Lord Klaus’ Fated Vampire Mate

Mara is a special, rare vampire who wasn’t allowed to go outside until she clocked twenty, for her own safety. There, she comes across the most breathtaking man ever and discovers he was her soulmate, but he turns out to be soulmates with her elder sister, and rejects her at once. Mara wasn’t happy, but her sister’s happiness came first, so she took the rejection in one stride and went her way. To her bewilderment, she was accused of the murder of her elder sister the very next day, by none other than her soulmate, Lord Klaus. Three-hundred years old Lord Klaus is a very ruthless and feared Vampire King, a dark soul that loves orderliness as much as he loves power. Mara is a huge disruption in his perfectly outlined life, ruining a lot of plans with her sudden presence, and he hates her so much because of that, making him determined to make her life a living hell. With feelings managing to bloom in the most unexpected and complicated situation, falling in love just couldn’t be helped, nor avoided. But when centuries-old secrets and truths start to unravel, Mara realizes that her whole life might be a lie, resulting in life-threatening dangers arising, thrusting not only Mara into the midst of it, but also Klaus. It was intense, gruesome, life-altering, and chaos was bound to happen. What’s going to happen to Mara? ~~~ EXCERPT ~~~ “Why don’t you just let me die? Why?! Dammit, why?” He took in a single breath before responding. “Because I wanted to kill you myself.” “Oh, yeah?” She sneered. “Do it then! Fucking kill me.” He cocked his head and scoffed. “Maybe if you ask nicely next time like a good girl, I’ll consider doing it.” He inched closer, backing her against the wall until there was nowhere she could run to. He lifted a hand and wrapped it around her throat, which he used in briskly tugging her face close to his. “But, for now, you’re gonna have to stay alive. Not because I give a fuck whether you live or not, but because I know that staying alive is a bigger punishment to you than death.”

Murderous Intention

Mara's POV

I paced around the room, my heart bittered by the audacity of that man to show up and try to woo me in this useless prison.

What did he take me for? Was he thinking that he would easily have me as his prisoner and I would magically go for it? That I would jump at him when he would want to marry me?

Besides, who tries to marry their prisoners anyway?

I guess after blaming me for murdering my own fucking sister, that I would jump at the thought of marrying him after he gave me a few flowers and chocolate.

I picked up the chocolates on the bed as I smashed it into the wall.

He was making a very clear mistake if that was the case.

He was delusional. He had no idea what was coming to him.

If I got my powers back, I would use it against him and I would make sure I had his heart beating in my hand at the end of the day.

He had no idea what was coming to him.

What a bastard.

A knock on my door had me looking at door in anticipation for what was coming next as it opened up but it was the maid here to clean up the mess I had created as well as leave me food.

What was he playing at? When I first came into this stupid place it was as a prisoner, now I was a guest because he had taken my powers from me.

He had to make his intentions known to me and stood playing around with me. He was a sick man.

Coming to me with words of marriage was only going to get him nowhere.

Suddenly I felt enraged as I wanted his head for what he was doing to me.

"Where is the king?" I asked as the maid looked up.

She was indecisive about telling me. "I won't tell him anything."

But she shook her head and went ahead to clean up the room in silence.

When she was done, she quietly left the room as it was locked by the guards outside.

What did they have to fear? My powers were gone yet the door was being locked after food had been served. It felt weird that I was still being seen as a threat even when I had not been doing anything to show that I was a threat.

Suddenly my eyes started to water up as I felt sad for having to lose my sister. The realization that I wasn't going to see her anymore hit me again.

I was going to be alone for the better part of my miserable life in this place. I had to find a way to get out of here. I didn't care how, I just knew I had to leave.

Klaus's POV

Sam tried talking me out of doing anything horrible to her.

"I know you're really mad and you want her head on a platter but just hear me out first," he said as I nodded and waved for him to speak. "Listen, just try again. You have nothing to lose."

I scoffed. "What about my fucking dignity? Or has that one been thrown out of the window already?"

He nodded. "I am sorry about that. Alright, I understand that you're even hurt and your ego is bruised but this is your only option."

I opened my mouth to say something before catching myself. He was right. This was my only option. I don't have anything to do. This was the only option I had.

There were rules to being a married lord of lords and that was being married to someone for a very long time before anything would happen to either one of the couple.

Also, not many women would want to marry me for the task was too daunting and it required someone who was strong and fearless. I haven't seen many female vampires who possessed that ranting behavior.

Most of them were just weak, leaving everything to the men.

"You should get going," I said to him as he put a hand on my shoulder.

"Are you going to be okay?" He asked with a look of concern.

"I am the king of this entire kingdom," I said, pushing away his hand. "I can handle myself. I don't need you to babysit me."

He nodded before giving me a salute as he zoomed out of the place.

When he was gone, Gail joined me with a look of concern on his face.

"You know, being a king is troublesome. You could choose to stay as you are or you can choose for more things. The choice is yours."

I sighed. "Where are you going with this, Gail?"

He smiled. "Should I advise you as your elder or your personal guard?"

I shrugged. "Which advice do you think I would be likely to listen to?"

"The one that goes with your agenda."

I smiled. He knew me so well, but it wasn't enough to get me. If he could give me a good reason for why what I was doing was bad I could listen to him.

"You seem to have already made up your mind on this girl so I won't consider changing your mind. You should go for her."

I raised a brow as I looked at him.

"You're not going to tell me I'm making a huge mistake?"

He laughed, looking at his shoes before running his hands on his robe.

"In all my years, when a king makes up his mind on something that's the end. You my dear king are not indecisive. You know what you want, if not you would have hung that girl. You like her, don't you?"

I could not answer that. I just did not understand why she would keep me waiting when she could clearly be with me and clear her name herself. Or was she just doing this to frustrate me?
