Lord of the Celestial Throne

His fate was predetermined: fight, defend, and perish with the stars, a mere cog in the great machinery of creation. But something within him resisted this cruel fate. A seed of defiance sprouted in his heart, whispering of freedom. He sought a way to transcend the cosmic chains—to escape, to defy destiny, to seize freedom at any cost. As a mortal, he felt the agony of watching his loved ones wither and die, powerless to stop the decay of time. He wept for children, lovers, friends. As an emperor, he conquered kingdoms and wielded unimaginable power, only to be betrayed by those he trusted most, dragged from his throne, and executed in shame. As a beggar, he wandered the streets, starving and shivering under the cold gaze of uncaring gods. As a villain, he became the monster in stories told to frighten children—burning cities, drowning nations in blood, only to be hunted and killed by the heroes of those same tales. As a saint, he gave everything—his wealth, his strength, his life—to others, only to discover that gratitude was fleeting and the world did not remember the sacrifices of the righteous. But, Every failure, every death, every betrayal—they were nothing but steps on a long, infinite path. And the path had only one direction: up, through the layers of existence, through the fabric of reality itself. No prison could contain him. No curse could hold him. His heart whispered one thing to him, a truth carved into his soul:Move forward. Always forward. Because he was Li Shenrong—the Lord of the Celestial Throne.

Myriad Illusion.

Taixiu mountain.

After killing Li Shenrong and Wu Xia, the fox masked assassin regained a bit of his confidence.

He almost thought 'Am i so useless that I couldn't even kill a bone tempering realm cultivator?'

Bending down, he reached out to take the purple coloured token from Wu Xia's corpse. It had the 'WU' and Xia written on it, signifying her status in the Wu clan.

His hand was just an inch away from it but suddenly a strange feeling swept over him.

The world suddenly started spinning, freezing his body. The assassin felt a heavy load weighing over his mind. His vision turned blurry.

No it wasn't his vision that turned blurry but the world itself was rippling.

What's going on! Am i hallucinating? No that's not possible. Someone is playing tricks.

Damn it who is it?

With two hand placed on the ground and supporting his body from falling, he was half kneeling. The assassin moved his neck stiffly left and right to search for the person who was playing tricks.

He felt a gut wrenching pain inside his mind as if it was being gnawed by thousand worms.

"Arghh…" He groaned as his body hit the ground with a thud sound.

"Who is it…? Come ouut!" He endured the pain and shouted in a hoarse voice.

The pain inside his mind was unbearable which almost made him faint.

The assassin's eyes remained half opened as he lay on the ground.

He saw some changes in Wu Xia's headless body which was just within his hands reach.

Her blood that had dyed the ground red slowly started to flow back inside her body. Then her head got attached again with her neck.

Infront of his eyes her body faded away like smoke. This time, his vision blurred.

The assassin opened his eyes again and saw Li shenrong who had died was standing infront of him with a smile.

Wu Xia who he had killed, was now standing at the same spot where she had been before.

She was alive and kicking.

"Time reversal?" The assassin did not panic, he had his own fare share of knowledge. He gazed at Li Shenrong intently and asked.

"No, I don't need to use time reversal on someone of your level. It's an illusion technique called Myriad illusion. Everything you saw and had happened was an illusion i made you to see." Li Shenrong explained slowly.

The assassin was dumbfounded.

"How is that possible! Such strong illusion technique exists? I would have believed it if you were stronger than me.

Even if the technique is strong but how could it be so effective when my cultivation is higher than you?" The assassin asked with voice full of uncertainty.

At the moment Wu Xia herself was confused. Not only her, even all the spectators who were watching the show was flabbergasted.

Everyone had witnessed how Li Shenrong and Wu Xia was killed.

"Too strong illusion. It even affected everyone."

"Indeed! We never realised it was an illusion. Our perception of reality was altered. If i am not wrong, it must be an emperor level illusion technique." Someone made analysis and commented.

Everyone clamoured after hearing this. The Eastern territory does not have a single emperor lineage so no one had ever seen an emperor technique.

"When did you start using it?" The assassin asked, he kept thinking about when exactly he fell for the illusion.

"The moment i stepped up to fight you." Li Shenrong replied calmly.

"Good technique. I am curious about one thing. I hope you will enlighten me." The assassin spoke, his tone changed a little. He acknowledged Li Shenrong's ability.

"Go on, ask." Li Shenrong laughed.

"How are you able to use laws when you haven't reached physic foundation realm?" Under the fox mask, the assassin's eyes glowed with curiosity.

Li Shenrong shook his head.

Feeling disappointed, the assasin sighed to himself.

This time I completely underestimated the enemy and suffered. He thought inwardly.

He pulled out his dagger and directed at Li Shenrong. He stimulated his body and mind with some kind of poison which made his eyes turned red. His red eyes glowed under the fox mask. He wanted to protect his mind from falling into another illusion.

Lightning crackled around his body as he charged forward.

Li Shenrong smirked and also moved at the same time, planning to use his bare hands to fight. The ground beneath Li Shenrong's feet had a spider web like crack on it. Wherever he went, the ground exploded.

A full completion godly physic was strong indeed. But the godly physique Li shenrong chose wasn't speed based. So it was tough for him to keep up with the assassin and his lower cultivation base was also a form of restriction.

The assassin moved like lightning. His speed was extremely fast, almost impossible to pinpoint his location.

He is moving around outside the range of my reach, avoiding a direct confrontation. I can't match him in speed. In that case…..

Li Shenrong suddenly stopped moving. He stood like a statue and closed his eyes.
