The amputee soldier and the vote.

Even if no monsters were approaching, there were constantly sounds that made sleeping a harder task than usual, which was already a hard task even before the apocalypse for a particular member of the family...

After only a couple of hours of rest, in which Viktor was on guard duty, as he offered to be the first to stand guard, shouts caught his attention.

"I wasn't going to sleep anyway." Viktor, tired thought.

'Even if my eyes are tired, I can never stop wandering around thinking idiocies before I sleep, until I fall unconscious.

Usually 2 hours after I start trying to sleep...That is if I don't get distracted before and use my cell phone. In that case it takes me longer.'

'Well...There's no such thing as a cell phone anymore.'

[System(Personal):I function similarly... ]It clarified as a demon telling him to give in to his dark desires...

Even so, at this moment it was impossible for him. He was too busy and worried about his future and that of the world.

He rambled slightly as he watched the situation occurring in the distance and was dressing. He could do it because he now had enough intelligence.

A soldier with a mutilated arm could be seen from a distance, trying to protect a group of approximately 5 or 6 civilians, with 3 other soldiers.

The screams of terror from this group , interrupted Viktor from his futile rambling.

Viktor quickly woke up his family and the soldiers accompanying him. Almost the entire group woke up, with the civilians fearing and the soldiers reassuring them.

Viktor and his family charged first...The target:

'7 golems gathered...It's going to be exhausting' Viktor thought. Despite thinking that, inwardly he couldn't hide his excitement from himself. He wanted to feel stronger, and really be stronger.

He wanted to kill more and more monsters and progress.

'One of them looks like more than just a normal golem' He thought, looking at the golem that had crushed the soldier's arm.

He threw a spear at this golem's eye, of course, by eye, meant one of the stones it had in its head, in mana-filled hollows that are considered its eye sockets, where these stones float by the energy that connects them to the mana core.

If these stones break, the golems lose their vision. Unfortunately, though, they do not seem to feel as much pain as a human, nor do it seem as lethal a blow to them.

Even so, this was effective, the golem stopped attacking, to make a kind of strange gesture of pain, where it put its arm(mud with an elongated shape, which bends) near its eye and writhed in pain.

Woeful Akiba, he was reduced to bait fighting these tough monsters who would little feel the cuts of his dagger.

Lucia set about melting the mud such a pyromancer...Viktor even thought he could see her wearing a crazy grin, as she burned a huge mountain, or a golem.

Emma dedicated herself to using her light barriers to deflect attacks from the golems instead of blocking them completely, which would drain her mana quickly.

This was possible because she now controlled the light in her barrier, changing its shape.

The soldiers also did their job, attacking as a group to quickly finish off a golem. Meanwhile, Viktor, his sister and father finished off 2.

Viktor's long heavy axe chopped off the arm of another of the golems trying to attack him, while his sister threw a fireball at him.

Akiba jumped on one golem and broke its eye, and damaged the eye of a second golem with a throwing dagger. These chased him frantically, but he, along with the help of his wife, was able to distract them easily, while the rest of the golems were destroyed.

The man with the mutilated arm died while the fight was going on, although they tried to cure him.

When the fight was over, the family decided to camp together with the wounded group, to help them.

This group had failed to save a group of 4 civilians, all of whom had died before the family arrived.

The group of soldiers risked to save them even though they were already escorting other people, so they gathered too many and attracted too much attention.

But they could not watch as 4 innocent civies were discovered by golems and killed while ignoring it.

They were still escorting some civilians, so it was important to try to give hope, but it was difficult for them, who saw and experienced difficult things every day, trying to do the right thing.

It was getting harder every day to do some good for society and want to save people.

Their morale was low, but they tried to put their best face forward and help each other as much as possible.

In the group now assembled, there was one young man; a young civilian named Harry, in particular who was devastated having seen the death of his entire family.

It could be seen that he no longer had much to live for, in a world where his job, dreams, family and friends, were no longer going to exist.

No one had any words of comfort...

In the evening, the family, still dismayed by the current situation, had a mournful meeting, affected by the mood formed by seeing a brave soldier die.

Currently, they had quite a few Scoins, and it was time to discuss what to spend them on.

"Our survival is the most important thing "Viktor commented without leaving place to discussion.

It sounded strong, but everyone nodded with heavy expressions on their faces.

"Earlier, I thought it would be good to upgrade the system of mother and get her to buy The Sorcerer's System(another layer of the system), along with the book [Knowledge of Healing Skill]."

Emma's eyes sparkled slightly from excitement.

"But I'm really hesitating...I think that would certainly be useful if we have serious damage, but ultimately, it's always better to be able to prevent that damage than to have to heal it."

"And not always it is possible to heal everything...If we find ourselves in an emergency situation, I think we should have the power to defend ourselves."

"So I think maybe, the best thing is to upgrade my system and upgrade the Smithy system to level 3, where there is already customization of weapons and armor and cheaper prices of these."

"Also, with this we can sell monster skins and different items to the Smithy system, in exchange for Scoins or items crafted by the Smithy system."

The rest of the family listened in silence, without interrupting him. When he finally finished speaking, his mother interrupted:

"But...In case of buying the sorcerer, in cases like those of the mutilated soldier, we could help more...Besides for us it's not a bad idea "Said his mother.

"You're right, but as I said before, it doesn't seem to me the better thing to do "Viktor commented.

"I think we should have a vote "His sister commented.

"Arguing won't do any good "She added.

"Fine "Akiba responded.

"But I think Viktor's vote should be double. He's led us to the best so far, and ultimately, if not it could end in an eternal tie."(Akiba)

"That...It's not fair..."Emma pouted half "angrily" and half mockingly.

She didn't really have much objection to that, if 3 didn't vote the same, someone should have a more decisive vote.
