18 Chapter 018

"Have you packed everything?" asked Alvin, to the over excited girl infront of him.

"Yes I have. Shall we go now?" said Naomi excitedly.

It had been 5 days since Alvin had entered the Red Castle. They decided to take the week long vacation to Seven Rings Carnival, a famous travelling carnival. It travelled across the Kingdom of Loen, setting for a month in 8 locations. They had just settled near Hasling Town, in the Southville Country. Alvin decided to take Naomi and Chery on a vacation to the Seven Rings Carnival. It was not only a great location for casual entertainment, but it was also one of the largest gatherings of wild Beyonders. With luck, you could find almost anything if you could gain access to the Beyonder circles.

It was one of the largest markets in the world for Beyonders, and a lot of money, Beyonder ingredients, potion formulas, gold, etc flowed through here. It had channels from the sea, from the mountains, from other kingdoms, and the southern continent.

All of the secret organisations have channels here, both to acquire and to get rid of stuff. The organisers did a good job of protecting the common people who came to visit, and hence the official Beyonders rarely gave trouble to the carnival. Plus, the churches too had some channels in the carnival. The secret organisations did not want to compromise one of their best channels, hence they too strictly avoided causing any kind of trouble here. Even organisations like the Aurora Order and Life School of Thought, which were filled to the brim with lunatics, sent only lunatics who could control themselves here.

"Calm down. There are still 2 hours for the train to leave. We will leave after an hour" said Alvin, trying to calm down Naomi.

Alvin was close to 20 when the disaster to his family happened, and he was 21 now. Cheryl was a year younger than him, and Naomi was a year younger than Cheryl. Naomi had a great relationship with, Cheryl since she was young, and had presently grown quite attached to Alvin.

Naomi was learning medicine, preparing to be a doctor when the disaster happened. Alvin had arranged for her to join Balcklund Medical Univerity, a year ahead of her actual batch when they arrived in Backlund. She was going to graduate next year, and going to establish a clinic, as per her wishes. She was an intelligent and perceptive learner, and could easily adjust to the higher grade she was put in. Bit she still behaved like a child in front of Alvin and Cheryl. Alvin wanted to try and get her prompted to Sequence 8 Doctor of the Planter Pathway before she graduated.

Naomi was excited, both because she was finally getting away from the repetitive medical education and spending time with him and Cheryl, and also because Alvin had promised to let her drink the Planter potion if they managed to get the other main ingredient.

All their luggage were in packed in their bags. All of their extraordinary items except for the Red Castle Box and Coin of Wonders were inside the Red Castle. Since those two items naturally repelled divination and investigative methods, no one could tell they were Beyonders. All they had to do was enjoy their time as mortals in the many attractions of the carnival. At night, Alvin would sneak alone and try to get access to extraordinary circles.

Alvin had written to Gordon, stating that he had no problems and that he was going for a week long vacation to the Seven Rings Carnival. Soest wrote back to acknowledge, and also asked him to meet a person belonging to the Nighthawks in the carnival, and perform any missions if convenient. Alvin decided to take a look.

Alvin walked into the house, to see Naomi writing a letter.

"Who are you writing to?" he asked.

"Fors Wall. You asked me to contact her and stay in touch if possible remember? I wrote to her a few days ago, and received a reply yesterday. Now I am writing another letter to her" said Naomi.

"Good for you. You should try to have a good relationship with her. According to some sources, she may be related to the Abraham family, once a powerhouse that has declined. Having correspondence with her will benefit you a lot" said Alvin.

"She said she has finished a new book. And it would be released in a month or so. And she would hold a fan meet during its release. Maybe I can meet her there" said Naomi.

"Good idea. Maybe you can write about the trip to the Seven Rings Carnival, and the mysterious things there afterwards. She should be willing to maintain corresponded due to curiosity" said Alvin.

Naomi nodded. Alvin went to the bar one more time, to ensure that it would be running smoothly when he left. He asked Frank to forward all messages and requests that weren't urgent to one of his safehouses in the Southern Borough. He gave some more instructions and left.

"I'm done. Are you ready? Shall we go yet?" asked Naomi as soon as he reached home.

"I'll just change into more vacation worthy clothes. Then we can set off. It's pointless to go earlier though. The train ticket we booked leaves at Backlund at 10. It's still only 8 30. We have to wait at the train station if we go now anyway" said Alvin.

"We have to stop at the post office before we go. I have to mail a letter, and need to buy a few stamps" said Naomi as Alvin came out after dressing himself.

"Indeed. And I need some stamps too" said Alvin.

The three of them boarded a trackless carriage they hired, and went to the post office. They brought stamps and stuck them onto the sealed envelopes.

"Aren't you putting on too many stamps? The address you have written is in Backlund" asked Cheryl observing Alvin's actions.

"Oh I will not be mailing them from Backlund. I will mail them from a random train station in Southville County. That's where I told him I was in our previous correspondence to prevent exposure in case he didn't like me writing to him" explained Alvin.

"What did you write?" she asked.

"That I have become a Beyonder, and am coming to Backlund seeking opportunities and information" said Alvin. "I know you wonder if it's too soon. But we should get started sometime right? Might as well as be now" said Alvin.

He then looked down at the neatly folded letter in his hand, that was addressed to Viscount Glaint.
