His fate was predetermined: fight, defend, and perish with the stars, a mere cog in the great machinery of creation. But something within him resisted this cruel fate. A seed of defiance sprouted in his heart, whispering of freedom. He sought a way to transcend the cosmic chains—to escape, to defy destiny, to seize freedom at any cost. As a mortal, he felt the agony of watching his loved ones wither and die, powerless to stop the decay of time. He wept for children, lovers, friends. As an emperor, he conquered kingdoms and wielded unimaginable power, only to be betrayed by those he trusted most, dragged from his throne, and executed in shame. As a beggar, he wandered the streets, starving and shivering under the cold gaze of uncaring gods. As a villain, he became the monster in stories told to frighten children—burning cities, drowning nations in blood, only to be hunted and killed by the heroes of those same tales. As a saint, he gave everything—his wealth, his strength, his life—to others, only to discover that gratitude was fleeting and the world did not remember the sacrifices of the righteous. But, Every failure, every death, every betrayal—they were nothing but steps on a long, infinite path. And the path had only one direction: up, through the layers of existence, through the fabric of reality itself. No prison could contain him. No curse could hold him. His heart whispered one thing to him, a truth carved into his soul:Move forward. Always forward. Because he was Li Shenrong—the Lord of the Celestial Throne.
The atmosphere became instantly solemn when the strange masked man appeared.
All the black clothed assassins knelt down on one knee and saluted his arrival.
The pink cat masked girl looked at Li Shenrong curiously. She couldn't help but be surprised when she realised the perpetrator of the carnage was just a young man in bone tempering realm.
Beneath the cat mask, her beautiful eyes reflected Li Shenrong's pale face, his blood soaked robe, those horrifying injuries and his indomitable upright figure.
Suddenly, she felt something pulling her heart strings. A strange sensation pervaded her heart, making it beat faster.
The girl herself didn't realise it as her beautiful eyes were glued to Li Shenrong.
Unknowingly a faint smile appeared at the corner of her lips but no one saw it.
"Alright you are the bigshot from the Nine dog or fox whatever pavilion right? If you want to fight, let's get on with it." Li Shenrong waved his hands and said dismissively.
The seventh executioner who was lying on the ground felt relieved when he saw the strange masked man.
Finally a Holy general took action, this kid will die for sure. He thought inwardly and rested his head.
"It seems you won't repent until you see coffin." The Holy generals cold voice echoed as his aura surged.
His Dao sovereign aura swept away everything like a storm. Wu Xia and her clansmen along with those who were watching the battle secretly was blown away by fifty meters before they could stabilise themselves.
"The heavens wants us dead! We are finished." Few Wu clansmen cried out loud.
"No! Maybe young noble Li have some way…" Wu Xia uttered.
"Xiao'er, young noble Li might be heaven defying enough to kill a Heaven congregation realm expert but we are talking about a Dao sovereign expert here. No matter how strong he is, in the end he is just a bone tempering realm.
The gap between bone tempering realm and a Dao sovereign is like heavenly chasm. There is no way to overcome the immense gap in cultivation." Wu Han sighed sorrowfully.
Wu Xia's two snow white palm were clenched into a fist tightly which was hidden beneath her sleeves. She looked at Li Shenrong's back with gaze full of nervousness.
The man in strange mask raised his palm and pushed forward.
It was just a lite movement but a huge qi palm manifested infront of him. It came crashing toward Li Shenrong swiftly.
Rumbling sound echoed, wind started blowing violently as if a storm was coming, the surrounding qi energy churned creating crackling sounds.
Li Shenrong calmly looked at the huge qi palm that was just a few meters away from him.
But suddenly a cold snort rang in the air. The huge palm made of qi dispersed immediately.
The strange masked man became startled as he looked at the figure that just appeared beside Li Shenrong.
A women in white dress slowly descended from the sky.
She wore a snow white robe which covered her curvy figure entirely. She was elegant and a mesmerisingly beautiful. Her beautiful face could topple cities and empires. Coupled with her white attire she looked like an immortal fairy.
If Lu Hongping was here he would recognise this girl at a glance.
"Wen Lingxiao."
"May i ask who you are, your majesty?" The strange masked man asked in a solemn tone. He didn't dare to be careless.
He recognised her overwhelming demigod aura at a glance. Even though she was hiding it but few strands still leaked out.
"Doing blood sacrifice, killing hundred thousand people and slaughtering a whole city. This is an act of demonic scoundrels.
Tell me, what should i do with you?" Wen Lingxiao spoke coldly.
Her demigod aura bore down on the strange masked man. He felt his knees buckling. It became hard for him to even breathe properly.
"Master!" The pink cat masked girl cried out in panic but she was also frozen by Wen Lingxiao's aura.
Li Shenrong glanced at Wen Lingxiao's snow white figure but said nothing.
Damn it! What is a demigod doing in such a remote region. Did she also came for the emperor's treasure!
The strange masked man panicked internally but showed a calm face on the surface and said. "Your majesty, i am from the Nine fox King pavilion and…."
Wen Lingxiao interrupted him midway.
"Do you think your measly little Nine fox can scare me? If i meet him next time, i'll pluck his feathers one by one."
The masked man felt awkward and didn't know what to say. He was panicking, because his disciple was with him. If the demi god decideds to kill him, definitely her disciple would die too.
This time i hit an iron plate. What a bad luck! He couldn't help but curse his fate.
"What do you want to do with them?" Wen Lingxiao suddenly turned around and asked Li Shenrong.
Before he could say anything ,Wu Xia walked up to Li Shenrong.
When the pink cat masked girl saw Wu Xia, her beautiful face showed a surprised expression as if recognising her.
Wu Xia gazed at the pink cat masked girl intently before saying. "Master Yu Ning is that you?" Her voice seemed a bit excited and eager.
Wen Lingxiao released the pressure on the pink cat masked girl so that she could speak.
After a moment of silence, the girl took of her mask which revealed her beautiful face.
She wasn't a lust inducing beauty but more inclined toward the word cute. Oval face, thin eye brows, big and round watery eyes, small lips and a little bit of baby fat on her cheeks made her look really adorable. It invokes a strange desire to squeeze those cheeks hard in adoration.
"How did you recognise me?" She asked as she looked at Wu Xia with a slight smile on her face.
"Master, even if you hide your face, how could i not recognise your aura." Wu Xia said solemnly.
"You've grown up." Yu Ning said with a gratifying smile.
The strange masked man felt bewildered. Since when his immature little disciple took someone else as her disciple.
If she is my grand disciple, wasn't i going to sacrifice my grand disciple?
He silently felt relieved and felt hopeful.
"Young noble, i would like to plead for mercy on my masters behalf." Wu Xia knelt down on both knees and lowered her head.
"No need for this, stand up. You have been serving me well. Since she is your master i will let her go." Li Shenrong helped Wu Xia stand up and said gently.
"Release them." Then he told Wen Lingxiao.
Wen Lingxiao waved her sleeves and the pressure on both of them disappeared completely.
"But those assassins will stay." Li Shenrong suddenly spoke up.
"Naturally." The strange masked man said. When the assassins heard this they cried out in panic.
"Humph! How can you whimper before death? And you call yourself assassins? You all should just repent and die." The strange masked man snorted coldly and released his aura on them.
Some assassins collapsed on the ground in fear.
Wu Xia walked up to Yu Ning and both went to sideways for chat.
It seems the calamity is finally over. The Wu clansmen sighed in relief.
