Second Simulation

This time, he thought of following the wild Beyonder route before pressing the [Simulate] button.

[Simulation starting...]

[You have just awakened your past life's memories and realized that you have transmigrated into the Lord of the Mysteries.]

[You decide to become a Beyonder.]

[Through your knowledge of the book, you know the location of two secret Beyonder gatherings.]

[3 days later, you take part in Isengard Stanton's gathering.]

[With the inheritance left by your parents, you don't have to worry about spending money.]

[You manage to get the Lawyer potion formula.]

[A lady tried to sell some Beyonder items, you feel that you lack self protection and decide to buy one.]

[You guess that the item you bought is made by a Sequence 9 Monster characteristic, since it allows you to see glimpses of the future and makes you more sensitive to danger.]

[Happy with your purchases, you leave safely.]

[A week later, it is time for Mr. A's Beyonder gathering.]

[Armed with your new extraordinary item, you try to buy the ingredients of the Lawyer potion.]

[Although you didn't find all the ingredients, you are half way there.]

[For the next week and a half, you frequent the two Beyonder gatherings, before finally managing to get all the ingredients you need.]

[Just as you left Mr. A's gathering, a member of MI9 stopped you and invited you to join.]

[You, not having any other choice, decide to lie and pretend to agree.]

[Seeing through your disguise, the enemy casts Psychic Piercing, killing you.]

[Simulation ends...]

[Choose one of the following options:]

[1. Potion formula of Sequence 9 Lawyer. Cost: 50 FP]

[2. Extraordinary item made out of Sequence 9 Monster characteristics. Cost: 70 FP]

[3. All the ingredients of the Sequence 9 Lawyer potion. Cost: 90 FP]

"In the first simulation, 'I' had no problems with joining MI9 since I had already chosen to become a Beyonder in the fastest way possible."

"This time 'I' was thinking of following the wild Beyonder route and was focused on it."

"Moreover, the enemy is at least a Sequence 7 Interrogator, there is no way he doesn't see through my lies."

"It seems that my thinking during the simulation isn't flexible enough."

"'I' only act according to my thoughts at the start of the simulation.", Alexander analyzed.

Looking at the options that he could choose from, Alexander confirmed his conjecture.

"It seems that my guess is true, the simulator can also give me the ingredients needed for potions."

Having said that Alexander looked at the window and noticed that his remaining FP was 50.

Deciding to not pick anything until he found a way to gain FP, Alexander closed the simulator and started thinking about his situation.

"Although the simulator seems to be my 'cheat', in this world anything you gain has a price."

"It doesn't make sense for me to have memories of the plot if I'm the backup for a resurrection of a great being."

"For something like that to happen, it would need an existence at the level of the Original Creator at the very least."

"It's obviously not something that Old Days or even the 3 Pillars can do."

"If my opponent is at that level, there is no need for me to even think about fighting back.", thought Alexander self-deprecating.

Alexander knew that even Klein, who was supported by multiple gods, didn't win against the will of the Celestial Worthy of Heavens and it could only be considered a draw.

Finished with his thoughts, Alexander got up and left his room.

Although the inheritance left by his parents was considered huge, Alexander still prefered to be alone and had already fired most of the staff of his house.

Walking in the hallway, Alexander reached his father's office.

The office was a small room, with a bookcase against each of the walls, a wooden desk and a red chair.

The only decoration one could find was a portrait of what Alexander could identify as his dead mother.

Sitting down, Alexander picked up an aged notebook he found on the desk.

Reading the first page, Alexander found out that this should be his father's diary.

Some hours later, Alexander finished the diary and sighed with emotion.

The diary described his father's experiences throughout his life.

It recounted his experiences during his childhood, how he met Alexander's mother and how he managed to become successful.

Alexander learnt that his grandfather was a great lawyer, and when he died, his father invested everything he had in various fields before finally focusing on banks.

It could be said that he had lived an average boring wealthy life, but Alexander still felt felt emotional as that was his own father.

Putting down the notebook and walking towards the bookcase, Alexander seemed to be searching for something.

Although the diary didn't mention any extraordinary event, Alexander guessed that since his father was wealthy enough, he must have had some encounters with the extraordinary world.

Alexander spent some time rummaging through the books, before noticing a grey book awkwardly placed in the bookcase.

Putting it aside and looking behind it, what greeted him was a silver revolver with a golden handle.

Looking at its appearance, it wouldn't take a powerful Beyonder to realize that this should be an extraordinary item.

"It seems that the 'me' in the simulation didn't even search his own house for extraordinary items.", Alexander found another shortcoming of the simulations.

Picking up the silver revolver, just as he was admiring its appearance, a silver window popped up.

Seeing the [Sell] button, Alexander confirmed that he could trade this item in exchange for Fate points.

Realizing this fact, he guessed that trading extraordinary items and characteristics should be the main way for him to gain FP.

Nevertheless, he still had to decide whether it was worth it for him to sell the only extraordinary item he currently possessed.
