't long before he reached the hospital.

"You don't have to take me to the hospital. I'm fine," Sarah said.

Ralfs unbuckled his seat belt and opened the car door. He got out of the car, opened the door for Sarah and pulled her out of the car. Sarah still felt the pain of his grip because she thought Ralfs was still angry about what happened two weeks ago.

"Sir, you're hurting me. My hand hurts," Sarah complained in pain as they walked into the hospital.

Ralfs stopped and looked back at her, giving her a cold look of stored anger.

"Pain? You haven't felt how painful it is," Ralfs replied angrily.

Ralfs continued walking. They went to the hospital reception desk to inquire about the location of the obstetrician's room in the hospital. Ralfs ordered them to make an appointment with the obstetrician as soon as possible, so as not to wait too long.

"Sir. I'm not pregnant. Why did you bring me here?" whispered Sarah.

Ralfs blinked in disgust when he heard Sarah speak. He led her to the waiting bench outside the gynecologist's office without answering anything Sarah said.

Soon they were called in. Ralfs had the shoulder-length blonde doctor examine Sarah's condition. The doctor was puzzled by Ralfs' cold attitude toward Sarah.

"Are you her husband?" the doctor asked.

"Just check. If she is pregnant, please abort her," Ralfs said.

Sarah glanced at Ralfs in surprise, she didn't expect him to say that.

The doctor was speechless, shocked as well. The doctor looked over at Sarah and saw her worried face.

The doctor helped Sarah lie down on the bed and checked her condition. Meanwhile, Ralfs stood in the corner with his arms crossed over his chest, watching her impatiently.

Sarah's eyes locked with the doctor's and they were silent for a moment. The doctor nodded lightly at Sarah's head.

"She's just tired and not eating well. I'll prescribe some medicine," the doctor said as she approached her desk.

"I told you, I'm not pregnant," Sarah said.

The doctor gave Sarah the prescription.

"Thank you, Doctor," Sarah said with a smile.

Ralfs left the room.

"Your pregnancy is still in its early stages. Take good care of it," the doctor said in a quiet voice.

"Yes. Thank you."

The day before, Sarah had taken a pregnancy test, and the result was positive. Knowing that Ralfs did not want her child, Sarah tried to hide her pregnancy. The doctor who examined her understood what was going through Sarah's mind, and that's why she lied to Ralfs.

Sarah walked after Ralfs, who was in front of her. Her eyes stared at Ralfs' back and she felt guilty for lying to her. On the other hand, she did not want Ralfs to make the child she was carrying disappear. She wanted the child to be born.

On the way, Ralfs was silent, walking with both hands clasped in anger.

"Are you afraid that I am pregnant with your child?" Sarah asked.

Ralfs stopped walking. Sarah's forehead hit his back. Sarah stepped back and made a slightly frightened face. She lowered her head and occasionally looked at Ralfs with a smile to break the tense atmosphere.

Ralfs continued walking, ignoring Sarah. They returned to the car and the campus, as the class was not yet over.

"What is your relationship with these wolves?" Ralfs asked curiously.

"They are my family. Ms. Emma found me in the river and took care of me until I was 15 years old, until I ended up living with humans for the last five years. Still, I come to the Tenebris Forest every now and then to make sure that all the wolves are away from the hunters. But there are also many wolves that I can't save," Sarah explained.

"Do you know Luna?" asked Ralfs coldly.

"Luna?" Sarah rolled her eyes and looked away from Ralfs.

Sarah knew the story of Luna from Emma. She knew that the woman was Ralfs' lover who had betrayed him.

"Do you know anything about her reach? Or are you ...." Ralfs stopped talking after he saw a man standing not far from where his car was, trying to stop the car from moving.

Ralfs' foot slammed on the brake and the car stopped right in front of the man. Ralf's and Sarah's bodies were pushed forward by the action. The man walked up to the car at Sarah's side, smiled at her, and pinched her gently with his hand.

"I've been looking for you for a long time. Thank you, Wolf King. You led me to her." The man spoke in a round, eerie-sounding voice.

The man's eyes stared at Sarah's belly, as if he knew the state of her pregnancy.

Ralfs slapped the man's hand away.

"Don't ever touch her, Luke," Ralfs said angrily.

"Oh... I forgot she was your wife. You can take her, but the child in her womb is mine, Alpha Wolf," the tall, tanned man replied.

"You mean I don't recognize you." Sarah was confused.
