HER CONDITION

"What do you think of her?"

To his question, Xue Lin replied, "Normal."

Lucas: "…"

Mateo couldn't help but say, "Normal? In what way does she look normal to you?"

Xue Lin calmly stated, "Then, define normal."

"The way we act is normal." Mateo pointed out, "The way she acts is abnormal."

Xue Lin could guess his answer before he replied, and she didn't look surprised when she heard his response.

She explained, "The way we act is because of the environment we are surrounded by everyday. She acts differently than we do because she didn't grow up in the environment we grew up in and lived.

"She is a curious girl. She is kind and warm. Very agreeable with the people she likes to hang out with. And also, social. "

"At first, she was wary of me. When she realized that we have something in common, she got close to me in no time.

"I can only assume that she loves to have a companion but she didn't grow up in a friendly environment. That's why she was so hesitant and shy to talk to you all."

"In my perspective, she is a sweet, innocent girl; just like a newborn child. However, this is just the positive side. I haven't seen her negative side. So, I need more time with her."

"If she is in an unfriendly environment, she will show her negative side."

When she paused, Lucas had an idea.

"Shall we arrange that?" he asked.

Xue Lin shook her head. She didn't approve of the idea.

"That won't be a good idea for the current moment. You want to nurture her. That's why you called for me.

"My advice is that you talk to her, encourage her to stay with you while you eat, watch movies and enjoy your time. Try to interact with her and ask her questions so that she answers.

"If she is too shy, with care tell her how to answer. Be patient, gentle and kind with her. With her personality, she will soon open up to you.

"And try not to break the trust she builds. It'll be hard to gain her trust but the trust can be broken within a second. So, be truthful. Try not to get on her bad side."

"However, if she does something wrong, you need to remind her that she cannot do it. Something like – taking someone's things without asking first or breaking something."

"Don't give her everything she wants. Sometimes show restraint. Let her understand why she can't have whatever she wants."

"Take her outside. A lot. As long as she interacts with outsiders a lot, she will learn faster. And of course, I will be there for her. So, there is nothing to worry about."

After she was done, there was a heavy silence in the room.

Mateo was the first to break the silence.

He said, "So, it's like we got a huge baby girl and now we have to take care of it."

Xue Lin nodded. "That's exactly how it is."

"Oh thank goodness that I don't have to change anyone's diapers." Mateo made a cross on his chest.

Xue Lin raised an eyebrow. "I know what you are thinking but I already taught her how to use the toilet. In the future, you don't have to worry about it."

"You know she changed her clothes in front of us, in the morning, at the hospital," Lucas mentioned.

Mateo looked at him with his eyes as big as a flying saucer. He was shocked.

"She did that?!"

"We had to turn around in case we saw something forbidden," Lucas added.

"I'm sure you would have looked at her if Alex wasn't there," Mateo remarked.

Lucas looked at him. "Am I that obvious?"

Mateo was speechless.

Alex didn't pay attention to Lucas's nonsense. He said, "I will do my very best to treat her with care."

"It would be better if you could put that much care into your company. We are all looking up to you," Mateo muttered.

"I'll take care of both. I don't have anything else to do. It will be fine." Alex did his best to ease his friend.

"If you do that, she will become like us very soon. I have high hopes for her," Xue Lin said.

She continued, "Since she is sleeping, I don't have anything else to do now. Can you give me her file? I'll go back to my apartment and check her profile."

Alex said in return, "I will send you her medical report. We still need some time to figure out who she is and where she came from. When we find out, you will know."

"Okay. Let me know when she wakes up."

After that, Xue Lin and Ge Chen left.

"So…" Lucas looked at his friends. "She is a psychiatrist. I still can't believe it."

"Don't judge a book by its cover," Mateo lectured him.

He looked at Alex and asked, "Will you really raise her just as you promised?"

"I always keep my word," Alex muttered. His sharp eyes had a kind of tranquil feeling in them.

"Whatever you do, don't bring trouble. Figure out who she is and kick her out as soon as possible."

After speaking his mind, Mateo went to the garden.

In the evening, Alex went to Sakura's room to wake her up.

He turned on the light and the room immediately lit up.

Afterward, he marched forward and gently stroked her head.

"Sakura, wake up. You have slept enough. Have dinner with us if you want to sleep again."

Sakura heard his voice. She didn't want to wake up.

She frowned and pursed her lips.

Alex noticed her behavior. He chuckled in a low voice and then picked her nose.

Unable to breathe, Sakura opened her eyes and sat up.

She couldn't get mad at him. So, she lowered her head and didn't look at him.

"Are you upset?" Alex asked her.

She nodded without replying.

He inquired, "Are you mad at me?"

She shook her head.

Alex smiled discreetly. "If you are not mad at me, then you will have to speak to me. All right?"

When she didn't say anything, he added, "If you don't look at me and talk to me, I will think that you don't like me. I will be sad."

When Sakura heard that, she slowly raised her head. The pair of glass blue eyes locked with his pair of forest green eyes.

Her pink lips parted and she uttered softly with a hoarse voice, "I'm not mad… at you… I like you."
