The Dinner
[Portia's POV]
The creaking sound of opened door squired me when I tiptoed to the room. I manage to make a quiet entry, but as soon as I see a personal figure leaning on the wall beside the entrance door, I scream in surprise.
"Waaaaaa!" After blinking for a moment, then I realize it is Ezekiel. I heave a sigh when I approach him with a relieved expression.
"Kiel, why you stand alone here like that? You surprised me!" I put both hands on the waist as I scold him. No, no, I do not mean I scold him for real. I just want to play with him a little since I was tired from dealing with two irritating siblings a couple minutes ago. But Kiel's reaction is strange. He glances at me with a keen expression, making me feel a sudden chill. He is mad, isn't he?
"W-what's wrong, Kiel?"
"You said you'd come back soon."
"Hm?" I blink as I try to process his words for a while before realizing their true meaning.
