Edith

"Edith I would like to know more about the world you came from. From what I understand all species come from different worlds with differing levels of magic and technology. I want to hear about such things in person and from another Lord like myself."

"Oh well if you must know I lived in a large city with tall buildings all around where both my parents were nobles owning several places. Let's see what else... The kingdom of Larence was a nation in the world known as Guiere... well that is all the important things, how about you?"

"I lived on a world known as Earth. The world was technologically advanced with most of the world's inhabitants being able to connect with one another besides the language barrier. My family all lived in a small town where everyone knew each other's names."

"What kind of magic did you use to communicate?!"

"I lived in a world without magic and Humans being the most intelligent species. For that type of communication and everything else technological, we used a type of energy called electricity, which you know by seeing lightning."

"Wait you speak as if there were other intelligent species that you can't understand?"

"There are a few species that have their own language, but we can't understand them, like Orcas, Dolphins, and Corvins. These species are intelligent and all, but can't use tools as efficiently as Humans. In fact, they are so unlike us that most Humans didn't understand that the species were another race and civilization that we could have communicated with."

Edith looked at Allen with nothing but pure surprise at all the information he had just given away. "Wait how could you treat your fellow humanoids like that?!"

"They weren't humanoids. And you have the word humanoids too?"

"Wait do you not know of the story of how Humans got their name?"

"Didn't we name ourselves?"

Edith couldn't believe her ears as her jaw had dropped so low it looked like one could fit an egg through it. "Well as the story goes, there was the word humanoid to signify the forms many races had. After Humans came into being they seemed to be weak and had nothing special besides having the humanoid form. So many races just called them the humanoid race for a long time before it got shortened to Humans after a while."

Allen, despite being shocked at the new information soon realized something even more important, "You speak of other races as if you lived with many, so please tell me more about the races you know."

"Oh- sure, I knew of a few dragon races like their subspecies races, Draconic Tiger, Draconic Eagle, and the like. Also a few of their Subgenos like Wind Dragons, Water Dragons, and the like, but those Subgenos are a few and very rare. They were all under the main dragon that was the most powerful in the world, a family of Golden Dragons.

The Beastman race was so plentiful that they numbered the same as humans if all put together. Honestly, I would rather not go on much longer about them since you wouldn't be able to learn anything about them in a short time.

The most famous races were the Demons and Angels who were often fighting whenever one another appeared. I don't really know much about them besides the few tales about how powerful each race was.

The only other races I heard about was the supposed sole Titan of the world that no one seemed to know the exact location of, and the small amount of Fae races that were hiding with the Titan. Of course, this was all hearsay and no one knew if it had any truth to the matter."

Allen stayed there for a long time stunned at the information dump he received. After nearly a minute, Allen woke up from his stupor and looked at Edith who was also pondering everything he had spoken about.

"Edith, thank you for your time. I will show you to a room you can stay in for the night. In the morning you can directly leave in peace."

Edith didn't fight and simply followed Allen to a room of the house that didn't have anything. After saying goodnight Allen called Orion and Henry back to the temporary meeting room to make a plan regarding Edith.

"So, Orion hearing what she said what do you think of her?"

"Lord, I believe she was most definitely a Fox Beastman before coming here and not a human changed. She gave much information as if she had seen the races she spoke about. Most Humans even Human nobles don't have such detailed information. She might have been a noble in her Beastman nation."

Nodding Allen agreed with Orion, "So now we just need to know if she lied to make better friends of us or just wanted to trick us." Allen then proceeded to tell Henry about what they had talked about in detail before asking him the same.

"Lord, I agree with Orion's evaluation, but I believe we should kill her before any more trouble comes of it."

"I believe we should wait until we hear if she enters the storage. If she does, well then we attack, but if she only sleeps we will let her leave. Either way, get a small few people to stand guard to notice if she is on the move. Tell Derek to report to me in the morning with his extra man at the side."

""Yes Lord!""

Both men bowed and left the room leaving Allen alone with three wolves that appeared to take up the position as his guards.

Looking at the wolves for a while Allen waved off two of the wolves leaving the wolf he had ridden throughout the day.

"You know what you will both be my pillow for now and my mount... I will call you... something... maybe Orgin? No someone with that name needs to be more powerful... Cerberus? No, having more than one head would be better... So Fenrir? No how about something more original... Olmos... Yeah, why not?

From this point forward your name shall be Olmos! My first mount and loyal companion!"

Olmos howled loudly with great happiness and started running around the room excitedly.

"Alright! Alright! Calm down!" Allen quickly tried to calm the overly happy wolf that was nearly pushing him down as it nuzzled into his chest.

Quickly the camp's noise began to die down as everyone started to go to sleep getting ready for the next day. Most Humans teamed up with wolves to get a nice warm blanket. A few wolves refused to stay with them and stayed together, but other wolves had one or two humans hugging them as they yawned and slowly fell asleep.

Edith was left alone in a cold room without anything to stay warm. Luckily it was slowly warming up as the whole house was filled with wolves and humans who were all letting off heat. Still, she stayed inside the room for the next three hours until she couldn't hear any more noises. Even the insects were scared away by the house and weren't even close enough to add background noise.

It was also at this point that her door slowly opened as she walked out. There, a single human guard lay down in the hall with a Tree Wolf lying with him. The pair quickly met eyes.

"I need to go to answer nature's call."

The guard had been told just to keep track of her entry and exits without bothering her, so he only nodded at her and kept lying there not even standing up.

Edith smiled and left the house with another guard and Tree Wolf at the door just inside. Giving him the same excuse Edith got another nod as she left the building. As if Allen was a fortune teller, Edith went directly to the Warehouse without any detours.

Walking inside Edith quickly spotted Derek and the Tree Wolf. As she saw them Derek got ready to attack hoping to kill her like the Lord had ordered he would do in the morning if she entered here.

Edith on the other hand showed a seductive smile as her voice came out as ethereal, "Now now, stay..." Derek stopped as if frozen in place, "Go back to your post. You never saw me and nothing I do before sunrise will be seen by you. Like that cute doggy that stayed put even as you ran to me."

Edith's features quickly changed as well with all her fur turning from that red-orange color to a beautiful silver color. "You know it was so annoying to use such ugly colors? Too bad the color change was meaningless as no one even seemed to know any fox races. I bet no one even knows what an Illusion Fox even is. Bunch of bumkins...

Sigh- Well, I guess it doesn't matter since your Lord was so stupidly trusting of me after I said I used to be Human. Fufufu~ I guess I shouldn't expect much from such a lowly race that doesn't even know of my noble bloodline.

Now let us see~ What do you have stashed here? Rocks, metal, wood, and nothing else? What a waste of time... I guess it might be fun to build my base directly inside the idiot's base and use his resources as I like... Oh- there seems to be one thing that might be of use.

A bag with a weird metal book? What use is this thing even? Open it and glass? Why is one page a glass screen and the other full of buttons with weird symbols? Is it only the cover? No, it probably is some device of that technology that runs on lightning. I wonder how it is used? Well maybe after tomorrow I will force that lord under my control and rap him between my fingers! Yes! I am so excited!"

Edith didn't look back and simply put everything back not really caring what it could be used for. While leaving she once again gave Derek a seductive smile, "Remember doggy, I wasn't here and you saw an empty Warehouse for the entire day."

Smiling Edith left and went back inside the house after changing her fur back to the red-orange color.
