"It's just Luck; Pure Luck!"-(I)

As the Khitan cavalry rode over the  shallow and muddy San-li, they only found the Jins running back on their horses with raised instigating banners in pairs-

And those banners, had such eggy words which even can instigate the toughest of monks.

(Author still wonders what cunning words that banner had.)

Being heavily instigated of the situation, the khitan cavalry continued their charge- without waiting for the reserve troops to cross the river; For as they confidently thought, a handful of jurchens* are no way a threat to their scary and reknowned cavalry vanguard.

But, little they knew- they are just going to do the biggest mistake of their lives by this over- confident descision.

They pursued the small group of Jin horsemen, which soon dropped the banners and started firing their crossbows- causing more and more instigation in the ranks of the frustrated and pursuing khitan soldiers.

The pursuit was harsh and, to be very honest- uncohesively miscalculated to the extent of many parts of the Cavalry line breaking out at the brink of the woody and tough terrain to the south of the San-li.

Afterall- This cavalry charge was only meant to reach the archers standing at the Opposite river side which were showering arrows in the Camp. But, as the pursuit continued with more and more loss of control and elevation of confusion among the troops deep inside the southern woods, it was a havoc for the khitan cavalry- which deliberately needed to regroup and rejoin.

But, because the cohesion was broken- the only orders that was known for the individual khitan soldier was to attack those Jurchen horsearchers.

Loosing control over the bulk of the pursuing troops, Cheif Liu deliberately tried to stop the troops brandishing deep into the Jurchen territory- but, that was really late till then.

Finding his reargaurd troops stopped by his orders, he immediately ordered a tactical retreat- his senses having smelled something brewing in the Jurchen territory. But suddenly-

[CLIP-CLOP] [CLIP-CLOP]

From the dense and misty east forests- the sounds of horses and Jin war cries damped the tactical retreat, and a deep spur of Jin Black knights scalded into the Khitan lines, cutting their retreat with their interchained cavalry charge.*

"We are AMBUSHED!!"

The Khitan camp chief shouted out.

But, he was again late to realize.

His cavalry unit was now tore apart from his main unit. His raiders were in a terrain they don't know much about, and his line of retreat was cut off.

This was the masterpiece of strategy, what RSK had just made real. He knew well about the Mongol tactic of 'Feigned retreat' and that's what he used at a modified scale. And the enemy- even having larger army and manpower was immediately left at a loss of advantages and options.

.

.

RSK, in the body of Yun, was seeing and predicting all these from the top of a small hill on the Eastern forests.

Evil or Cunning, Coward or Brave, Fool or Intelligent- all was same in his case. The whole thing happened exactly as he had predicted earlier.

"Lord! That Liu is in trouble now!"

Daifu exclaimed, looking at the damp moraled Khitan cavalry getting tore apart from the slow moving Khitan Infantry.

"Fine, Now send the signal to Zhang's unit and take that Liu with surprise. This might stop this battle before it becomes a bloodbath."

-Yun remarked with a serious look on his face.

.

.

A jittering sparkle of fireworks shoved up in the east sky, accompanied by the sound of crackle it radiated as it kept moving up.

In the next moment, a soaring wave of water invaded the San-li, making the Khitan infantry to limp upon the waters to reach the directed battlefield.

As it happened, another unit of Black knights led by Zhang poured into the scarred khitan cavalry from the South, taking the enemy again, on surprise.

Cheif Liu, was under huge pressure from the three sides, taking casualties as he took time to react on.

Taking some desperate measures, finding the way westwards open and clear of enemies he ordered his beaten-up cavalry to regroup towards there before it gets to the extent of annihilation.

As his army started withdrawing towards west, a bulk of his reargaurd became trapped in the rush and were captured.

But, with the Khitan infantry joining the fight from the north, Zhang ordered his Black knights to retreat again to the forests, this time in South.

And this time again- being leaderless, the Six thousand Khitan infantry saw the mere number of three to four hundered black knights retreating, and pursued them recklessly again to the south.

Meanwhile, as Zhang's black knights retreated in full speed- the command position at which Yun was, was now cut off to an extent from the battleline; still, Yun being confirmed of the hill's position where he was, denied to retreat back- making quite of an unexpected situation for Zhang and well, something same for the Khitan army too.

RSK, and his this aggresive approach to the situation was truly a result of the circumstances he was thrown into. He still didn't had a direct hand in the battlefield, but he was directing every move done by every Jin soldier that day.

But,what really totally changed him in one night from an absolute coward to seemingly a brave person in some hours?

-No one actually knows exactly.

"Daifu!"

"Yes Lord?"

"Ask the Wuyang's Liuentenent to bring a platoon from the southern Zhong-jing-yang gates and secretly meet us here."

Yun ordered Daifu to send the Wuyang City Garrison a message, while he fiddled with the viewing telescope-like thing that seemed to be totally cool with it's ultimate design.

Having heard Yun's order, Daifu nodded and left.

'He is changed.'- he walked out thinking about the sudden strange and mysteriously toppled behavior of his master all these days.

He was no longer a person he was earlier. It was far more than to believe a General would deny to fight in the battlefield just because he doesn't has a military seal!

'Oh! That's ridiculous!'- Dai Fu muttered in emphasis as he went past the small group of soldiers gaurding Yun's camp.

Next chapter on the mark!
