He had been shocked by the strength of his emotion when he saw Tyler at the warehouse. He had organized a big team, with uniformed men as well as his own detectives, to comb the area and try to capture the man…animal…thing…they had hoped was still in the area after what the more sensational newspapers were calling ‘The Brickyard Murders’ the previous week. He had snipers ready to move in and his own officers had their firearms. Sedman’s team picked the thing up on one of the small roads running down past the music hall on Cable Street and as it seemed to be moving with a purpose toward the sparsely-inhabited dockside areas they had allowed it to continue away from the busier parts of town. When it got to the doorway of the warehouse they had seen the shadow of a person inside the doorway—the man, Tally Rollins, he thought—and he made the decision to attempt a capture.
