285: Maybe Next.......

"I thought we were supposed to go early so that we can get to the party before it starts? Why are we still mopping around? And why are you looking at each other,?"

Daniella was standing at the door watching her three kids on the table not talking just focused on the blank screen that was not showing anything. Davids was nowhere to be seen. None of them was talking except for Zeke who was busy on her book with a pencil in his hands trying to scribble something down.

"Zeke didn't finish his assignment, we have to wait on him to finish before we go out. Plus dad has said we are not cooperating and that's why we can't do our work together. Mum, I was just asking, should we remind him every day to focus on his study?"

Noelle was busy looking at her mother with puppy eyes. Every time she wants attention, she would do that. Daniella huffed and looked at both of them. Zeke was now shedding tears down his eyes while having a running nose. 

"Yeah, both of you should be reminding each other on what to do. Maybe he forgot about it. Nimo, it's your responsibility to make sure that everyone finished their homes work, and so are Zeke and Rose. You should always remind each other. Don't let one of you fail."

Rose and Nimo looked down on the floor. They didn't know what was happening and why they were being blamed for Zeke's laziness. Though they have always been told to make sure that they finish their work in time today was not that day. 

Daniella left them and went to the bedroom, she was busy doing some yoga in the gym and didn't want to disturb Davids who was busy on a phone call with some people.

She found her in the wardrobe picking clothes to wear, her hair was all a mess and they were blocking her face. This made it hard for Daniella to see her expression. 

              "Hey babes, is everything okay?"

Daniella moved to her and started looking in the wardrobe for something for her to put on.

"Zeke is not done with his daily reading and I don't know what's happening to him. Do you think I pushed him too hard?"

Daniella sighed and looked at her. She was very sure, Davids has probably screamed at him the way she is used to directing orders east-west, north and south. Maybe that happened and now Zeke is worried about it. Picking a collar, and white polo t-shirt for her, she placed it on the dresser with khaki shorts. Plus her boxers.

"Maybe you should go and say you are sorry. They are still kids but you are hard on them. They always finish five books in a week. Write down some small reports which I help read and you give them spell check which they must do. It's hard on them though they try their best and finish it. Maybe Zeke has a problem, please understand him, he might be going through something and he is not talking about it. Lately, it has been me and you all together without the kids much, maybe you go there and see what's happening."

"That's why I love you, I will wear this and make sure I talk to them, thanks. Get some water on your body and don't wear too much revealing, you know I love seeing those on my own."

She winked at Daniella and placed a peck on her cheeks. After putting on her clothes, Davids left the room and walked to the kids, they were all gathered together. 

"I am sorry maybe I was not there for you and remind you, I know I always remind you to finish, sorry I didn't remind you this time around."

Nimo was acting like the good sister to Zeke, while Rose was patting Zele's shoulder. 

"Hello guys, how are you doing?"

"Dad, we are sorry that we didn't make sure Zeke was done with his homework we promise it won't happen again."

Rose was the first to apologise followed by Nimo who promised to help Zeke every day in his assignment.

Zeke walked to Davids, tears dry on his cheeks. Davids felt her chest fingers and opened her arms for him to walk in.

"I am sorry papa, I have been having a hard time, Adrian is not talking to me and when I want to talk to him he is avoiding me completely. I didn't do anything wrong to him, we were good friends, I am sorry."

Zeke was now crying on his father's chest. Davids rubbed his hair gently until he was done. 

"I am sorry I shouted at you, I didn't ask what was happening to you. Please, next time anything is happening, tell me okay? Today we are going there, make sure you ask him or talk and get why he is not talking back to you, okay?"

Davids didn't want to get into the kids' issue as they are always kids. As long as no one was being bullied, everything was okay. 

Daniella walked out with an orange sundress with flowers and some platforms, a small section of her cleavage was being seen and Davids raised her eyebrows at her making the kids chuckle at them.

           "What's wrong babe?"

She placed a peck on her mouth and the kids closed their eyes with their hands. 

            "Eeww"

"I thought I said no revealing? Your cleavage is popping and I don't want to show the kids that we are doing bad manners or will you be comfortable with them saying that daddy and mom were doing bad manners?"

Daniella lifted her eyebrow and smacked Davids on the head making the locks fall back altogether. 

          "Wow, they are very long?"

The kids have never seen her hair all down and they were excited. They went ahead and started touching it. 

       "Okay, stop touching it, it's not yours to touch!"

Danielle hit the kids' hands from them and started collecting them together to make a messy bun. Davids was the one who tied them first and now they were all down.

           "Dad, can I make those?"

Nimo was the first to ask and Davids went ahead to shake her head, she knows very well Daniella will never allow that to happen even for once in her life.

     "Maybe when you can make your own decisions baby, okay?"

The other kids knitted their eyebrows together while looking at their father. 

"Okay, stop giving me the look, can we all go into the elevator and stop this drama, plus have you all carried your presents?"

The kids nodded and showed their presents. For Daniella, she had the Red Mandella 1976 wine with her, for Davids, just a wallet and a phone in her hands. Nothing to appease the eyes of the guests.

          "Dad, why are you not taking a present?"

"I will punch him in the face first before I give him a present. Plus he is not my friend."

         "Babe, what the hell, can you be nicer for once?"

David's smiled and looked at the ceiling while they were in the elevator. They were ushered into the car with Zainab. They had the tactic team ahead before they got into the other car and headed out. 

      "We should ride in the big vehicle some days, I love it."

Zeke suggested and everyone nodded while looking at their father who was surprised as to why they were looking at her instead of just doing what they wanted. 

"They are giving that eye so that you can give them a ride in it."

Davids looked at Daniella and shook her head to mean, no, the vehicle was dangerous and had some high tyres that made the vehicle bounce.

"Ashley is coming to visit you know, plus Mrs Smith said 'hi' maybe you should call her, she is furious and she is saying, you owe her something."

Davids scratched her head and looked at Kids while holding her cheeks.  She didn't know why Mrs smith was mad at her but she thought she has a vague idea of why she was at her. 

          "How old is Ashley?"

"Seventeen! Do you know she jumped two classes and is in uni?"

"Wow, really, she was brilliant, maybe you guys can also jump some classes, I mean why do you have to go through some basic nursery rub me, maybe we can make you guys jump grades two and three, what do you think?"

"What? I want it to learn about the invasion of Romans in Britain!"

Rose protested while looking at Davids who had to hold her head after the shouting had started. She knew this was the wrong time to start this discussion and it was not making sense. 

"They will miss their friends but it's good, I don't see the need, they can as well just jump the classes and move ahead. We can ask The Templetones they might be doing that too."

Davids nodded to Daniella's idea while looking at the kid who was still arguing about classes. One of them was busy arguing why it's important to learn history while the other one was arguing how they will miss important things in the science part. 

"Just shut up you three, jeez it's school and its history, you can as well learn bloody Mary and prince Bonnie Charlie on youtube, it's not a must!"

Everyone was quiet after that shouting from Daniella. Davids looked at her and raised her brows at the kids who were also quiet.

"Good, now let's walk out of this place like the Blacks you are and behave like the good kids you are, I don't want drama today."

Everyone walked out of the vehicle slowly with their presents. 

           "Are you okay?"

David's had to ask before moving forward.

"They are noisy, I almost broke this bottle but, no, maybe next time you can use that voice on them, they won't talk again."

"No, maybe next time I will just call you and ask you to do that, my voice is limited baby."
